Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense or React more than once to a given Action.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 5 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 5). You also take a point of Mind Damage and suffer a Battle Scar as normal.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Outcome 4+ puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.
Failed or Botched attempts may be re-attempted at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Outcome 1+ will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar if it caused one.

Failed or Botched attempts may be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Biography

Inspiration: - a physicist character I saw one time in a FATE one-shot with Will Wheaton. I full do not remember most of it, I just have that idea of a character.

Conrad's parents were killed in an earthquake when he was a boy and he went to live with his aunt in New York. She was not much of a caregiver and he spent most of his childhood raising himself, forcing him to grow up quickly. He got a scholarship to MIT when he was 17 and worked his way through undergrad like a man possessed. He got his PhD in physics when he was 21 and began teaching when he was 22. After that he sort of faded into the background of NYU as a professor. Until the magic came back, that is. He had heard the reports and began to run his own tests, occasionally collaborating with his colleagues, though they did not take it as seriously. He could find no conclusive evidence one way or the other, which frustrated him to no end. He began touring to see what magic he could find on his own. Ironically, it was when he returned that his first Harbinger offered him a position on a Contract.
