    Conditions

    Conditions are GM-assigned status effects.

Examples of Conditions include supernatural curses, enchantments, and diseases. Conditions are created by GMs and Playgroup leaders and are not subject to any standardized balance. Therefore, their effects may be altered or ignored outside the Playgroup where they were obtained. For example, lycanthropy may be contagious in one Playgroup, but not another.

    Project *******
Guardian of the Bog Bound to the Imp's Swamp cannot be gone for more than 30 days, will be teleported back to location in event of being gone too long.
The Deal of Identity Leon Vanderblight will forget about his existence as himself, a Kitsune, and become Joao Jean DeLeon, Pawn Shop Owner. Learning about or attempting to be convinced of your previous life deals a Trauma roll Difficulty 9 -3 dice.

    Circumstances

Circumstances describe your Contractor's situation in various Playgroups.

Enemies, wealth, notoriety, status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment are all examples of potential Circumstances.

    Powers

His bodies return to it's initial spiritual state now fully complete, aside from one critical component, his physiology no longer suffers from such mortal issues as "dying of blood loss" and "needing months for broken bones to heal.". No instead now he heals within days rather than months, and in absorbing the Qi of the world he has essentially infinite vitality for standard tasks. A cushy position if Joao Jean had ever heard of one, and one he didn't intend to leave any time soon. Even if in doing so he's gained a vulnerability to the celestial judgement of natural lightning, and weapons blessed by the those Shinto Fogeys back in his homeland fuck him up just like he was a mortal but hey. No such thing as a free lunch.

You gain the following benefits as long as Only functions if he has fulfilled his faith consumption req for his unusual diet for the day.

Any Injury you receive from a source other than Lightning and Onmyo Blessed Weapons heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level each day, starting once it becomes stabilized. Battle Scars caused by your Injuries will remain. Any Injuries you receive stabilize automatically and do not deteriorate further.

The realization that something is false triggers a certain, reaction in the brain. Upon dispelling an illusion of Leon's through brute force he can force that reaction upon someone in the ensuing explosion of mystic energy. Then, when he has magic and an impulse to jump on he feeds a little more into it and causes it to loop back in on itself, and with Joao Jean's latest and greatest trick the loop goes on and on~. Striking to the core of their mind as the magic tears through their brain turning it into so much silly putty until they become unable to accept the notion of the untrue, their mind going into full defense notion as implausible becomes the incomprehensible and the merest glimpse of the world beyond drives them to madness.

This Effect activates whenever Another person takes an action that would have an illusion of his suffer the equivalent of a severity 2 injury or more. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically and their Outcome is 0.

If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes Mind damage equal to the Contested Outcome. If you deal at least 3 Mind damage, the target will gain Fear of the supernatural as a Trauma. This trauma may be removed by Effects or mundane therapy as per normal rules. Affected targets are aware that they are being attacked and can generally tell who did it.

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Auditory hallucinations are a classic trick of the [REDACTED], and though Leon has some. problems maintaining his [REDACTED] form still as of yet with a little assistance with a gift from a friend he has managed to grasp hold of one of the iconic [REDACTED] abilities once again. By playing the instrument he can strum into reality just about anything, though he does have some size limits he won't admit to, and he needs a little help from some additional sensory input from incense he imbues with his power, a novice, and his crutches still manage to produce an impressive illusion.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use A musical instrument to activate this Effect. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than an SUV.

The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place for the next minute. It can be perceived by people through their taste, touch, hearing, smell, and sight. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You may create a replica of a specific being, though it is still limited by whatever you do or do not know about that individual.

Anyone who struggles against the illusion or who would be damaged by the illusion (or who would be able to perceive it significantly through a sense it cannot fool) realizes it is an illusion and can choose to perceive it or not at will.

The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

As a true kitsune, it is only natural that he is able to return to his true form as a fox. Unfortunately though, his wounds mean that he is unable to manifest his true glory as of yet. Though he finds that being a fox is often times more valuable than being a person when you need to get out of dodge, or get into somewhere you aren't allowed to be.

Exert your Mind and spend one minute to activate.

You transform into A Corsac Fox until you transform into something else. You cannot transform into a flying creature. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you do not have access to any of your Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

    • Creature Stats
      • Medium (large house cat up to human) Body 3. Brawn 1. Dexterity 3. Fall damage reduced by 1.
All creatures get +3 dice to any non-combat Action that they are naturally adapted for. All creatures Medium and larger may attack by rolling Body, dealing +0 Damage (+1 for “predators”) that is not reduced by Brawn. Gms and Playgroup leaders can apply other bonuses and effects to specific animals.

Innately supernatural beings such as Kitsune are natively able to display a level of charm that is legendary even among the supernatural, Leon's latest adventures have allowed him to restore a small shred of this charm and in doing so he has begun to remanifest his innate traits, albeit less than overtly in the form of a tattoo depicting his nine tails on his back.

You gain the following benefits as long as you have your Back tattoo of nine fox tails, each alight with a different color of flame at the tip.

Your Charisma rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Charisma (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).

If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.

You also gain the following effects:

    • Call me Senpai: You may ask to be called by a specific title. Sapient beings will use this title when addressing you, unless they Exert their Mind to resist for the day. You may use an Influence Effect on anyone who uses your title without Exerting your Mind. One free activation per individual per day.
    • Poker Face: You never give any outward indication of dishonesty. It is impossible to tell that you are lying, and you are able to fool any method of lie detection without making a roll.

    • In rare cases, GMs may require you to make a roll to lie to particularly powerful beings.
    • If your Back tattoo of nine fox tails, each alight with a different color of flame at the tip is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months, or until you can recover any relevant missing items (which may involve a side-game and requires a GM to approve whatever process is used).

A little spit here, a little shine there and you'd be surprised what people will buy as legit. After a little elbow grease with his trust polishing cloth, Joao can make just about anything seem like a genuine article. Well. Provided he has some form of reference work, but hey. Tracing isn't exactly stealing and Joao Jean loves his technicalities.

Joao Jean DeLeon is a master at the craft of tricking people out of what's soon to be his, and in doing so he's picked up just about every trick there is for pretending to have something he doesn't, but hey. If not for him, someone else would've been along to take it soon enough.

As the saying goes, a fool and their money are soon parted.

Spend an Action to activate. Select a fraudulent object in the same category as the target object within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use A polishing cloth to activate this Effect.

The target becomes disguised with a new forged appearance of your choice, which must fit within the theme of Accessories. You may have up to 3 Forgeries active concurrently and may choose to end the effect at will as a Free Action.

The new appearance can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), as long as they are within your theme, but must be of a similar size and weight to the targeted Object The forged appearance will generally hold up to any mundane scrutiny, though exceptions can be made at GMs discretion.

When your Forgery expires, the original fraudulent object in the same category as the target object is broken or otherwise rendered useless.

This Gift's level is capped at 2 Gifts and cannot be increased further.

    • The composition of the original object will not be altered, and it will not lose its functionality or gain any new functionality outside of its changed appearance.
    • Any attempt to use an object for a function which it cannot perform (for instance, making bread look like a knife and then trying to stab someone) may cause the disguise to fail or require a Perception check at GM's discretion.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

As a member of the original species to practice this art, it only makes sense that Leon would pursue a small restoration of his power at the first chance he got. The power of the gift frees a small part of his soul from the botched ritual that half shackles it to Hasashi's shrine in japan. Bastard. Still, while it isn't quite at the level of complexity or range that Leon desires as of yet, the feeling of knowing that you can make someone go fuck themselves with a glance is one that Leon finds comforting.

Exert your Mind and spend at least one Action to activate. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. Communicate a command to your target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.

If the contested Outcome is positive, your target will be compelled to follow your command to the letter-- but not necessarily the spirit-- of the command until they have completed it or for your Outcome in hours. You cannot issue another suggestion to the target until 10 minutes after they have completed the first command or 10 minutes after a failure.

The target is unaware that they are under supernatural influence and feel they are acting of their own free will. If you fail, they realize that you were attempting to influence them supernaturally with your command.

Your command can be an order to take an immediate Action and a conditional request. You cannot order a target to "do nothing," and they are free to take other Actions as they fulfill your request. Your command cannot be obviously self-endangering or self-destructive. The Effect ends if following your command would cause a target to cross one of their Limits in a way that would necessitate a Trauma roll.

You must have some means of communicating this command to your target, but no one other than you and them will understand or perceive it.

    • The target must be able to understand you and must receive your communication for the suggestion to work.
    • Allowed Commands
      • Conditional Request: implants a triggered response or latent order. (e.g. "when you see your mom, give her a kiss" or "when I give the signal, strip naked and pretend you're possessed by the devil.")
      • Direct Order: The target must take an immediate action (e.g. “Sit down,” "run away," or "tell me your password.")
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

As his reconstitution continues, Joao Jean has found that his activities restoring the Imp's Bog have earned him a kind of veneration among its residents. A veneration that culminated in a small shrine to him being built and offerings being burnt in his honor in exchange for the many services he performs for its people. Much like the little Kami that he has spent his entire life fighting to protect, Joao Jean now can subsist entirely on the classical offerings that are made in his name, and now fully sustained by the energy of faith he once again finds himself free of the damnable need to breathe and sleep.

You gain the following benefits at all times.

You no longer require any sleep or air in order to survive.

Instead of food and water, you must consume An offering burned in your name daily for sustenance. For every day you fail to consume it, you lose a point of Brawn. If your Brawn falls to 0 in this way, you die. Your Brawn is fully restored to normal as soon as you fulfill your dietary needs.

    Legendary Artifacts

    The Kitsune Flame Katana

Created and held by Joao Jean DeLeon.
A katana hilt that looks relatively mundane at first inspection, when activated however it produces a blade of energy attuned to the creatures particular spiritual elemental affinity.

When you've got a good thing, you put the practice in to make it great and when you have an artifact in hand you do what you can to learn to use it to your utmost. Leon has poured his energy into the ability to defend himself, and tethering some of himself to this sacred artifact has allowed him to attain supernatural celerity when channeling his soul through the artifact.

An upgrade into an artifact Leon traded another one he found on a job to obtain one from a harbinger. Base stats are +2 damage, half armor.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact and you are engaged in combat with Swords.

Your attacks with Swords deal +3 Bonus Damage. Armor is fully effective against this damage.

You also gain the following effects:

    • Bullet Parry: You may React to and Defend against firearms and other projectiles with Swords.
    • Dismember: If one of your attacks causes a Battle Scar, you may choose for it to be some form of dismemberment, depending on the Severity of the Injury you caused.
    • Fancy Footwork: You may move your full Dash distance and attack with your Melee weapon in the same Round without penalty. You may also split your movement before and after your attack.

    • Reminder: Bonus Damage stacks with Weapon Damage, but does not stack with any other Bonus Damage. Instead, the highest Bonus Damage is used.

    Crafted Artifacts

    Kevins Friendship Braclet

Created by Kevin Sparkles, given to Joao Jean DeLeon.
Kevins name in hearts in a classic friendship bracelet with a sword Charm attached Braclet has stretchy material to allow it to stretch with the transformation

Kevin has begun crafting protection into his friends bracelets. The weilder of these bracelets now carry their own sword of equestria allowing them to slay evil and protect friendship wherever they are.

This Artifact can be used as a Sword/Axe. It is roughly the same size as a Sword/Axe but can be collapsed into Friendship Bracelet Sword Charm the size of a lighter and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Free Action.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal 1 Weapon Damage +1 Bonus Damage. The target's Armor is fully effective against this damage.

You also gain the following effects:

    • Fancy Footwork: You may move your full Dash distance and attack with your Melee weapon in the same Round without penalty. You may also split your movement before and after your attack.

Kevins freinds now have the ability to reveal their inner Pony OC. He hopes this allows his freinds to delve deeper into themselves and find their own inner pony.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate.

You transform into A Horse for one hour or until you choose to end the Effect. You cannot transform into a flying creature. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you do not have access to any of your Powers. The equipment you are wearing does not transform with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

While transformed, you may speak and use any Commune or Send Message Powers you posses.

While transformed, you are obviously unusual, unnatural, or alien, and the average person will take a special interest in you.

    • Creature Stats
      • Large (larger than human, smaller than elephant) Body: 8. Brawn 6. Dexterity 2. Fall damage increased by 2. Armor: 1

Kevins Friends call to him and ask him for his support. He steps from a portal behind them and lifts them up on his back and they ride him as he gallops forward bringing his friends to safety.

Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend at least two Actions performing the following ritual: They grip the braclet and shout "Kevin Help me." to activate. This Effect cannot be used unless This power can only to flee from danger. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You can run at four times your normal movement speed for the next minute.

While running, you may climb, jump, and roll without breaking stride, but you are at 1/2 speed while doing so.

If you move faster than your normal move speed, the world around you turns to a blur, and Perception rolls are made at -3 dice.

Possession of this Artifact causes the following Trauma to manifest over the course of a day: Inability to harm someone wearing one of Kevins Friendship Bracelets. If you lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next month.

    • Any Encumbrance penalty to your movement still applies, but you do not suffer from any sort of exhaustion.
    • Damage from a collision depends on your speed at the time, as well as what you hit. GM's discretion, but generally moving faster than a car on the freeway and hitting a dense, solid object like a wall or a tree should be lethal. Mundane armor will not apply, but any supernatural forms of protection will.

If Kevin finds someone who he beleives is a true friend he will share with them a homemade bracelet with them telling them as long as they have this he will be beside them. When they grip the bracelet and call out for Kevins help his original character will appear from a rift in space which through for a moment you can see Ponyland.

Exert your Mind and spend at least two Actions performing the following ritual: Grip the bracelet and say "Kevin I need your help." to activate. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

Summon a single Kevin at your location. They will last for an hour, or until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 1 minion active at a time.

Minions have 4 Body and can make melee range attacks with 5 dice to attack and +1 Damage. Your minions can move 20 feet per Round as Free Movement, and double that when performing an all-out Sprint. They cannot dodge or Defend. They have dog-level intelligence, and cannot communicate back to you. Any Perception checks they make are rolled with 3 dice.

    The tunnels

A month of swindling mooks, and ensuring that not one of them was gonna ever know who did it at a tech conference in Seattle had ensured that Joao Jean had his funds for the month and he was gonna be sipping Mai Thais and lounging on the beach long before they were ever gonna be causing issues for him.

Joao Jean had returned to a strange situation. A man who insisted that he honor their pact as spirits, that statement hurt a bit for reasons he didn't quite understand but he felt like he could trust that the old man wasn't lying about them having a pact, maybe he was just being weird about how he worded it. He didn't know, he didn't care. The folks in the town also seemed to be pretty keen on insisting that their friendly fox help them with all kinds of problems and well. Joao Jean felt compelled to listen for some reason or another and thus he went to work.

All that swindlin' money was put to good use, building up houses and then setting up something he thought no self respecting trickster would be without.

    An escape route.

Dug out with a shovel and a few friendly Russian hands the underground tunnel was connected with his pawn shop and being under as it was it'd be perfect if any of them "Foundation" fellas showed up looking to cause trouble as the special folks of the town could dip down there and they'd just be a creepy lookin Russian town. Same as everywhere else in that god forsaken hellhole of a country honestly, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

    Finishing touches

Well, the village had consumed him and his resources for three months.

No buying new cars, no buying fancy dinners for himself that he totally deserved, no starting up MLMs. Just hard, sweaty, construction work, but it was done.

Through the power of illegal labor, a willingness to buy everyone's spare shit and learn how to put it together and a fair bit of insanity he had finished the new houses for all of the villagers. No longer would they live in poorly structured crapshacks, no longer would they live without simple things like electricity (honestly, life was so shit before this), running water, and a single shared town wifi hotspot that was registered to a man in the nearby town.

Heck, he even set up the electric fence around the perimeter of each of the actual houses, and began holding seminars on the foundation and why no one here should tell them anything about the actual circumstances of the town. Fuckers had choppers, tanks, and who knows what else and were clearly very willing to use them even on people without any history of violence and murder and thus. All of them knew the process for the final security measure in place.

When any of the cameras in the bog would spot someone entering with that god damn symbol anywhere on their body, everyone here would show them that they merely hated outsiders and a fog machine, and various monster costumes would be shown as the cover story in order to persaude them that this is merely a scooby doo level of not wanting outsiders in their town, and during that time the supernatural entities within the bog would vanish whether into underground tunnels, or into the aether if they were capable it did not matter.

When the foundation came, they would find an ordinary town without anything more than a proclivity towards using ghost stories to prevent the bog from being used as a natural gas mine.

    Practice, practice.

Well, someone had to do it after all.

Working hard day in and day out, slaving away chopping wood so that the houses could become something better than the slovenly slapped together shacks of yesteryear. Though, of course. Hydro and solar power also had to be put up because fuck all if he was ever going to create solutions for this village that weren't carbon neutral. The Leshen could kill him before that'd be allowed to happen anywhere near his watch.

Next was getting the Rusalka to set up an agility course for him in the bog. Leaping between logs, dodging too and fro as they'd harry him from the sides. All while doing his best to avoid swinging log traps and then finish it off by sneaking past a Rusalka.

He failed a few times to be sure, I mean, if your legs don't give out once or twice while you try to do it are you even really trying to train?

By the end of the training though, he'd find himself a few steps quicker than before, and that was damn nice. The last thing he did was get in touch with some old contacts, a few political figures from back in the day who he'd helped when things looked a little too dire and he had a little more power at his finger tips. The ability to phone up some friends in the near future was never wasted after all and Leon had found that one needed to be able to pull in some folks when you were a talker rather than a fighter more often than not.
