You are fluent in three additional languages. You can speak, read, and write in the chosen languages. You may be given a roll to decipher some amount of meaning from a related language at GMs discretion.
    Martha's Anger
    Given by Pokefan777
By sealing the pieces of Martha's soul within items instead of giving her her body back, Martha's spirit has become filled with unspeakable rage. Each item with a piece of her soul will take the alive trait, but you'll gain no benefit from it as far as improvements go. The item can still be improved with improvement points. It just naturally has the "It's Alive" drawback, but you don't get any improvement points from that particular drawback nor can it be bought off via improvement points. And should the weapon ever die via said Drawback's effects, it would effectively free the soul piece to commit havoc on your life.
    Vengeful Spirit
    Given by Pokefan777
Should this weapon or item ever be lost, stolen, or destroyed the shackles binding the spirit will loosen and the spirit will do everything it can to ruin your lives whether it be breaking free of the item, empowering your enemies, or generally taking horrible revenge.

Colonizer's Name You have been branded with a colonizer's name, "Brian". This brand is intermingled with your soul, but it does beget some benefits. Yaotl is able to understand and write modern Spanish as well as his native Nahuatl. He does *not* yet know English.
Money Hungry Martha's spirit attempts to influence you from within the item. As long as you have the item, you gain the following Condition: As long as this item is in your possession you must make a self-control roll any time your character has an opportunity to aquire personal riches to resist the temptation.

    Loose Ends

    Necromancers in Mexico.

    Imminent Deadly Given by TheSuperChrisb
Yaotl has been reanimated by a cult in mexico, but broke out of their control with the help of the Harbinger. The cult will find you and attempt to assimilate you once more.

Mummies over time have developed the ability to avoid the need for food or water. They tend to have little time for such mortal uses.

You gain the following benefits at all times.

You no longer require any sleep or air in order to survive.

Instead of food and water, you must consume Fermented corn alcohol daily for sustenance. For every day you fail to consume it, you lose a point of Brawn. If your Brawn falls to 0 in this way, you die. Your Brawn is fully restored to normal as soon as you fulfill your dietary needs.

Mummies as they return back to the mortal world begin to reclaim their spirit and use the world around them to evoke their inner strength. A bit of dust begins to swirl around the target and then beetles and flies begin to make a circle to protect them. This affect drains the user and calling upon the forces of nature make any one tired.

    chimalli means to protect

Brian now has a new tattoo on his chest that shows as Aztec shield/protector.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction to activate. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. Roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome Damage. Half the damage absorbed is reflected back at the attacker, which they can Defend against as normal. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor, and is treated like Armor by any effects such as Armor Penetration. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.

You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see swarms of flies and beetles.

After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

    • If you use this Effect as a Reaction to dodge, you still need to make a roll to dodge. The Effect will occur regardless of the Outcome of this roll, but if you fail you will be hit by the relevant attack prior to the Effect occurring.
    • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

    Legendary Artifacts

    Demon Mask

Created and held by Yaotl Setepenre (Brian).
    Wooden red mask

Mummies are well known in the supernatural world with the ability to reach out to others through odd means. Brian takes the Martha's mask that he recently acquired and uses it to focus his message. He sits and concentrates as he lights a few candles. He reaches through the aether to speak with those that need him.

Spend an Action to activate. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location.

You open up a line of communication to your target, and may converse with them as long as you maintain Concentration

The conversation will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

    • Receiving a message does not force a target to pay attention to you, and they can feel free to ignore your message if they choose. Depending on the flavor of your Gift, they may or may not be able to return to it and read it later on.
    • Generally you cannot communicate with Contractors who are not in a Contract with you.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
