Building Custom Powers

Whenever a Contractor succeeds in one of the Harbingers’ Games, they are rewarded with a Gift that awakens their latent Powers. Each Contractor’s Powers are utterly unique.

Almost any Character Concept is possible in The Contract. New Players will feel most comfortable customizing one of the premade Stock Powers, but experienced Players often prefer to build their own from scratch.

Form an idea of what Power you’d like to create before continuing.

Contractors may only receive Powers that fit their concept. A ninja will get Powers that help them sneak, climb walls, and assassinate foes, but they’re unlikely to get Powers that raise the dead or allow them to fly. Instead of thinking “what Powers do I need?” think “what should my Contractor be able to do?”

Once you have an idea for a Power, consider its overall effect and choose an appropriate Base Power to get started.
