The mad scientist produces thorium cores that can be used to upgrade tools and other devices. The core supercharges the item, increasing its quality and rendering it indestructible for a period. However, once the core runs dry, the object is rendered less useful than it was before. The core crackles with blue electricity while active.
Spend 1 Action and use up this glowing blue disk. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. Cannot be used to improve Armor.
Lasts the next two hours. Your target receives 2 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +2 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed.
After the Effect ends, any upgraded targets suffer a -2 dice penalty until they are either repaired or upgraded again.
Activated via being picked up or the target catching the coin, upon being noticed, the dollar coin will proceed to supernaturally shimmer, causing anybody to have noticed it within a 20 feet radius to become starstruck, unable to take their eyes off of it.
Use up this dollar coin and spend an Action to turn holding the coin into a trap. This trap lasts until triggered or disarmed. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
The trap looks like holding the coin. Only those who have seen this trap before can identify it as a trap. Anyone who is aware of the trap may intuitively avoid, trigger, or destroy it.
Any Sapient, Living target within within 50 feet that uses the trap as holding the coin will trigger it. All affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
When the trap is triggered, the targets will keep their full attention focused on the trap for contested Outcome in minutes. They will automatically fail any rolls related to noticing anything other than the trap. If they cannot perceive the trap through Sight for three Rounds, the Effect is broken. The Effect ends early if the target is Injured or violence occurs nearby.
This does not affect the target’s opinion of the trap or their mood, and they may take any Actions while affected (including attacking), as long as that action centers on the trap. Fascinated targets cannot Concentrate.
Whenever Darius is getting attacked, Kurma will pop out of his card and block whatever attack may have hit Darius.
This Effect activates whenever Darius is attacked. It does not require an Action or Exertion.
Summon a single Kurma the Tortoise at your location. They will last for two hours, or until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM and will not necessarily obey your commands. You may have at most 1 minion active at a time.
Dominic withdraws the auto-injector and injects it into the target object , the machine automatically calculating the dose for him and then, he begins to speak as the target's eyes go cloudy and they answer the next question asked to them in a dazed state before devolving into a rambling state as they begin to confess their innermost traumas and secrets as well as the truth of whether or not they are mind controlled agents of the deep state.
Use up this An auto injector of nanite laced flouride (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7) and spend an Action to turn A drink, or other consumable. into a trap. This trap lasts until triggered or disarmed. Roll 11 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
The trap looks like A drink, or other consumable.. Only those who have seen this trap before can identify it as a trap. Anyone who is aware of the trap may intuitively avoid, trigger, or destroy it.
Any Sapient target within within arm's reach that uses the trap as A drink, or other consumable. will trigger it.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
Any information you gather is spoken aloud and made publicly available.
The nail, such a symbol of devotion but burning with suppressed demonic power, pulls apart the skin and reshapes it fully healed.
Use up this accursed nail (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7) and spend 1 minute. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see veins pulse with moving black fluid, eyes bulge and muscles spasm as if briefly possessed.
David Vance takes out what looks kind of like a Tide Pod full of blood, that moves on its own within the plastic, and feeds it to his target. Over the course of 15 minutes, the target's wound begins to stitch itself together, filling in with fresh flesh. After 15 minutes, depending on how compatible the target is with the blood, the fresh flesh will align well with their body and their wound will be healed.
David took the leftover blood in the Vial of Healing and grew bacterial cultures of it, which he then later turned into these consumable ampules. The bacteria when grown and fed, (a quite time-consuming process) are quite adept at healing the new hosts which consume them.
Spend 15 minutes and use up this Soft Plastic Capsule of Moving Blood. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Roll 7 dice at Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
The hacker is capable of crafting bottles of nanites. When poured on a broken object, the nanites go to work restoring it to a functioning state. The goop shimmers and crawls, sparking with blue electricity as it reforms broken parts.
Spend 10 Rounds and use up this a bottle of metallic fluid. Select a Object within arm's reach that is no larger than an SUV. Cannot be used on Alien technology. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target.
The mutant now occasionally lays large, orange-speckled eggs. These Eggs do not hatch nor spoil. If cracked and applied to a chronic injury such as a missing limb, the scar heals completely within the hour. However, any area healed by the egg will forever carry an inhuman appearance as testament to the bizarre method of treatment.
Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.
The user places this slip of paper from the mystic against their head, speaks the inscribed phrase, and envisions a time they wished they were alone. the paper bursts into a shockwave that pushes all weak-minded beings away. The repulsion field can be maintained for several seconds by meditating on the nature of solitude.
Spend an Action and use up this paper with mysterious calligraphy. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
Create a repulsion field which extends out 45 feet from you in every direction, and lasts for the next 3 Rounds. Any beings with 6 Mind or less within the field cannot move any closer towards you. If they were within 45 feet from you when you activated the effect, they are immediately pushed back to the edge of the repulsion field.
You must maintain Concentration during this Effect.
The Future Soldier learned to create foam grenades in their own time period, and they still can, kinda. They look like glowing orange capsules with a rugged rubberized grip. When thrown, they burst into a splash of expanding neon orange foam. The foam hardens in seconds, severely hampering the movement of anyone unlucky enough to have been splashed. Those affected may use their hands or weapons to hack away at the foam and free themselves.
Occasionally, the fuses on these bootleg grenades fails, and they go off immediately.
Spend an Action and use up this small metallic grenade with pin (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Make a thrown attack at a Location within normal attack range. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you are hit as it activates immediately at your present location. The target may roll to dodge or defend, as normal for thrown attacks. The attack does not deal Damage, but the Effect does.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but are reduced to ¼ of their movement speed.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
