Description
Maria breathes a gout of black smoke and glowing cinders toward a creature. The noxious mix swirls directly into their eyes (or other mucus membranes) as if sucked from the air. The smoke will not damage the creature or otherwise impair their senses. Instead, they grow drowsy and soon fall into a deep and troubled sleep filled with revealing visions of Maria. When they awaken, their eyes are gritty with soot.
System
Choose a target within Arm's reach, Exert your Mind, and spend an Action activating this Power. You must roll Charisma + Occult Difficulty 7 (or Charisma +Sleep at Difficulty 6) against the target's Mind. If you are successful, the target grows drowsy for 3 Rounds and then falls asleep for Outcome x 3 minutes. Unconscious or incapacitated targets cannot contest.
While drowsy, the target's Penalty is increased by 3 for all Actions.
The target falls into a deep sleep, but they may still be awoken by taking damage or nearing death from food, water, or air deprivation.
The target’s dreams involve you. They reveal you to be the source of the sleep as well as some secret about yourself. The target is aware that the secret is true, even if the rest of the dream may be written off. Usually, this reveals Maria's true form.
Enhancements
- Out Like a Light (Your target can only be awoken by taking Damage or nearing death for lack of air, water, or food.)
Drawbacks
- Dream Conduit (The target’s dreams involve you. They reveal you to be the source of the sleep as well as some secret about yourself. The target is aware that the secret is true, even if the rest of the dream may be written off.)
