Circumstances describe your situation.
Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.
Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Conditions describe your state of being.
Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.
Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.
Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.
Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.
All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.
You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Oleanna knows magic exists. She knew magic existed since before proof of it started becoming more widespread. It was a passion of hers growing up - of course at first it had been more childlike, but she'd grown out of playing pretend and into doing serious research into phenomena of the supernatural kind. For the life of her, despite all of the magic that seemed to be in the world, she just couldn't figure out how to control it herself.
Once she was grown and free from the confines of home, she studied and studied, taking a job at a library to give herself some basic income and for easy access to all kinds of materials - and an excuse to cover up all the books on strange subjects she kept around. She hunted down every lead on the occult, even taking dives into fictional works for the slightest chance of it being based on something she could work with. She's spent entirely too much money on relics and artifacts that turned out to be fake, chasing after the most obvious tricks just for the faintest sliver of truth, and performed uncountably more stupid and futile rituals than she cares to admit even to herself. She's dived into haunted places, rumored lairs, occult places of worship, and followed the most sketchy traces of the supernatural that she can find.
Despite her best attempts, she's yet to find even a hint of real magic, but she's hungry for that power, and she knows it's close. She knows she'll have it in her hands, and it'll be worth every last bit of the trouble she's gone through.
