Circumstances describe your situation.
Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.
Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Conditions describe your state of being.
Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.
Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.
Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.
Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.
All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.
You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Malik is an archeologisgt. He's wanted to be an archaelogist since he was old enough to tell the difference between sand and stone. He's trained his whole life studying dead cultures but more importantly, the superstitions of those dead cultures and how they apply to the occult of today. He's seen all sorts of magical and mysterious things and he loves his job, but he retired early. On an expedition in a cave in Iran, him and his best friend were going far deeper than they were given permission. They found an incredible amount of evidence of a long forgotten community of sign language speaking folks, and from that expedition many peer-reviewed journals were made and discoveries were found, but in the excitement and Malik's clumsiness, his best friend Rahim was left in the cave to die. Malik knows that there are greater powers out there, and he believes that if given the opportunity to communicate with Rahim again, he'll be able to apologize and clear his conscious of the horrible thing he did.
