As far back as Ying could remember he was always a gangster; ever since he was born in that San Francisco Chinatown he was spinning the block on his opps. Ying tolerated no dissent, no shit talking, if anyone talked on his name he got straight to beating their ass; he barely ever went to school and only ever went enough to graduate, and he was known as the kinda guy who if he found out you were besmirching him he would literally just beat the shit out of you.
From the time Ying was a teenager though he started getting into that life, that kind of transition from just beating people up to literally shooting people; he had gotten involved with the wrong crowd and he needed a way to protect him. Ying started carrying at a young age, he started toting guns and doing things like breaking into houses, robbing people at gunpoint, in general he was just quite the ruffian. Ying couldn't help but think his whole life was going to be like this; he was already in too deep.
Things came to a head with Ying when as a young adult man he was finally caught lacking, and though he didn't die the medical expenses left him destitute and doomed to become homeless. Luckily for Ying though, his time as a criminal had gotten him some connections, and he figured out a way to make money and quick. Ying had discovered that a certain corporation was doing experimental blood-technologies, and under the cover, was actually looking to test experimental technologies on those who were out of luck-and desperate. Ying was essentially broke, penniless, and he was basically set to die in about a few years from organ failure so he decided that with nowhere else to go; he'd go.
Ying ran away from his old life; and decided that he'd stake it all on this last-ditch effort. As he arrived at the facility he learned that the corporation who'd be experimented on for was known as the BoB or Brothers of Blood, a philanthropic company that primarily did research/work on blood-diseases and bloodwork started by a eccentric former Rockstar-now celebrity millionaire known as Count Batimir Feratu. The experiment basically overhauled Ying's entire bloodstream, replacing all the blood in his body with a blood-like enhanced substitute which was loaded with both computerized microparts and various other substances; resulting in his veins glowing but his injuries automatically-clotting: a cure for hemophilia. The only issue is, Ying died in the process; or rather he thought he did.
Ying awoke days later after being thought dead clinically, he was already a missing person so the BoB found it easy to just sweep him under the rug but when he awoke they decided they'd give him a place on the security team as per "Order from Above". Ying was given a new identity, a security service member named Anthony Chang who was assigned to personally guarding Batimir Feratu, as the man had apparently taken interest in this former hoodlum-now cyborg.
Ying found himself also returning to his old criminal life with newfound zeal as his cybernetic enhancements made it so much easier; additionally he no lingered possessed his original identity so it was so much easier to kill as legally he was a missing Deadman. Ying eventaully made a mistake though; when collecting the reward from one of his clients he realized he was Batimir Feratu and Batimir Feratu realized he was Anthony Chang, formerly, Ying Taigen.
Ying now does private work for both rich clientele, government officials, and Batimir Feratu. Ying now serves as a member of Batimir's "Crimson Court" a prestigious secret society of occultists, criminals, and trusted peoples. Ying continues to do work in the hopes of gaining enough connections, wealth, and knowledge to further his cybernetic path; to become a greater being.
