Norwin Ante was forced into shady lines of work from a young age, taking after his father, August. August was a hitman, a renowned hunter with a knack for firearms. Norwin was trained by his father in hand to hand combat, as well as swordsmanship and assassination techniques. Norwin suffered a traumatic experience one day when his father was shot in the head during a training session, an incident he later found out to be a hit that his father's coworker had taken. The event led Norwin to reject ever using a gun for a hit, so as to prove himself better than those who had killed his father. It also took Norwin's ability to speak, though the reason for that is still unknown, even to him. While he took the lives of his targets, he earned money for his younger sister Cryess, who was battling a disease she had contracted at a young age. Norwin also had a younger brother, but he was killed in a car accident with his mother, leaving Norwin to look after Cryess on his own at the age of 18. After a few years of essentially being on his own, he admitted his sister to a hospital and disappeared. While he was gone, he sent funds to the hospital watching over Cryess, and continued his work as a hired "gun", taking contracts that were more dangerous than he'd ever taken before. One particular hit that Norwin had taken left him on the verge of death in the Swiss Alps. He had successfully taken care of his target, a high status political figure that had been siphoning money from the organization who funded the hospital that Cyress was in. But his leg had been broken in a fight with the guard that was hired to protect his target, and he wasn't able to make it to the extraction point in time. Norwin spent a long night in the cold, but was rescued by his father's murderer. This man, who came to be known as "Silk", nursed Norwin back to health and apologized for everything he had done. Norwin slit Silk's throat the next chance he had, and took the dagger that Silk was known to carry. Said dagger became his weapon of choice, and all of his targets since have died to its gleaming point.
