"Commitment, Compassion, Purity, Righteousness" - Core tenants of the Czajkowski Code of Honor.
The Czajkowski family in Knihburg was a minor noble house that prided itself on their knightly traditions and still does despite their significant decline after the rise of the capitalist ruling class, Czajkowski refuses to sell themselves out as the glorified bodyguards of Merchants as so many Knights do in the modern-day and as a result, have lost their lands and wealth as they were politely but firmly shoved into irrelevance, now merely owning an old unimportant countryside manor in a forest. His family are all particularly well-built Pavis that migrated to Knihburg in the past, if a rival house wished to insult Czajkowski's then the first thing brought up would likely be their race. Their Pavis roots however caused the house to traditionally pick an Avian theme for their Armour, typically a regal hawk or intimidating Crow.
Waldemar was raised in the manor alongside his twin sister Vlatka by his parents, Joanna and Mikołaj who drilled into them a strong sense of Honor and Morality that was soaked up like a sponge, there were no servants in the large house so it often fell to the two of them to help out with the chores which built up a healthy amount of muscle(Or character as their Grandfather puts it) even at a young age, which combined with their unusually large builds even within their family to allow them to start training earlier than planned. Every day in the afternoon they would spend hours doing drills with many different weapons, often taught by their Grandfather.
On their 20th Birthday, they were formally Knights of their family and received their weapon and set of Armour, Waldemar got his personalized Zweihander that was dull, unadorned with any finery as per his preferences and picked the Kiwi as the bird he wished to embody to symbolize heritage and honour his parents. Vlatka received a Maul that was made heavier than practical for most and chose the Morepork to symbolize her wish to protect others.
When Waldemar was 23 he attended his first and last Major, he entered the single combat tournament as an independent Knight but shortly before his match was up he was approached to throw the match for money, after he refused they threatened him and left. He easily defeated his combatant, likely the son of an important CEO who was embarrassed by proxy, armorless Assasins were sent to kill Waldemar and forced him to flee the Country.
The four years Waldemar was travelling after fleeing Knihburg were spent helping people where he could and joining groups to do Bounties for money, he travelled to a fair few countries around the northern half of the continent and managed to gain some understanding of the people living there, people were mostly just people at the end of the day. He eventually ended up in the North due to the myriad of problems plaguing the area that he hoped could be mitigated by his help, even if only slightly.
-Code Of Honor-
Commitment: is a combination of both dedication and loyalty. You are loyal and trustworthy, and those that depend upon you are never ignored for your own personal gain. You seek perfection and completion in all of your tasks, and never give up or allow petty failure to stop you.
Compassion: is acting with kindness, empathy, charity, and humility. You are selfless and ignore your personal desires or goals to help those in need.
Purity: is a lifestyle of perfection, demonstrated through the cleanliness of body, mind, and spirit. Cursing, fornication (note: specifically fornication in the unwed sense), lies, and dishonourable tactics in business or warfare are impure.
Righteousness: is the act of being just and valorous, displaying courage in the face of fear, and the willingness to act against evil and dishonour in the world.
