Eric Mare had always been fascinated by marine life. From the time he was a small child, he would spend hours poring over books and documentaries about whales, dolphins, and other creatures of the sea. His family would take him to SeaWorld every summer, where he could watch the shows and learn more about the animals he loved.
However, one summer when he was just ten years old, Eric's world was shattered. While watching a show, he witnessed a killer whale attack and kill one of the trainers. The traumatic event left him with nightmares for a long time. This event was written about in the news of 2010, about how a "psychotic" killer whale named Tilikum attacked and killed a third trainer.
As he grew older, Eric's love for animals did not fade. Instead, it transformed into a passion for animal rights and protection. He began volunteering at local animal shelters and became involved in various environmental and animal rights organizations. He grew especially strong-hearted in his activities when he heard of the death of Tilikum in 2017.
At the age of 23, Eric decided to take action. Eric knew that he needed evidence to prove that SeaWorld was mistreating their animals. He spent countless days researching and gathering information, but was unable to find any concrete evidence of abuse or neglect.
Despite his lack of progress in finding evidence against SeaWorld, Eric refused to give up. He continued to organize protests and speak out against animal cruelty, all on his own. His passion and determination inspired others to join him in the fight, but Eric preferred to work alone.
One day, as Eric was working at the aquarium where he cared for his axolotl, he received a mysterious invitation. It was an invitation to a "game" of sorts, promising to lead him on a path towards achieving his goals of ending animal cruelty and abuse. Knowing he had gathered no leads by himself, he figured that maybe some help from another source would do him some good.
