Some people are weary of the machines of the future. They fear a world where humanity falls dependent on technology. Kenny believes that this future will be a utopia so long as people can "tech responsibly". He strives to understand the advancements required to make the robots of the future (self-driving cars, assistive technologies for the elderly, "super roombas").
His greatest enemy and greatest inspiration are his humble beginnings as a handyman's son. For years he aided his father in all sorts of physically demanding jobs. He would see the hard work and planning that went into all of it and wonder "why is a person still required to do this". This question would drive him to academia much to his parent's delight. He would emerge an engineer with a dream of making the automatons of the future at least when he could afford to build them. For now, he would need to settle for whatever scrap he could find.
