John Breckitt is a pseudo celebrity chef who will risk his life to become a master of chi and spices and end hunger.

He is 25 years old, lives in a moderate appartment, and often appears as long black hair in a bun, one milky green and one blue eye with a scar going over the green one, he is not buff but not fat think power lifter, he is always seen with normal clothes like blue jeans and sometimes a chefs coat on occasion a pack of cigarettes in his arms pocket.

Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.

- Dashing penalizes your Action -1 die per 5 feet.
All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Your finances are in-order, and you can afford to spare some for your Contracting. You have access to $35,000 (or equivalent currency) per Contract.

Conditions

Conditions describe your state of being.

Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.

Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.

Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

Tough You can function under intense pain. Dice penalties from pain are reduced by 2. This includes Body penalty.

Jack of All Trades You are naturally capable of most things, even without any training. When making a roll which utilizes a Primary Ability that you don’t possess, you do not suffer the standard +1 Difficulty penalty, and you receive +1 dice to the roll.

Paranoia You have a natural distrust of everyone around you, and are always on edge looking for threats. You must roll Self Control in order to let another person remain in a position where they could easily hurt you, or to allow someone else to perform a task which is necessary to keep yourself safe. If you fail, you may Exert your Mind to overcome your fear.

Disorder You have a mental or emotional disorder which is chronic and hard to treat.

Loose Ends

Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.

Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.

All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.

You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Biography

John Breckitt is a small time celebrity chef mostly known for making short videos for home cooks teaching them how to make simple but delicious meals for families with ingredients they could buy at the grocery store or find in their cabinet. He has a scar over his right eye due to a incident in a kitchen where a knife went straight towards his head and caught him in the eye. He then started to make content on a streaming platform pretending to be a pirate cook before his eye healed fully now with a milky eye that has a green undertone cause of his original iris color. He's a believes in a nirvana and Buddha and try's to do a good turn daily. Because of his beliefs and his cooking he wants to become the master of chi and spices.
