Xavier Charlemagne is a Sarcastic University Student who will risk his life to become a Hive-mind and coalesce all of humanity within him and ascend to a new collective state of being.

He is 19 years old, lives in a moderately sized apartment near their University, Perth., and often appears as a 6-foot-something Asian man, with brown eyes and dark black hair tied in a ponytail. He wears professional dress clothes and round almost sophisticated glasses.

Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.

All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a field surgery kit for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Pathetic You are so pathetic, no one takes you seriously as a threat. As long as your Brawn rating is 1, opponents must roll Self-Control to attack you instead of other targets in Combat.

Compulsive Liar You have trouble with honesty and generally find it much easier and safer to make things up. Any time you are asked about yourself, or are offering information about yourself, you must succeed a Self-Control roll in order to tell the truth. If you are ever caught in a lie, you must Exert your Mind in order to come clean; otherwise you must attempt to justify the initial lie with more lies.

Biography

Xavier was born in Perth to a middle-class family. Lived a fairly normal life though always had a bit of an ego, and had a more silver tongue than anyone else really realised. When he was a teen he would begin lying about petty stuff like "I didn't break it! Sister did!" or "I don't know where your $20 dollars went!". He kept getting away with it, his lies kept getting bigger and bigger. "My dad owns 'X company'!", and eventually people started believing it, and with enough people believing it parts of his lies became true. Employers hired him, investors invested, followers followed and eventually he secured himself a comfortable living by 18.

While smart enough to get by in school, he exceled at persuading others to help him in studies, often persuading others to help with notes or revision, allowing him to pass off with far better grades then he should have and ending him up in a university for a business degree. While in uni he explored philosophy, if only to make himself seem more intelligent and educated. This started a fascination with supernatural meta-physics and real psychic powers. This culminated in his gift of the Memetic Torch, allowing him to weld his mind to another temporarily and see their thoughts. With his developing egomania and psychic gifts he thought himself the envoy of a new world. The first mind in a legion of many, the progenitor of a psychic hive-mind made of the egos of all of humanity burned together into one entity, and he thinks he will be that entity.
