Igors sank beneath the waves, and in his final wishes he wished that his body joined back into the cycle of life. As his dead body finally reached the ground, cooked to a perfect medium rare by the boiling waters, his body is eaten up by the creatures below. His skeleton is whisked away by the currents to lay rest further away from the island, right next to the bottle of soup that used to be Stample Clog.

Igor Panarin is a hockey goalie who will risk his life to become the ultimate extra-terrestrial communicator and find and contact other sapient species.

He is 20 years old, lives in an apartment, and often appears as a large musclebound idiot.

Igor Panarin lives in tbd, a setting where videos of the supernatural go viral every day.

Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.

- Dashing penalizes your Action -1 die per 5 feet.
All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense or React more than once to a given Action.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 5 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 5). You also take a point of Mind Damage and suffer a Battle Scar as normal.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a surgery setup for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Outcome 4+ puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.
Failed or Botched attempts may be re-attempted at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Outcome 1+ will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar if it caused one.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed or Botched attempts may be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Focused You’re cool under pressure. Stress from Mind Damage is reduced by 2.

Biography

Igor Panarin lives in Brownstock, Jefferson as the colleges renowned hockey goalie. He lives and breathes hockey, often wearing merch for the Jefferson state team, and has posters in his room of the greatest hockey stars. He dreams of being able to play in the big leagues, and rise to the hall of fame as the best goalie. Despite his small intelligence, Igor got in on a scholarship and his teachers let him pass because he's the schools best shot at winning the NCAA Championship. Igor met the Harbinger on his way home from practice one day. After relaxing on a bench staring at the stars, and old man sits down next to him and looks up at the sky. The old man then asks "Did you know there are races out there that also play their own versions of hockey? Wouldn't you like to get to know what otherworldly skills are out there in the stars?" and hands Igor a contract. Igor rubs some rust off the bench, and thumb prints the contract.
