Circumstances describe your situation.
Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.
Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Conditions describe your state of being.
Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.
Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.
Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.
Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.
All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.
You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Maribelle is a former undercover cop who was happily married to a crime investigator in Las Vegas. Something cracked when Belle came home one day to find her 4-year-old son, 6-year-old daughter, and husband brutally murdered. It was believed to be a revenge killing in response to her husband getting close to capturing an infamous serial killer. For ten months, she waited for the killer to be brought to justice. When the case went cold, Belle took matters into her own hands.
Belle's first murder (of the person she believed to be the killer) contributed to a full break in her mental state. With nothing left to lose, she became obsessed with exacting revenge and defending the innocent--a vendetta against all serial killers. After secretly copying numerous files of unsolved serial killer cases, she vanished--at first hiding among the crowds on the Strip where she had worked undercover for several years. The discovery of the murder and Belle's vanishing led to a full investigation, her eventual capture, the discovery of her plans to commit future murders and declined mental health, and her imprisonment in a women's state prison for the insane in Nevada.
Belle has been imprisoned for three years, during which she established herself as mute and generally non-responsive, obedient to the staff (so long as she's wearing a face mask), and intolerant of mistreatment from her peers.
What were the circumstances of your imprisonment? If there is an official, officer, or investigator who caught you, who are they? Maribelle was caught by the Las Vegas chief of police, Antonio Salazar, who was also her Krav Maga instructor and a close friend of the family (her kids called him "Uncle Anto"). Knowing Belle so well, Antonio noticed her initial, cracked mental state (something others mistook for shock and grief). He also checked for evidence of Belle stealing files on the investigation of her husband's murder when she went missing--although he was surprised to discover that she had stolen information on other cases. Antonio led the investigation, eventually discovering Belle's hiding spot in a motel on the Nevada-Idaho border. Against his advice, local law enforcement went in to arrest Belle before Antonio arrived, resulting in an exchange of gunfire and their hospitalization (and Belle being wounded). Nevertheless, Antonio was able to arrest Belle by carefully approaching unarmed while speaking gently and then besting her in close combat. When she finally came to, restrained and being treated for a gunshot wound, Belle became silent and non-responsive even to her close friends and family.
Who is your cell mate? What is your relationship to them? Maribelle's cell mate is Josie Miller, a skinny woman in her late twenties who, one day, murdered three clients in a licensed brothel where she worked. At first glance, Belle and Josie appear to have no relationship. Josie keeps to herself during the day, just like Belle. However, at night she is very talkative (speaking in whispers to not get into trouble and mostly repeating herself). Josie believes her cell mate is deeply listening and even conversing with her despite Belle not visibly reacting or responding. As further evidence of their peculiar friendship, Josie commonly experiences night terrors during which Belle--waking up to whimpers and a shaking bunkbed--stands beside Josie for the duration to prevent her from falling. Belle has even occasionally padded the wall with her own bedding so that Josie doesn't hurt herself.
