Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.

- Dashing penalizes your Action -1 die per 5 feet.
All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a field surgery kit for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Avoidance You are so off-putting, that most people just avoid you. As long as your Charisma rating is 1, you may Exert your Mind to cause someone to ignore or avoid you in a social situation. Any Stealth rolls you make as a part of that attempt get +2 to their Outcome.

Tough You can function under intense pain. Stress from Injuries is reduced by 2.

First Pact with Eddie When you call upon me, I will offer you my pact-binding services to aid you in removing any body parts you wish. In exchange, you will be beholden to do one favor of my choosing for me for each pact such bound - these favors remain redeemable indefinitely, and refusal to perform any such favor shall result in the breaking of the pact. If you are incapable of performing a favor requested and you answer truthfully, the pact shall not be broken - however, the pact will know if you lie about your ability to perform a requested favor. Additionally, so long as the pact remains unbroken, I shall be forbidden from returning any body parts removed from your person by the aforementioned surgical pacts in the previous clauses. Should this pact be broken by yourself, I shall be immediately made aware of its breaking and will be able to witness the manner of its breaking if I so choose - should this pact be broken by myself, all unredeemed favors shall be rendered void, and any remaining obligation
