Biography

Michael murdered an injured whistleblowing coworker, Edward Cochlin, to keep his job on behalf of his higher ups in Delta and Boeing. It wasn’t too hard to commit. Just had to slide a packet into the man’s IV drip without being noticed. He’s spent every moment since regretting it.

Ever since the boss that set him up for the assassination, Carter, has pressured Michael to commit further, smaller crimes for Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Smuggling small packages, delivering messages, and transporting people in the dead of night with no questions asked. In exchange, he’s given Michael some benefits in turn: a higher pay rate, more vacation days, occasional “gifts” of expensive artwork.

Ever since the murder Michael’s been wracked with guilt, and a strange nightmare. Every night Michael dreams he’s a bird, swooping down to a man chained to the rocks. He tears into the man’s belly, screaming out his rage. He feels like he’s been stolen from. “Thief!” He cries out. “Thief! You gave my heart to them!” Some nights the man’s face is Ed’s.

Then Michael feels his wings grow heavy, shackled, and he too is falling. Falling down on the man again, and again, and again, until finally he wakes in a cold sweat in the dark of the morning
