Ollie

A Newbie Contractor played by Ozz in The Torrent

Ollie is a lowly sculptor who will risk his life to become the ultimate Clayman and use the Primordial Dough to forge a society that can truly accept all peoples.

He is 32 years old, lives in a small abandoned home in Portland, Oregon, and often appears as a rough looking giant of a man with multicolored patchwork skin. Carved into his right arm is the word "Ollie".

Ollie lives in The Torrent, a setting where there’s an ongoing torrent of the paranatural.

    Circumstances

    Circumstances describe your situation.

Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.

Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    Finances: Average
    From Assets and Liabilities
You can live stably off your money. You have access to $2,500 (or equivalent currency) per Contract.

    Conditions

Conditions describe your state of being.

Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.

Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.

Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    From Assets and Liabilities
Sensitive You're emotionally fragile, and very likely to be mentally and emotionally scarred by your experiences. You have four Limits, instead of the usual three.
Lanky You are particularly tall and have long limbs. Your "touch" range is ten feet instead of the standard five.
Trained Reflexes Your life has been filled with tight situations and violent encounters, so when the fighting starts, you act quickly. You get +3 dice to all Initiative rolls.
Forgetful Your mind is a sieve, and while you can recall broad strokes, committing anything more detailed to memory is quite difficult. You must roll Mind Difficulty 6 in order to remember any details (locations, names, address, where you left something that you set down, physical descriptions of things, bits of information you were told, etc…) If you fail the roll, you may Exert your mind to remember, but if you botch the roll, you are stuck.

    Loose Ends

Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.

Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.

All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.

You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

    Biography

An alchemist of little renown, Rollo Valli worked alongside a group of his fellow Rosicrucians to discover a way to create a functional substitute to the Philosophers Stone. Their findings eventually led them to the discovery of ancient rumors of "Dough Lords" capable of shifting forms of matter with their mere touch, altering the very being of the world with their will. It differed from the believed processes of The Great Work, it completely neglected the four stages and instantly reached the desired result. A living philosophers stone.

An expedition into the land of clay was far too risky, at any moment the bridge between realms could shatter away and strand the pēlósnaut. Valli chose to volunteer regardless, and with the circle formed, chose to bear witness to the Dough Lords might. He found himself lost in a world beyond comprehension. His senses all melded together, his body becoming one with the world. Skin sloughed off, replaced with smiling dirt and truest water. A new face was carved out with fingers, his form irreparably marred. He was but a gate, stripped of personality and birthed anew through the intended design.

When he awoke from the endless dream, he found himself alone once more. He was without a name, without a clue as to what this world was, all he knew was what laid beyond. The only inkling of a hint that he had to go off of was a single word etched into his arm: "Ollie".
