Verso Tock
Chaos, perfected.

A Newbie Contractor played by Damian in Nightfall

Verso Tock is a Horologist and Saboteur who will risk his life to become a Temporal Saboteur and To dismantle all systems he deems broken even time itself and rebuild them as efficient mechanisms.

He is 23 years old, lives in A repurposed clock tower workshop, and often appears as A short 5’4, wiry figure in a grease-stained engineer’s coat. Jet-black hair with a silver streak, gold-flecked brown eyes behind cracked glasses, and faint freckles. Always carries ticking trinkets and smells faintly of oil and burnt copper.

Verso Tock lives in Nightfall, a setting grounded in the modern day Earth where the supernatural is not hidden, but commodified, militarized, and worshiped.

Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.

Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.

From Assets and Liabilities

Loose Ends

Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.

Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.

All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.

You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Biography

Verso was born into a family of clockmakers, where perfection was measured in milliseconds and flaws were synonymous with failure. His obsession began when he dismantled his first timepiece at age six, fascinated by the idea that tiny, interlocking parts could impose order on chaos. But it was a cursed 17th-century pocket watch—unearthed from a client’s attic—that warped his worldview. When Verso tried to “fix” its erratic ticking, it detonated 24 hours later, killing his family and scarring him with shards of enchanted brass. The blast imprinted Silent Requiem and Bites the Dust a Gifts that let him see reality as a machine—one he now vows to "repair" by any means.
