The bandages on the user's body slither and stretch to wrap around a target injury-- even slipping through any orifices (typically the opening of the wound) to pack and treat internal damage. Once covered, the wound regenerates with the blood infused in the bandages until it heals, after which they retract to their original worn positions.
(Ability: Brawn + BRUTALITY)
Expend a point of Battery and spend 1 minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you take a Severity-4 Injury as the bandages crush and constrict you in the process. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Brawn + Melee at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. Your patient is required to consume a pint of human blood for every subsequent day for the next month. If they violate this rule, your treatment is immediately reversed.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see bandages twisting and slithering like monstrous tendrils.
The bandages become alive as new blood is infused with the existing blood within, extending and twisting out into a set of four distinct strands. They operate like tendrils that slither and stretch, and can be used to pull, wrap, and crush things using the user's own strength.
Exert your Mind (unless asdf) and spend an Action. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you asdf.
You gain 4 additional limbs that function as standard human arms and hands. Lasts two hours.
Each additional limb you posses can take one Quick Action per Round without incurring a -2 dice penalty to your main Action. Each additional appendage you have gives you +1 dice to make and resist Grapples (up to a maximum bonus of +4 dice).
Any Battle Scars that affect or remove your additional limb will heal in a single week.
Your extra appendage can stretch to reach an additional 30 feet.
You may dedicate your extra Quick Action to contest any attempt to escape your Grapples. If you do so, you roll your full dice pool to contest and retain your Action to do anything that does not target the subject of your Grapple.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see blood-soaked bandages twisting and slithering like monstrous tendrils.
Your Extra Appendage is incapable of fine object manipulation.
Single shot bolt action rail gun that fires a high density tungsten slug
This Artifact can be used as a heavy sniper rifle. It is roughly the same size as a heavy sniper rifle and just as difficult to conceal.
Attack by rolling Dexterity + Firearms, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +5 Weapon Damage.
You also gain the following effects:
When affixed to a length of wood or metal, and wielded in adverse weather, this gem can redirect the weather away from it’s holder, and in a direction that will experience the entire might of the tool. The damage it can do is entirely dependent on the weather, such as a blinding flare in a drought, cutting winds in a hurricane, or a crushing wave in a flood.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a target within 50 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless you are in strong weather. Roll Intellect + Survival Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
You may choose to have this Effect Damage all targets in a perfectly straight line up to its maximum range.
A metal whale pendant the size of a lighter on the surfer necklace. When flying around, the necklace glows and several tiny remora pendants appear on it.
Joe effortlessly detaches the whale pendant and chucks is up into the air. Somehow it continues soaring upwards at an increasing speed, easily out of view. A minute or two later, a massive semi-ridged airship appears above--a living humpback whale with metallic skin that floats as easily in the sky as the ocean.
Up to 14 adult passengers (or the equivalent in weight) can safely ride within Koholā's mouth and peer out through a semi-transparent baleen. Despite the exterior, the interior is an odd-shaped spacious room complete with seating that can be converted into small beds, a kitchenette, a storage room, and a restroom.
This Artifact can be used as a Zeppelin NT blimp. It is roughly the same size as a Zeppelin NT blimp but can be collapsed into metal whale pendant and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Quick Action.
This Zeppelin NT blimp has echolocation, is unusually heavy with thick bubbery walls (3 Armor), and is internally warm/insulated. Any roll to pilot this vehicle receives +2 dice.
You also gain the following effects:
This item is a living thing. When targeted, it counts as a Living Creature in addition to its other target types. If destroyed or abandoned for more than two days, it dies and becomes unusable.
The user manifests the barrier between the physical and fictional world by calling upon their personal character. The ink from the cartridges surround the user's target, which then make the target appear to be cell shaded-- with the strength of the shading depending on the strength of the barrier.
Spend an Action. Select a Animate target within arm's reach. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome +4 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. This Artifact may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
The barrier will fall after two hours, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 1.
The user holds onto their cape and channels their spirit through it, allowing them to fly through the air like many iconic superheroes. As they fly at higher speeds, motion lines and an occasional 'whoosh' may trace behind them to indicate their trajectory.
Exert your Mind (unless you are in a major metropoliton area) and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: mage ritual. You must use up a cartridge of ink in order to activate this Effect. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. This Effect remains active for two hours.
As long as you are conscious, you are immune to falling Damage and may hover in place mid-air. Additionally, you may glide as you fall, traveling 35 feet horizontally for every 10 feet you fall. While gliding, you fall at a minimum speed of 10 feet per Round.
You may ascend into the air and fly using your mind. Your Free Movement is Mind x5 feet/Round, including vertically. You cannot Dash. When sprinting, roll Mind and add your rating in Mind plus 1 to the outcome, multiply by 5 to find your sprint speed. Your encumbrance limit is 10 lbs per point of Mind.
You are subject to the following effects while gliding or flying:
The Paragon super-suit is no ordinary set of armor. Imbued by the forces of heroism and morality themselves, the suit is capable of protecting against an additional layer of harm, as well as remaining indestructible now matter what harm falls upon it.
This Artifact cannot be broken. If this Artifact is lost and in no one else’s possession, it finds its way back to its true owner during the next Downtime.
By default, the creator of this Artifact is its true owner. The true owner may formally bequeath this Artifact onto another person within arm’s reach, after which they are its true owner. If the true owner dies or is destroyed, their ownership ends. If this Artifact has no true owner, anyone may spend one day attuning to it to become its true owner.
If this Artifact is in no one else’s possession, its true owner may Exert their Mind and spend two Actions to bring it to themselves.
The user can understand and be understood by any being thanks to the suit's ability to translate. As they speak, their message is transcribed through a speech bubble that appears next to them in an inky, comic book style, where their words are also dubbed over in the event they cannot be read. On their end, any messages they receive can be understood through a series of text bubbles that they can only see.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. You must use up a cartridge of ink in order to activate this Effect.
You may understand and communicate to Creatures, humans, and Sapient beings as if you are fluent in a relevant language for the next hour.
This also includes understanding any recorded communications from the relevant targets, including writings, scent trails, etc.
Uso mi móvil para hablar con la gente, conecto directamente con su mente y sus respuestas me llegan al móvil.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location.
You open up a line of communication to your target, and may converse with them as long as one of you maintains Concentration
The conversation will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.
The Future Soldier's PSG is capable of briefly supercharging its effectiveness with a jolt of Omega Cell energy. While active, the future soldier glows with an extremely bright golden light.
While the shield is supercharged, the Future Soldier cannot move or see the outside world, but they are completely isolated from anything that occurs outside the shield.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action or Reaction.
You phase out of reality for up to 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.
When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.
You leave a golden glow shaped like yourself at your location.
The Scepter of Ang-Kapal is a gruesome device fashioned to look like a skeletal arm clutching a glass eye. When used, blood from the person holding is drawn into the eye where it swirls with dark energy. The eye turns to a nearby corpse and shudders, reviving the creature. The creature does not retain any of its memories or personality, but it is absolutely loyal to whoever is holding the scepter.
The Scepter of Ang Kepal has the unfortunate side effect of driving its owner mad.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
The spy can do up their passport to appear as any valid form of identification.
This Artifact can change its appearance. When not transformed, it is roughly the same size as a passport but can be collapsed into a wallet and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Quick Action.
Spend a Quick Action to activate. This Artifact changes its appearance into a chosen Object. This lasts until you decide to end the Effect, which may be done as a Free Action.
The new object's appearance can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), but must be of a similar size and weight to this Artifact.
The new appearance is illusory; it will hold up to scrutiny, but its composition is not altered and it gains no new functionality. Any attempt to use it for a function which it cannot perform (for instance, making bread look like a knife and then trying to stab someone) will cause the illusion to fail or allow a Perception check to see through the illusion, at the GM's discretion.
When used as identification and scanned, the scanner will act appropriately and bring up appropriate generic information. Further searches for the identity in the computer will turn up no results. This will not open security doors on its own.
"The Coffin" can only be used to store things commonly found in coffins, such as bodies, clothes, jewelry, photos, weapons, coins, and similar.
This Artifact holds 5 times what it normally could inside of it. Objects stored inside are weightless. Unless you are storing something commonly found in coffins, this Artifact behaves as its mundane counterpart. This Effect cannot be used unless you are storing something commonly found in coffins.
Living things can be stored in this Artifact. They will have access to anything else inside and may attempt to break free, damaging or destroying the Artifact in the process.
If this Artifact is destroyed, things inside may get out, and it will cease to function until it is repaired.
When scanned or investigated without opening, the contents of this container appear normal and unremarkable.
On a Downtime, you may change this Artifact from one type of container to another. Maximum once per Downtime.
If anyone other than you opens the container, it appears empty. Others can still destroy it to get at the contents.
The Skeleton Key slips easily into any keyhole and turns without a fuss.
Spend an Action.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open any number of doors, containers, knots, or locks within arm's reach of you. Cannot be used on Alien technology.
If you successfully operate a lock, you may choose to destroy it, rendering it inoperable.
