You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You may communicate to humans and Sapient beings as if you are fluent in a relevant language.

This also includes understanding any recorded communications from the relevant targets, including writings, scent trails, etc.

  • The target of "human" refers to any target that speaks a human language.
  • When reading written communications, you get no information beyond what the writer was intending to communicate.

Community Artifacts

Coin of Favors

Created and held by Blake Ellsworth.
A silver coin about the size of a 50-cent piece

Blake rolls the coin along his knuckles.

Exert your Mind and spend at least one Action. Select a Human target within 20 feet. Your target may be actively engaged in Combat. Communicate a command to your target. Roll Charisma + Alertness at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.

If the contested Outcome is positive, your target will be compelled to follow your command to their best understanding of the letter and spirit of the command until they have completed it or for your Outcome in hours. You cannot issue another suggestion to the target until 10 minutes after they have completed the first command or 10 minutes after a failure.

The target is unaware that they are under supernatural influence and feel they are acting of their own free will. If you fail, they realize that you were attempting to influence them supernaturally with your command.

Your command can be an order to take an immediate Action and a conditional request. You cannot order a target to "do nothing," and they are free to take other Actions as they fulfill your request. Your command cannot be obviously self-destructive. The Effect ends if following your command would cause a target to cross one of their Limits in a way that would necessitate a Trauma roll.

  • You cannot order your target to endanger themselves, but you may order them to flee, attack a certain target, take a defensive or offensive stance, or similar.
  • The target must be able to understand you and must receive your communication for the suggestion to work.
  • Allowed Commands
    • Conditional Request: implants a triggered response or latent order. (e.g. "when you see your mom, give her a kiss" or "when I give the signal, strip naked and pretend you're possessed by the devil.")
    • Direct Order: The target must take an immediate action (e.g. “Sit down,” "run away," or "tell me your password.")
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The Black Bag

Created and held by Allison Cooper.
On the outside.. it a normal bag although their are patches on the bag for local food charities and even bigger charities for donations. One of the noticable patches is a "Help Feed the Homeless!" in Red text on a black background. The material of the bag seems to be of a kevlar type matieral although it doesn't feel like Kevlar.

Looking on the outside the backpack seem completely normal with nothing out of place.. although that all changes when the bag is opened a dark greenish mist begins to pools inside the bag. from the opening as you peer into the bag you see a bright green eyes stare back at you.. although they seem content with just watching you. As you reach into the bag you seem to find whatever you were searching for.

For anyone else who opens the bag it seems to be an empty bag with nothing in it.

One night as Allison was trekking through the forests of upstate New York enjoying her day. As she was making her up Mount Mercy she came across a hurt dog in a middle of clearing.

Upon seeing the hurt dog, Allison quickly went to go save the dog as she felt immediately sadness, as she went to grab her Medical kit she realized that she left at home due to not having the room to carry it.

As she held the dog in her arms smoothing over the dogs fur, as she sat there the dog would slowly dissolve into a dark greenish mist as it flowed around her she would freak out as she jumps up and backs away.

However as she would back away the mist would follow her. As she would move around attempting to get away from the mist it would follow her anywhere she went, eventually Allison would open her bag to let the mist in, as she does this the Mist seems to get a tad bit excited as it moves into the bag.. Which becomes a friend of the person wearing the bag.

This Artifact can be used as a container. It is roughly the same size as a Black Backpack and just as difficult to conceal.

Your Black Backpack holds 3 times what it normally could. Objects stored inside are weightless.

Living things can be stored in your Black Backpack. They will have access to anything else inside and may attempt to break free, damaging or destroying the Black Backpack in the process.

If your Black Backpack is destroyed, things inside may get out, and it will cease to function until it is repaired.

When scanned or investigated without opening, the contents of your container appear normal and unremarkable.

If anyone other than you opens the container, it appears empty. Others can still destroy it to get at the contents.

This item is a living thing. When targeted, it counts as a Living Creature in addition to its other target types. If destroyed or abandoned for more than two days, it dies and becomes unusable.

  • There is no cost to use your container.

ArCANis Spray Can

Created by Delphyrion Arcanis, given to The Fentinator.
Just a spray can with a colourful label. What's important is Delphyrion's addition to the contents: a rubbery substance that sprays out in a rainbow mist.

The spray can releases a rainbow mist that coats you in a translucent, glittery purple substance that's incredibly hard to destroy. It resembles rubber (pliable and flexible) so it allows you a full range of motion. This armour can be taken off, though it has to be reapplied using the ArCANis Spray Can.

On source material:
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs has always been a classic. The shoes Flint Lockwood had seemed to be made of some elastic biopolymer adhesive that stuck to his feet until it wore off a few days later. At first he was pretty disappointed by it, but Delphyrion was interested in how Flint couldn't destroy it at all.

On applications:
It is actually quite useful as sealant for plumbing and other repairs. Actually, Delphyrion derived the substance from Flex Seal, which was used for roofs. Since it would be stationary with this usage, unlike how a person would constantly move around, it takes a while for the spray to wear off. Delphyrion has tested it out on a number of equipment and it has almost always been successful. That is, until he tried using it to fix his glassware. Those kept exploding no matter what they were used for.

On rainbow spray:
It was actually an accident that the spray ended up being rainbow-coloured; they didn't expect it to be anything like the movie, but Delphyrion's very satisfied with it. It just gives the armour a nice sheen, like the psychedelic colours on the surface of an oil spill. Also, it's gay.

On clothing:
Wear your clothes. Literally, this is not an alternative for clothing. This stuff is translucent so chances are that people can actually see what's underneath. If you're really brave (and not afraid of indecency charges) it'd generally look like you're wearing a skintight jumpsuit. Or, like, spray it on top of your clothes.

On the spray can:
It's just a regular spray can with a label on it. Also, Delphyrion's last name is Arcanis. Hence, ArCANis, get it?

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You have 4 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack. Called Shots may circumvent your Armor, depending on its coverage.

You may spend an Action or Reaction and Exert your Mind to double your Armor rating for one Round.

Any Injury received from Damage that was reduced by this Armor is considered Makeshift Stabilized and will not degrade further, and any Battle Scar caused by them is reduced by 1 level. You may attempt a single Proper Stabilization on such Injuries.

  • This Effect’s Armor rating cannot be increased by any other Effects.

blasphemous necklace

Created and held by blake.
a necklace adorned with an inverted cross, with the body of Edgard nailed to it

Blake channels his mana while holding a necklace adorned with an inverted cross, with the body of Edgard nailed to it, his eyes glowing with a malevolent light as he whispers a dark incantation. Suddenly, eerie cracks apear all around the target from dark red portals with fire spewing out from the. The gates to hell are open, and flaming chains burst from them, their links glowing red-hot and dripping with molten metal. These chains, forged in the deepest pits of hell, wrap around his target with an eerie speed, their heat searing flesh and sending up a sickening sizzle, at the moment of activation, if anyone was looking at the cracks they may see humans being tortured by demons in the most horrible ways they can imagine.

Spend an Action. Select a target within 20 feet. Roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6. The target may contest by Defending or Dodging.

If you succeed, your target will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They cannot move to a new location, and, if your Contested Outcome was greater than their Brawn, they are encased and cannot take any physical Actions other than attempting to escape until they break free.

The target may spend an Action and roll Brawn or Dexterity + Athletics to attempt to break free. They must accumulate a total Outcome equal to or greater than the original Contested Outcome to escape. Damage to the binding from outside sources also contributes.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see cracks in the earth as a mini portals to hell opens up.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • For entities whose movement could be considered an attack (e.g. a kaiju), the GM may rule that they are merely slowed instead of fully restricted.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Blke holds his necklace chains straight from hell wraps around his cloak heat starts to rise as the Phoenix tries to fight it and cries of pain from the hell flames, a heart wrenching cry of absolute agony, but once it fails, the chains starts dragging an instance of the Phoenix power out of the cloak. A small Phoenix with chains all around him as he is forced to submit to blake.

Remark:the Phoenix comes out from a Phoenix tattoo on the cloak, and when it dies it turns into flames and goes back there

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you an enemie Phoenix spawns ith the sole goal of kiling blake. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.

Summon a single Phoenix at your location. They will last until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. This Artifact may have at most 1 minion active at a time.

  • Actions: Minions cannot dodge or Defend. Any Perception checks they make are rolled with 8 dice.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see the cries of pain from the Phoenix.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.

Banishment Knot Charm

Created by Frank Lambert, looted by Edgar Stokes.
A piece of rope tied into a mystic knot

By Placing The Mystic Knot forward and giving your mind and will into the Knot you can begin banishing evil creatures.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Animate target within arm’s reach. This Effect cannot be used unless Can Only Be Used On Ghosts, Demons, Spirits, and Undead. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Roll Dexterity + Occult at Difficulty 6. Your target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 7.

If you succeed, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes one of the following symptoms:

  • Brain Fog: The target’s thoughts are muddled and incoherent. They must succeed a Mind roll to remember details of things, at Difficulty 7 for old details and Difficulty 9 for things which occurred while afflicted. They also take a -2 penalty to all mental actions, which grows by -1 every hour until it reaches your Outcome.
  • Psychotic Episodes: The target must make a Trauma roll each hour at a -1 dice penalty, increasing each hour until it reaches your Outcome.
Symptoms begin to appear immediately, and will remain and continue to worsen until the affliction is cured. The affliction is not contagious and will not spread to others.

The affliction is not treatable by modern medicine. It may be diagnosed by rolling Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6, and can be cured by Be Blessed By someone of the Buddhist faith.

This Effect ends if you are stunned, fall asleep, go unconscious, are incapacitated, die, or if your total Penalty ever exceeds 5.

  • Successfully diagnosing an affliction also includes information about the treatment method.
  • The chosen method of treatment must be something that you could obtain in a small town given an afternoon.
  • Curing an affliction removes the Condition, but does not automatically heal any Injuries, Battle Scars, or Traumas which may have been caused by that condition.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Stock Legendary Artifacts

Personal Shield Generator

The device itself is a metal hexagon that is worn on the belt and glows when active.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action or Reaction.

You phase out of reality for up to 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.

You leave a golden glow shaped like yourself at your location.

  • If you use this Effect to dodge as a Reaction, it succeeds without the need for a roll. Cannot be used as a Desperate Defense.
  • You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.

This Artifact can change its appearance. When not transformed, it is roughly the same size as a passport and just as difficult to conceal.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. This Artifact changes its appearance into an Object within the category of forms of identification. This lasts until you decide to end the Effect, which may be done as a Free Action.

The new object's appearance can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), but must be of a similar size and weight to this Artifact.

The new appearance is illusory; it will hold up to scrutiny, but its composition is not altered and it gains no new functionality. Any attempt to use it for a function which it cannot perform (for instance, making bread look like a knife and then trying to stab someone) will cause the illusion to fail or allow a Perception check to see through the illusion, at the GM's discretion.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.

Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.

The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.

Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.

Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.

Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.

  • The called shot requires 4 Outcome dealing 4+ Damage or 6 Outcome dealing 2+ Damage.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You have 6 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack.

Your Armor cannot be destroyed, and it always provides a minimum of 2 Armor regardless of any Armor penetration. It cannot be circumvented with Called Shots.

Any time your Armor prevents damage, your total Armor rating is temporarily decreased by 1. Whenever you go two Rounds without preventing any damage, it is restored back to its full value.

  • Armor recharging happens automatically and does not require an Action.

This Effect activates whenever you are submerged in salt water. It does not require an Action or Exertion.

You transform into small for two hours or until you choose to end the Effect. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you cannot use your Active, Direct, or Trap Powers. However, you can use your Passive Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

  • When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.
  • Creature Stats
    • Medium (large house cat up to human) Body 3. Brawn 1. Dexterity 3. Fall damage reduced by 1.
All creatures get +3 dice to any non-combat Action that they are naturally adapted for. All creatures Medium and larger may attack by rolling Body, dealing +0 Damage (+1 for “predators”). Gms and Playgroup leaders can apply other bonuses and effects to specific animals.
  • Animals that are quicker than humans (like dogs) have 50 feet of Free Movement. Animals that are very slow (like turtles) have 0 feet of Free Movement.
  • You cannot transform if there is not enough room to do so.
