Some sort of title belt sold by an unknown wrestling promotion, its small foam frame stretched almost to breaking point around 'Big' Jim Newman's hulking form.

Within the confines of the packed courtroom, no-one spotted the torrent of flying nails headed directly for the lead witness, Gladys Newman.

None except for BIG JIM.

The eagle-masked wrestler leapt down from the rafters to the awe of the jury and blocked the ensuing torrent of sharp projectiles with his gloves, giving a knowing glance to Gladys before sprinting straight for the freaky Elvis impersonator responsible.
Big Jim charged at Vito, ramming him through a solid wooden wall and slamming him into the ground, whilst a disembodied announcer screamed somewhere.

"BY GAWD, HE MUST BE BROKEN IN HALF!--"


You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact and you are engaged in unarmed combat.

+2 dice to rolls for Attacking, Defending, and Clashing without a weapon. Unarmed attacks do +0 Weapon Damage (instead of -1).

Possession of this Artifact causes the following Battle Scar to manifest over the course of a day: Immovable wrestling mask. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Battle Scar heals over the course of the next day.

You may Defend against melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks from any range and Clash with those in range of your Attacks. Attacking materials like steel or spikes will not Damage you unless it has an Effect that does so.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Body Slam: If you move and then make a successful attack against a target with a Brawn rating less than or equal to yours, if your target was closer than the full distance you could have moved, you may knock them back the excess movement distance and choose whether or not to follow them.
  • Bodyguard: You may use your Reaction or a Desperate Defense to Defend against any Attack where the attacker, target, or line of fire is within 15 feet. If you do so, you may opt to take the Damage from the Attack instead of the target.
  • Brutal Strikes: If your attack inflicts a Battle Scar, you may choose which of the appropriate-severity Battle Scars the target suffers. If it causes a less severe Injury, you may inflict a Minor Battle Scar of your choosing.
  • Jiu-Jitsu:When you successfully grapple an opponent, you may choose to also deal damage to them equal to the Contested Outcome on the grapple roll.

  • The total damage of a ju-jitsu grapple-attack is equal to your Outcome minus their Outcome. Bonus Damage from the Bonus Damage Parameter does not apply to damage dealt through this Enhancement.
  • Unlike the Ability Brawl, this Effect does not affect small weapons such as knives.

Community Artifacts

T.R.A. 2.0 Smartwatch

Laz's personal smartwatch with built in Nanotech dispenser and scar reconstruction app.

In addition to its normal function, this device has a strange app or mode titled "Reconstruction". Opening it causes the device to scan you and collect a DNA sample from your skin. The device will then analyze your DNA and prompt you to select or describe the needed repair, before dispensing a quantity of grey/green "goo" from its charge port, which will reconstruct your tissues, bones, and organs to restore the affected area. The whole process takes about an hour. The app shows a "Nanite" level indicator that when used will reduce by 33% The bar will fill 33% over the course of one day. Any attempt to use the device with the nanite level below 34% will elicit a response of "Insufficient fuel".

With his Mind/machine interface in place, Doctor Lazcowicz is now experimenting with new functions. In this case, after extruding a small number of nanites into an existing computer, smartphone, or smartwatch he can use them to reconstruct the internals of the device. Enhancing onboard cameras into medical scanners and using the raw materials of the circuit boards within to construct a nanite factory, the device now acts as a controller and dispenser for specialized nanite piles that will reconstruct scarred and damaged body parts at a cellular level to make them good as new! with their micronized technology, they can even preserve the original function of the device by recreating its circuitry on a nanotic scale. Mundane functions still require normal power though, and trying to power on the device when the mundane battery is dead will allow only use of the "Reconstruction" app.

Attempting to dispense nanites while charging the normal battery is... ill advised.


Expend a point of Battery and spend an hour. Select a Battle Scar on yourself to treat.

The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect.

Not too many things in this world can survive a prolonged contact to a running steel blade - Especially so under a heavy hand with intent.
It's to no surprise that an entire chainsaw will shred just about anything that dare come into contact with it, but through the sparks and giblets that this may create, the only merciful thing that is beheld is the handle to user.


This Artifact can be used as a great sword / giant axe. It is roughly the same size as a great sword / giant axe and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +6 Weapon Damage. The target's fully effective

You also gain the following effects:

  • Blade Breaker: If you successfully Defend against a melee attack or if an opponent is unsuccessful at Defending against your melee attack, you may break your opponent's weapon.
  • Shredder: If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. This penalty lasts until the armor is repaired.

  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

This Artifact can be used as a club / improvised weapon. It is roughly the same size as a club / improvised weapon and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +3 Weapon Damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • This melee weapon may extend for a single attack up to 50 feet away. Retracting back into its usable size is a Quick Action.
  • Shredder: If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.

  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

the excali-shovel is struck against the ground almost like a shoveling motion which causes a strange little creature appearing like a small imp-like thing made of dirt. it follows the person holding the excali-shovel closley. the dirt baby can rip part of itself out and toss it towards anyone deemed a target by the wielder of the shovel these bits of dirt erupt in a small magical burst on contact and the dirt baby quickly heals itself by absorbing more material from the ground beneath it


Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action.

Summon a single dirt baby at your location. They will last for two hours, or until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. This Artifact may have at most 1 minion active at a time.

  • Attacking: Minions can make ranged attacks at targets up to 30 feet away with 5 dice to attack and +1 Damage.
  • Body: Minions have 4 Body.
  • Movement: Minions can move 20 feet per Round as Free Movement, and double that when performing an all-out Sprint.
  • Intelligence: Minions have dog-level intelligence, and cannot communicate back to you. They cannot actively use Equipment.
  • Actions: Minions cannot dodge or Defend. Any Perception checks they make are rolled with 3 dice.

Terra Incognita

Created and held by Marcielle Hallowes.
A tightly packed ball of dirt, interwoven with thin roots that pulse like blood vessels. It is about the size of a human eye, and occasionally leaves or green stalks will pull themselves free, only to be reabsorbed. When held in the same place for long enough, small roots emerge to help anchor it in place.

A thick green stem emerges from Terra Incognita, topped with a large bulb. In a matter of moments, the bulb blooms into a large, vibrant sunflower. The petals are yellow, streaked with smeared red, and the florets in the middle are swirled into the shape of an eye. The sunflower constantly and visibly turns to face the warmest thing in front of it.

Marcielle’s third attempt at cultivating the perfect crop. An unequivocal failure.


Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action.

Your senses are enhanced in the following way. Lasts for three hours.

  • Electroreception: You may detect electromagnetic fields, electric currents, and even neurological activity in a 50 foot radius from yourself at all times. When detecting neurological activity, you learn nothing but the creature's rough size.
  • Thermal: You are able to "see" heat signatures within your line of sight.

Any senses which have been heightened cannot be overloaded. Battle Scars you receive cannot affect these senses. If one of these senses does become suppressed, you may Exert your Mind to end the effect.

  • Examples of overloading a sense include: an explosion causing temporary deafness, a bright light causing blindness, a sedative causing numbness, etc.
  • When you are within 50 feet of range, your electroreception sense is sufficient for aiming.
  • Your thermal vision allows you to judge temperatures of surfaces fairly accurately as long as they are within livable temperatures.

This Artifact can be used as a sword / axe. It is roughly the same size as a sword / axe but can be collapsed into A sword necklace around her neck and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Quick Action.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +4 Weapon Damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Virtuoso's Vessel: When using this Device for its primary purpose, you always roll a minimum of 8 dice. Excludes Effect activation rolls.

  • If there is not enough free space to expand the object, it cannot be expanded. You cannot expand this Object as an attack.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

Stock Legendary Artifacts

The Coffin

"The Coffin" is a black, alligator-skin briefcase made to look like its namesake. The interior is coated in red, quilted leather. It is quite a bit larger on the inside, appearing to stretch backwards like a dark passageway.

This Artifact holds 5 times what it normally could inside of it. Objects stored inside are weightless. Unless you are storing something commonly found in coffins, this Artifact behaves as its mundane counterpart. This Effect cannot be used unless you are storing something commonly found in coffins.

Living things can be stored in this Artifact. They will have access to anything else inside and may attempt to break free, damaging or destroying the Artifact in the process.

If this Artifact is destroyed, things inside may get out, and it will cease to function until it is repaired.

When scanned or investigated without opening, the contents of this container appear normal and unremarkable.

On a Downtime, you may change this Artifact from one type of container to another. Maximum once per Downtime.

If anyone other than you opens the container, it appears empty. Others can still destroy it to get at the contents.

  • You cannot change the container's type if you are not in possession of it.
  • A container of holding cannot be placed inside another created by the same Gift.
  • There is no cost to use this container.

The Axe of Legend

This electric guitar has one edge sharpened into a deadly blade. It can be used as either sort of axe.

This Artifact can be used as a sword / axe. It is roughly the same size as a sword / axe and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +4 Weapon Damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Mjolnir: You may call your weapon back to your hand as a Quick Action if it is within 50 feet of you. Can only be used on melee weapon that you have wielded in the past hour.
  • Shredder: If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.

  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within within arm's reach. All Sapient targets within 20 feet are affected. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is looking directly into the device with uncovered eyes. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.

If the contested Outcome is positive, the most recent 1 hour from your target’s memory is either replaced with new memories or forgotten entirely. This is recorded as a Condition. The level of detail and completeness of the alteration depends on your Outcome. If you fail, the target realizes that you are attempting to alter their memories.

The period is chosen either by time (i.e. “last Friday night”) or by reference to a specific event (i.e. “when the murder occurred”).

  • You do not gain mind-reading through this effect, so your ability to alter their memory is limited by your knowledge of what they might know.
  • The target's roll to realize their memories have been altered can be made a maximum of one time per day.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You have 6 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack.

Your Armor cannot be destroyed, and it always provides a minimum of 2 Armor regardless of any Armor shredding or penetration. It cannot be circumvented with Called Shots. When shredded, it returns to full potency in one hour.

Any time your Armor prevents Damage, your Armor rating is temporarily decreased by 2. Whenever it goes five Rounds without preventing any Damage, it is restored back to its full value.

  • Armor recharging happens automatically and does not require an Action.
  • This Effect’s Armor rating cannot be increased by any other Effects.

The Airship of Solitude

The airship of solitude is an imposing black blimp. While flying through the air, it is regularly struck by lightning, terrifying those below.

This Artifact can be used as a blimp. It is roughly the same size as a blimp but can be collapsed into a phone-sized canvas cube and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Quick Action.

This blimp has full science laboratory, bullet-proof envelope, and ample parachutes. Any roll to pilot this vehicle receives +2 dice.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Crew of One: You alone may stand in for an entire crew if the vehicle would normally be piloted by more than one.
  • Mind of its Own: This vehicle can move and take Actions without you driving it. It has seven dice for all Drive rolls.
  • No Muffler: Any stealth rolls made to hide your vehicle automatically fail, and any rolls made to notice your vehicle automatically succeed.

  • If there is not enough free space to expand the object, it cannot be expanded. You cannot expand this Object as an attack.
