Crafted Artifact

Swords of the Forge

Created by Henry Avery, given to Sir Arthur King.
Collection of Swords

Through dedication and years of the craft, Henry has learned how to forge the strongest swords

A large zweihander style sword, with a thick Damascus steel blade, with a golden tint color to it. Forged with the power to shatter thy enemies armor.

This Artifact can be used as a great sword / giant axe. It is roughly the same size as a great sword / giant axe and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +5 Weapon Damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Shredder: If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.

  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

Qigong

Created by Prototype, looted by Amaranth Barclay.

These coins create a subtle ringing noise while worn by someone who is injured. This noise persists until the item is removed or all wounds are healed.

Digging up his master's items of what he left to Fonzie before he passed away, he has found a particular trinket, 5 coins that shine and glow and are even a custom made coins, a masterwork of details and a symbol of Qi on each of them as they are all tied together with a red string, easily to be hanged from something or tied onto something else. Whoever holds it in their possession feels a new sense of vigor as old wounds heal.

This trinket was taken by Amaranth from the man's body after an ill-fated suggestion to throw him 100 feet away into army of undead contractors. It did not end well.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

Any Injury you receive heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level every 6 hours. Any Injuries you receive while this Effect is active automatically count as a successful Proper Stabilization and do not deteriorate further. Any Battle Scars caused by such an Injury will heal with the Injury.

You may Exert your Mind and spend an Action to reduce the Severity of one of your Injuries by 2. Does not affect Injuries suffered as an activation cost for Effects.

You may choose to heal any Battle Scar on yourself that is not caused by an Injury. Recovery takes one day, and the Battle Scar affects you fully until that time.

Trifold Frame

Created by Bryan Bosch, given to Harold Polk.
A marvel of artistic ingenuity, providing the function of an impossibly flexible, additional arm. It can be quickly equipped and removed through a series of clasps that attach themselves to the user's torso. The exterior is crafted from a reinforced, tensile layer of carbon fiber resistant to wear and damage. Golden circuitry runs along the surface of the arm, branching into intricate fractal patterns. Its internals consist of a complex suspension system supported by wiring and origami folds in the three primary joints, as well as a series of advanced, technological components. On the back of the hand is a signature written in cursive gold, reading "bb."

After attaching the frame to their torso, the user must activate and sync the arm's internal operative systems with the neurological activity responsible for their own limbs-- requiring extensive input from the mind, voice, and body. The golden circuitry running across the chassis ripple with energy during this process. While in use, its origami folds are able to stretch, bend, and morph to fit the user's desired movements.
The calibration sequence to connect the arm requires the user to move around their joints (shoulders, elbows, and wrists) and read aloud a pangram (ex: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog").

The systems powering and controlling the arm are an intricate mix of various power sources all synchronizing together. Specifically, they are the culmination of its creator taking influence from his peers, a spatial mage and technomancer, to achieve the final result of a fully functional additional limb.
These include arm's handcrafted, moving folds (of which three are responsible for the core joint movement of a shoulder/elbow/wrist), the golden circuits that connect to the user's mind (branching into a sprawling, fractal pattern across the arm and acting as a signal booster/receiver for all the energy), and the internal technological programming (which are carefully integrated to run with the rest of the arm's systems).
The use of a pangram enables the internal systems to more easily find specific parts of the brain to connect to and the movement of the joints calibrate the arm's motions as well.
The arm's three primary folds, alongside the three sources of power (magic, technology, and clockwork-level crafting), serve as a double entendre inspiring the gift's final name.

Expend a point of Battery and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: activating and calibrating the arms with the user. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You gain an additional limb that functions as a standard human arm and hand. Lasts two hours.

Each additional limb you posses can take one Quick Action per Round without incurring a -2 dice penalty to your main Action. Any Battle Scars that affect or remove your additional limb will heal in a single week.

Your appendage is capable of bending and squishing in normally-impossible ways. It may fit through any gap that is not water-tight and retain its functionality.

Your extra appendage can stretch to reach an additional 30 feet.

Your extra appendage is not connected to your nervous or circulatory systems, and you will not take damage if it is hit by an attack or destroyed.

Your Extra Appendage counts as an object and can be hacked or targeted by any Powers that affect objects or machines. Injuries to your Extra Appendage cannot be healed by Powers that affect living things but may be repaired during Downtime.

  • You may stretch or retract your limbs once per Round on your Initiative.

Cross-Eye Cloak Projector

Created and held by Conner Metal.
Currently Destroyed.
Destroyed in update

The Cross-Eye has further advanced, allowing the user to use it's latent nanotechnology to cloak the user in a special suit. This suit reflects light around the target, and softens all noise made by it. With this, a sniper could be right next to it's target or miles away, and they would never know

Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action to activate.

You and any clothes or equipment you are wearing are partially obscured from sight for the next minute. All attempts to detect you using sight are rolled at a -3 dice penalty.

Entering Combat or being Injured does not cause the Effect to end early. Anyone you attack will immediately notice you; anyone else may re-roll to notice you each time you take a Combat action, at -1 Difficulty per Combat action you have taken. When the Effect ends, it is disabled for 1 hour.

  • GMs should use their discretion when determining the exact impacts of this Effect, particularly in conjunction with environmental factors. Standing still against a complex background may render you impossible to detect, and footprints in snow may make it easy. A chance to detect you is not guaranteed.

Star Stone Amulet

Created and held by Doctor Andorn Peregrine.
A worn amulet with a 6-pointed star made from some sort of reddish-orange gemstone. It shimmers with power...

The amulet infuses energy into its user as an onyx, mechanical tentacle with claspers leaks out of the user's core, ready to serve.

To feed the artifact, one simply holds a rare mineral up to the gem in the amulet, watching as it quickly seems to melt and be sucked into the gem.

Expend a point of Battery and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: mutter to yourself as you spread your arms, allowing the appendages to dramatically grow out of your core. This Effect cannot be used unless you have fed the artifact rare minerals in the last 24 hours.

Your appendage is selectively incorporeal, allowing you to reach through walls or ignore grapples on it.

  • Your limb's incorporeal-ness doesn't enhance your attacks in any way.
  • You may stretch or retract your limbs once per Round on your Initiative.

Deterring Dentures

Created and held by Locke Wood.
a pair of dentures designed to fit the users teeth. They are framed as gold teeth and also makes the user have a beautiful smile! All 32 teeth

The user who uses this smiles with big gold teeth and then spaces out. In his mind he is reading your memories, what your passwords are, who you love most, where you live, how big your house is, how susceptible you are to cons and if you have been conned before.

Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Select a Living, Animate target within 300 feet You must maintain Concentration while the effect is active. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.

You are able to view your target's memories. The target is unaware their memories are being probed. The Effect ends if the target moves out of range or your Concentration is interrupted.

You may ask specific questions about their memory - “what is their computer password,” “What were they doing at 4:00PM yesterday,” etc - but you cannot get answers to broad, analytical questions like “are they a good person?” or “what are their plans for the future?”

Each question takes as long as it takes to answer to read. When replaying a full memory, it is replayed in double time.

After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
