Legendary Artifact

Economy Plus

Created and held by Mikey Rayes.
Red shipping crate

From the outside Mikey's shipping container appears to be normal. It measures 8 feet wide, 40 feet long, and 8 and a half feet tall. The back has a securely locked double doors. The Left side of the crate also opens. It can be unlocked and swung upwards to access the crate from the side. Either of these doors are supernaturally locked and can only be opened by Mikey himself. To do so he traces a precise symbol onto the surface of the lock with one of his picks, causing it to spring open.

The inside of the crate opens into a pocket dimension, 5 times larger than it would otherwise be, totaling to 1600 square feet of floor space. The pocket dimension appears as a garage with a concrete floor and steel walls. It is illuminated by a series of tube lights inset to the ceiling. By tracing the same symbol he uses to get in, Mikey is able to open any given section of the wall to either of the doors.

This Artifact can be used as a container. It is roughly the same size as a Shipping Container and just as difficult to conceal.

Your Shipping Container holds 5 times what it normally could. Objects stored inside are weightless.

Living things can be stored in your Shipping Container. They will have access to anything else inside and may attempt to break free, damaging or destroying the Shipping Container in the process.

If your Shipping Container is destroyed, things inside may get out, and it will cease to function until it is repaired.

Only you may open and close the container. Others can still destroy it to get at the contents

  • There is no cost to use your container.

Mechanised Ambulatory Stabilisation Chamber

Created and held by Jikatamaru Amefutte.
The M.A.S.K is a suit, somewhere between an old deep sea diving suit and a futuristic spacesuit, desgined to adapt to environments considered hostile to hyper-specialised sapients

A gutted deep sea diving suit, mossy and greened metal repaired and repainted, fitted with breathing apparatus, a backup oxygen tank, atmospheric filters and hydraulics for reliable movement. High tech, but 'retro' in its use of old aesthetics.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You have 4 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack. Called Shots may circumvent your Armor, depending on its coverage.

You may spend an Action or Reaction and Exert your Mind to double your Armor rating for one Round.

When you take Damage from a source which is within 5 feet, deal back as much Damage as your Armor prevented.

You may activate or deactivate your armor as a Free Action on your Initiative. As long as your armor is active, your movement speed is halved and you suffer -2 dice to all Dexterity and Perception rolls. While deactivated, it offers no Armor.

  • This Effect’s Armor rating cannot be increased by any other Effects.

Maru puts a gauntlet to their helmet, clicking a button. A few whirrs can be heard, before their helmet displays the information on the area around them. Mostly geographical, but new Web technologies allow them to detect some anomalous energies.

Expend a point of Battery and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Culture at Difficulty 6.

You learn the following information about the area:

  • You can tell the age of any structure or natural formation in the area. This includes trees and plants growing in the area.
  • You can locate the source of any Alien energy or the presence of any Alien effects on the area. Specific information about the function of these effects beyond their general type is not forthcoming.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Guardian's Embrace

Created by Kal, looted by Janus Hect.
An advanced piece of a technological orgamism that masquerades as a bracelet but transforms into any gun with a swift motion. This symbiotic entity bonds with its wearer, providing both concealment and protection.

When activated, the seemingly metal bracelet unfurls, revealing a fleshy amalgamation of steel and skin, this being takes on the form of any firearm you can think of, it also can grow eyes and speak to the user.

Shortly after returning from his first contract, Kal does his usual repairs to his RV and checks all of his supplies, when he hears a high-pitched whistling that seems to be hurtling towards his location. Just as the whistling gets to its loudest he hears a large crash right outside of his RV, on investigation he finds a Crater with what seems to be a perfectly crafted steel bracelet. Upon putting on the bracelet he hears a voice "hello there!" immediately, Kal looks around, eventually realizing the voice is originating from the bracelet. "hello?" Kal says while tapping the bracelet. Immediately after tapping on the bracelet it unfurls into an amalgamation of flesh and steel, vaguely resembling a handgun. Interested, Kal aims towards a tree and fires, the gun glows green when an energy projectile fires off into the tree leaving a hole slightly bigger than a normal bullet. Interested, Kal begins to fire off more rounds, "14, 15, Damn you don't run out do you?" A mouth suddenly emerges on the side of the gun, "Nope! I dont run out and I can turn into a bracelet so you can hide me! I'm the perfect killing tool! Perfect for somebody like you...".

This Artifact can be used as a rifle. It is roughly the same size as a rifle but can be collapsed into a bracelet and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Quick Action.

Attack by rolling Dexterity + Firearms, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +5 Weapon Damage.

This item is a living thing. When targeted, it counts as a Living Creature in addition to its other target types. If destroyed or abandoned for more than two days, it dies and becomes unusable.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Infinite Ammo: This weapon never runs out of its standard ammunition.
  • You may spend a Quick Action to change this firearm's base stats into those of any other basic firearm.

  • If there is not enough free space to expand the object, it cannot be expanded. You cannot expand this Object as an attack.
  • Changing this weapon's base type affects its range, Weapon Damage, concealability, and roll. Other mechanics of the chosen base firearm (such as the tripod requirement for sniper rifles) apply.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.
  • Rifles are +1 Difficulty to use in melee range. Sniper Rifles are +3 Difficulty to use without a tripod or in melee range. Setting up a tripod takes an Action.

Dreamers Top Suit

Created by Harold Polk, given to Jessie (Carrion) Hope.
“I belong here.”

When “The Firm’s Uniform” is activated, the transformation it undergoes is both subtle and imbued with an air of professional gravitas. The artifact, perhaps initially resembling a nondescript piece of legal attire or accessory, begins to shimmer with an ethereal gloss reminiscent of the polished sheen on a lawyer’s briefcase or the gleam of a well-maintained courtroom. This visual cue is brief, serving as a prelude to the transformation, much like the opening remarks in a meticulously prepared legal argument.

As the item changes, its edges blur momentarily, mimicking the effect of pages flipping rapidly through a legal tome, searching for the right precedent or statute. This transition is smooth and deliberate, echoing the precision and confidence of a seasoned attorney presenting their case. The new form materializes with the precision of a well-drafted contract, each detail snapping into place with the finality of a judge’s gavel.

This Artifact can change its appearance. When not transformed, it is roughly the same size as a Clothing and just as difficult to conceal.

Exert your Mind and spend a Quick Action to activate. This Artifact changes its appearance into an Object within the category of Clothing. This lasts until you decide to end the Effect, which may be done as a Free Action.

The new object's appearance can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), but must be of a similar size and weight to this Artifact.

The new appearance is illusory; it will hold up to scrutiny, but its composition is not altered and it gains no new functionality. Any attempt to use it for a function which it cannot perform (for instance, making bread look like a knife and then trying to stab someone) will cause the illusion to fail or allow a Perception check to see through the illusion, at the GM's discretion.

When used as identification and scanned, the scanner will act appropriately and bring up appropriate generic information. Further searches for the identity in the computer will turn up no results.

Abaneki Spirit Stone (Greater Illumination Trophy)

Created by Walter Prescott, stolen by Dr. Conrad Blackwell.
A triangular piece of stone about the size of a man’s fist, carved and polished so that it has a smooth raised edge and a flat recessed face. The face is etched with a large image of a crow and smaller images of frogs, snakes, and spiders done in a Native American totemic style. The stone is attached to a weathered loop of leather decorated with small, nearly petrified bird bones.

With miscroscopic vision or successful examination with science or occult, it becomes obvious that this is
not a naturally occurring stone but some kind of petrified resin unlike anything currently in use. You notice that the surface of the face is lined with minute geometric patterns (similar to modern computer circuit boards) With at least 4 successes on Occult, they recognize this as alien technology, perhaps carved after creation by someone else.

Upon touching any sapient entity's exposed flesh, it triggers a mind roll at 8. Failure or Botch means you are possessed by the artifact, and immediately are inflicted with a absolute hatred of humans, and overwhelming desire to flee to the nearest wilderness area and defend it from human incursion by force. On a failure, they may reroll to break free in 2 hours, on Botch it is 24 hours. Two botches in the same lunar cycle possesses them until the new moon. A possessed target will relentlessly hunt down the artifact if it is taken, though if it is not in their possession on the new moon they begin to recover over the next week or so. The artifact can possess multiple people, though only the person in posession of the artifact can use its powers. In the case of multiple possessed targets, they will work together to drive off the humans, before likely fighting over the artifact.
A single success will prevent this possession, as long as they maintain the artifact in their possession.

While asleep, you may tap into the creatures under your command and receive visions of sights and sounds the commanded creatures experience. You may also communicate with the commanded creature.

If the commanded creatures travel over 5 miles from the artifact, the effect ends for those individuals.

Commands are limited to
Sit (go to a described area the creature is familiar with and remain. If you set a specific condition that the creature is capable of noticing, you will be notified when it occurs. A single creature isn't particularly perceptive, though a horde certainly is)

Pester (They will follow a target they can see, and hop, jump, or fly as close to it as possible without touching it.)

Attack (Small numbers of the creature will attempt to attack the target(s) identified. Due to size, the damage is capped at 2, this is dodgable, and a small number might not be able to efficiently do damage at all.

Swarm (There must be a large number of individuals, such as 60+crows or thousands of bugs- and they will all attack at once, moving at the creatures normal speed. These masses are usually fairly large (20+ ft wide for the minimum size), and anyone caught in the swarm will take damage, capped at 4. larger numbers simply make the horde larger, and harder to get out of. Vision and sound is obscured when inside a swarm and disorientation is likely. You must be able to move entirely out of the swarm with a free action to be able to effectively dodge, but the most effective approach is shelter or fleeing.)

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Creature within 300 feet.

For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow. All other Creatures which are the same species as your target will also be compelled to follow commands that you issue if they are within 300 feet when the command is given.

Your commands must be relatively simple and within the target’s intellectual grasp. You can make them endanger themselves or otherwise go against their self-preservation instincts. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.

Possession of this Artifact causes the following Trauma to manifest over the course of a day: Territorial: If humans infringe on what you consider a private space, you must make a self control roll to not drive them out by force.. If you lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next month.

  • Your commands must be directly communicated to your target in some way, though this does not require a shared language.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Handheld Needle & Thread

Created by Mr. Fox, given to Stock / Storage.
This platinum needle with small ingravings in it is matched with a spool of golden thread.

When using the handheld sewing machine, the lining that comes out of the machine is gold strands, that blends within the material that it touches. After doing so, it sews back together for a functional object.

Exert your Mind and spend 60 minutes. Select a Object within arm's reach that is no larger than an SUV. You may target Alien technology, so long as you have an understanding of its intended function. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll Dexterity + Crafts at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Personal Shield Generator

The device itself is a metal hexagon that is worn on the belt and glows when active.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action or Reaction.

You phase out of reality for up to 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.

You leave a golden glow shaped like yourself at your location.

  • If you use this Effect to dodge as a Reaction, it succeeds without the need for a roll. Cannot be used as a Desperate Defense.
  • You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.

This Effect activates whenever combat begins. It does not require an Action or Exertion.

You automatically detect all people wielding weapons within 300 feet of you for the next hour. This includes any who come within range during the duration. You have a sense of how many valid targets are nearby, as well as their distance and direction.

  • When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are not at all wet and you are wearing this Artifact.

You are obscured in one of the following manners. You may Spend an Action to change the way in which you're concealed.

  • Sight:You are partially obscured from being noticed by sight. All attempts to detect you using sight are rolled at a -3 dice penalty, and all attempts to detect you where sight would assist are rolled at -1 penalty. Anyone who detects you cannot determine any visual details about you beyond your general shape.

While this Effect is active, any Effect that would obscure you from other, additional senses fails automatically. If someone discovers you, this Effect will not help you hide from them for the next minute. This Effect does not end early when you activate an obvious Effect, attack, or receive an Injury.

  • GMs should use their discretion when determining the exact impacts of this Effect, particularly in conjunction with environmental factors. Standing still against a complex background may render you impossible to detect, and footprints in snow may make it easy. A chance to detect you is not guaranteed.
