Their body is shaped similarly to that of a sea snake, being elongated and covered in blue scales. At the end of their body is a large tail fin. Their skin is covered in light blue scales, and their torso is humanoid, with two arms, with hands are humanoid but have only four fingers with claw-like ends. You gain the following benefits at all times.
You are permanently and visibly transformed: Sea Naga. You are considered to be a Sapient, Living being when targeted. Your Dexterity is increased by 1 and your Perception is increased by 1.
While in Deep ocean, heat, cold, pressure, and other atmospheric hazards do not affect you, and dangerous local flora and fauna will not bother you unless you give them a reason.
Your appendages can reach an additional 30 feet.
Your body provides you with the functionality of night vision. If used to attack, these "tools" use the same stats as a small knife.
You cannot be mistaken for a normal human. You cannot always use standard human clothes, equipment, vehicles, and facilities, and when you can, you suffer an increased Difficulty.
The Severity of any Injury caused by evil, corrupted, or dark aligned weapons.(especially including weapons of Abyssal amethyst) is increased by 2.
Thalassic Aegis manifests as an inexplicable protective phenomenon surrounding Marina. This ability creates a barrier of water that responds to threats with uncanny timing and precision.
Moments before an attack connects, ambient moisture coalesces or water seemingly materializes from nowhere. The aqueous shield adapts to each threat: hardening into ice to deflect blades, dispersing into mist to slow projectiles, or erupting in pressurized jets to alter the trajectory of incoming strikes.
The water's form shifts fluidly between states - liquid, solid, and vapor - each transformation accompanied by a faint, otherworldly shimmer. As Marina's experiences accumulate, Thalassic Aegis appears to grow more effective, occasionally even lashing out at attackers with tentacle-like water whips or sudden steam explosions.
Marina remains puzzled by the true nature and origin of this power. It feels instinctual, like an extension of her connection to the sea, yet carries hints of something vaster and more mysterious. Each activation leaves her with fleeting impressions of depths unexplored and secrets yet to be fathomed in the world's oceans.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You have 3 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack. This Armor cannot be circumvented with Called Shots.
The Necromancer stands over a corpse and makes a series of grandiose lifting gestures. The corpse rises from the ground as though suspended by invisible strings, barks a pained groan, and lands on its feet, now a full-fledged member of the living dead.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must use up a corpse in order to activate this Effect.
Summon a single ________ at your location. They will last until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 1 minion active at a time.
Lod shrugs off injury and mental anguish alike, however the wounds and mental strain still builds up. An almost psychogenic fugue prevents him from noticing.
After Lod's newest excursion to Russia, he has learned what pain truly means.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
Your Stress from Injuries and Mind Damage is reduced to 0.
You may move at your normal speed and still maintain Concentration. Taking an Injury less than Severity 6 no longer interrupts Concentration.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Delusion: Unbreakable (When this character receives an injury or someone else attempts to treat or point out an existing one, the character must succeed on a self-control roll to become aware of it. This character may not take actions to stabilize or heal any injury they are unaware of and will resist treatment of such injuries from others).
Everyone hides a fear of being trapped with no chance of escape. Bill's novel "Haunted Hide-A-Way" draws upon that same fear fueling an ability to avoid just that.
Using this power allows the user to lock or unlock a door within 20 feet. When the power is used a spectral key appears in lock and disappears into smoke when the task is complete.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien door, container, knot, or lock within 20 feet that is no more complex than a standard commercial door, personal safe or a keycard reader.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
Nikki plays a song that settles into the back of your mind like a splinter.
Exert your Mind and spend three Actions performing the following ritual: Singing or Playing Guitar. Select a Living target within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 9.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take may be extreme and out of character for them. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
If any affected target takes or deals Damage, this Effect ends.
The mutant has gained some control over their genetic instability, allowing them to trigger a mutation at will. When the need arises, their flesh warps and twists, and a new mutation manifests that is suited to whatever obstacle the mutant happens to be facing at the time.
Spend 30 minutes. You may only target yourself. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
True to their namesake, the hacker can penetrate the security of any computer system, granting access to its informational stores, or, in a pinch, allowing them to issue commands. The hacked system will display a flickering image of a ghost until it is dismissed.
While hacking, The Technician's fingers move with supernatural speed, blurring like a ghost.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Computer within arm's reach. Does not work on Alien technology. Roll Intellect + Technology, with the Difficulty set by the GM depending on the security of the system you are hacking. Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you may issue a single command to the targeted system. This command must have a specific outcome or be a request for specific login credentials. The command you issue must be within the machine's current capabilities. For example, you cannot order a standard security camera to grow legs and walk around.
If your command does not require bypassing the security of the target (for example, typing on a computer that is unlocked), you do not need to Exert your Mind to activate this Effect, and activation only takes a single Action.
Your Hack cannot be reversed through mundane means for a number of hours equal to your Outcome.
Every hack you make leaves behind a flickering image of a ghost in the system as a personal "calling card" that informs anyone who uses the system that the hack occurred.
The mobster presents a reasoned, logical case to the target: there's a lot of dangerous folks out there, and only they can offer safety... for a price.
If they agree, they will pay the mobster a monthly fee for protection. If they stop making their payments... well, let's just say, the mobster can't be held responsible for any unsavory types that might pay them a visit.
This Effect cannot be used unless you are making a deal to exchange money for protection.
You may make an oath with a physically-present, Sapient target. Communicate the oath's terms to the target, including the requirements and penalties for each participant. If all agree to the terms, you must Exert your Mind and all participants must shake hands to seal the deal.
Record the oath as a Condition. If a party breaks the oath, the Condition ends and they suffer the oath's penalty.
When crafting your oath, you may incorporate any of the following penalties:
The target cannot be compelled to agree via a direct threat of violence, another Effect, or another oath. If you would like to use clever wording to mislead the target, you must succeed a contested Intellect + (Culture or Influence) roll.
While submerged, the aquamancer can fully sustain themselves from the waters around them, entirely forgoing food, drink, and even air. They may also enter a state of hibernation, remaining underwater and incapacitated for up to two months.
You gain the following benefits as long as you are submerged in water.
You no longer require any food, water, or air in order to survive. You no longer age naturally, and supernatural attempts to age you fail. Any roll to resist an Effect dependent on any affected requirement automatically succeeds.
You may spend one minute entering a state of hibernation, during which you are inanimate and unaffected by any requirements for life. You may still perceive the outside world and may spend 3 Rounds "waking up" to end it.
While transformed, the Werewolf can leap great distances, climbing structures and closing the gap to their prey.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location which is at most 60 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically. This Effect cannot be used unless you are in werewolf form.
You jump to the chosen location. If jumping blind or landing precariously, must roll Dexterity + Athletics to land safely. You will never take fall Damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
You may opt to trade your free movement for a Super Leap if you are jumping less than 50 feet or if you are closing a gap to an opponent and spend your Action on an attack.
