Thine soul absolved to be one with the flames and aligned with the vision. They know not their reason for life; for all contemplations prior have been seen to lead them astray. This is a new land, and their soul is unstable here. Crimson ichor and fiery vegetation sprout and form as if they were bright rivers of blood and gore upon the Ashen One. The crevices of their armor fill with smoke and leak of inflamed blood before shattering to fiery embers once complete.
Virtual reality glitches out as the binds that keep Ashen within their realm are slowly being broken... Soon, they will escape.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Non-Sapient Object or piece of an Object or structure within arm's reach no larger than a duffel bag (35 liters). You must actively and obviously use Shield to activate this Effect. You cannot target objects which are currently in someone else’s possession. Roll Brawn + Melee Difficulty 6.
If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.
When activating this Effect, you may spend an extra minute and maintain Concentration. If you do, it has no Exertion cost, and you may destroy an object which has up to 3x larger dimensions, or up to 27x larger volume than the normal maximum size.
When a target is destroyed, it sends shards flying. Anyone within 5 feet of the object rolls 4d10 at Difficulty 6 and takes damage equal to the Outcome. Can be reacted to.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see crimson ichor and fiery vegetation sprout and form as if they were bright rivers of blood and gore upon the Ashen One. The crevices of their armor fill with smoke and leak of inflamed blood before shattering to fiery embers once complete.
Cham stares at the target, his eyes burdened, his arms limp at his sides.
He looks.. mortal.
His eyes glaze over, and blood drips from invisible wounds in his palms and ankles.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless Alternate Form.
Your target is marked with stigmata (Invisible spliritual wounds on the targets palms and ankles) until it is removed or until you choose to end the Effect. The mark can only be discovered with a deep medical inspection or Effect. Removal inflicts a Severity 1 Injury on the target.
You are aware of the marked target's direction and distance from you. You can have up to 3 marks active.
You may use any Awareness Powers on a marked target at any range.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.
Once Jakob Bosch points to a target and activates "Claws of the Fallen", a strange, fleshy-amalgam of hands, eyes, and nails begins to grow and fester on the target's body in a random location. As the 'infection' grows, it begins to claw and grip the target, seemingly feasting on their flesh and adding their mass into it's own.
Straight out of a Bosch painting, Jakob believes it to be the 'souls' of those who died on the operating table. Whether that's the truth of the ability or not, it's truly anyone guess. After viewing the 'Bobasaurus', it opened up Jakob's mind to exactly how disgusting and warped living mass can truly be.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within 45 feet. Roll Dexterity + Occult Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.
Any Injury inflicted is considered unstabilized even if its Severity is less than 4. The equipment and roll required to Stabilize it is treated as though it is a minimum of Severity 6.
Instead of dealing Damage all at once, the Injury caused by this Power starts at Severity 1 and worsens at the rate of one level per Round until it reaches the Severity it would have otherwise been.
One of Kitty's most potent abilities, using a sliver of zir inverted soul to interfere with the powers of another.
Exert your Mind and Spend an Action. Select a Living or Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is supernatural. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you you suffer a Traumatic Brain Injury. You must actively and obviously use a prism to activate this Effect. Roll Perception + Alertness at Difficulty 6. The target may roll Body, Difficulty 7, as a Free Action to resist.
If you succeed, either modify an existing Condition on the target or inflict a new one. You determine the new Condition, limited by the contested Outcome:
All alterations you make must target the parts of a targets body that channel magic.
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
Who wouldn't want one of the mad scientist's famous implants? All it takes is a little time and a few terrifying experiments, and you too could be a better you!
Warning: not fully tested on humans. Risk of dry mouth, upset stomach, or lost limbs. Do not consult your doctor before signing the liability release.
Spend 30 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Your target must make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see you're doing surgery on someone while their awake.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Iryna’s skin begins to crack and pull apart as sickly, dangerous light is allowed to escape. Her essence, the source of her life and change is laid bare to the world and allowed to be free. Penetrating any wall or barrier and ignoring most armor as it flows out, wave after wave of toxic light.
Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an Action. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. The area within 45 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Anyone in the area has 1 Round to attempt to escape. During the next Round, on your Initiative, roll Brawn + Athletics at Difficulty 6.
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 45 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 2. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full Damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.
For the next 3 Rounds following the initial blast, this Effect will deal a new blast of damage to any targets remaining within range of you. The damage decays by 2 each Round.
Anyone who takes damage from the blast is knocked back away from you by a distance equal to the radius. They must succeed a Body roll, Difficulty 9, or be stunned for 1 round.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
The mutant now occasionally lays large, orange-speckled eggs. These Eggs do not hatch nor spoil. If cracked and applied to a chronic injury such as a missing limb, the scar heals completely within the hour. However, any area healed by the egg will forever carry an inhuman appearance as testament to the bizarre method of treatment.
Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.
The Future Soldier learned to create foam grenades in their own time period, and they still can, kinda. They look like glowing orange capsules with a rugged rubberized grip. When thrown, they burst into a splash of expanding neon orange foam. The foam hardens in seconds, severely hampering the movement of anyone unlucky enough to have been splashed. Those affected may use their hands or weapons to hack away at the foam and free themselves.
Occasionally, the fuses on these bootleg grenades fails, and they go off immediately.
Spend an Action and use up this small metallic grenade with pin (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Make a thrown attack at a Location within normal attack range. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you are hit as it activates immediately at your present location. The target may roll to dodge or defend, as normal for thrown attacks. The attack does not deal Damage, but the Effect does.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but are reduced to ¼ of their movement speed.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
The detective can learn a lot by watching someone for a minute. Each subtle detail, every unexplained stain, reveals something about where the target has been. Ocassionally, they'll drop a business card, or explain how to contact them. The detective is listening.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target does not know you're watching them. You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is that you keep peeking at the target. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
The doctor heals severe injuries in minutes using only standard medical supplies. Lacerations seal under the needle and thread, and reset bones can be used shortly after.
However, for the treatment to last, the patient must adhere to any aftercare regimen the doctor requires. Those who violate the doctor's orders suffer their injuries anew.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use basic medical supplies to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition.
The aristocrat knows a ritual that allows them to rent the best version of any item. They set $10,000 worth of cash on fire and place the item to be upgraded in the fire as well. While in the flame, the item morphs into a high-end version of itself. After a while, it reverts.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. You must use up $10,000 cash (or equivalent) in order to activate this Effect. Cannot be used to improve Armor.
Lasts the next two hours. Your target receives 3 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +3 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice.
