Wren has been working on her mind for a while now, improving her psychic powers bit by bit. This is her latest breakthrough - a sort of psychic wall that she can expand later to reach past her own mind if needed.

You gain the following benefits at all times.

Your Charisma rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Charisma (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).

You also gain the following effects:

  • Poker Face: You reveal only what you want to reveal. It is impossible to determine whether or not you are lying. You may roll Charisma + Performance to resist any investigative Effect that targets you. If you successfully resist, you determine the info they get.

  • In rare cases, GMs may require you to make a roll to lie to particularly powerful beings.
  • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

Bu fang life as a chef has grown and developed the way he talks with others and keep them talking. He gives off an aura that is friendly and is charming, a aura that makes anyone that meets him want to see him cook.

-Edits: Removed Honest Eyes - while that is an incredible power, it requires effective communication to use well.

-Added Samson: Bu Fang's Knife. Reasoning is simple - if you have Signature Item, it's not like you can lose it forever, can you?

-Added Come Again: A much needed cure for foot in mouth disease. Having this ability means you always present well, no matter what.

-Added Like a Book: Knowing what people respect/disrespect is incredibly powerful & on point for a Chef, & gives you unassailable info without an exert

If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.

  • Come Again?: Whenever you say something or present yourself in a way that upsets someone, you may Exert your Mind. If you do so you may change what you said or how you present yourself, and the first attempt will be dismissed and forgotten.
  • Like A Book: Once per person per day you may roll Charisma + Influence to learn what things they respect or disrespect in others.
  • Party Animal: You are welcome at, and will be granted entrance to, any social gathering or party, at least as an observer.

  • A "social gathering" might include a birthday party, after-work drinks, a ski trip, or yoga in the park, among other things. It likely would not include a cult gathering to summon a demon, Congressional negotiations over a contentious bill, etc.
  • If your Bu Fang's Knife is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months, or until you can recover any relevant missing items (which may involve a side-game and requires a GM to approve whatever process is used).
  • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.
