Nowadays you can't go a day without some phony prophet trying to peddle their wares to you.
Driven by the increased interest in the supernatural, charlatans from palm readers to televangelists are everywhere. And while the vast majority of witches, psychics, magicians, hypnotists, cures, potions, faith healers, and clairvoyants are complete fakes, they do make a living.
As the saying goes, "it's easier for an actor to make it in alternative medicine than Hollywood."
Most people scoff at these clearly-phony supernatural services, yet those same people often buy into at least one scam.
The most dangerous charlatans are the self-styled monster hunters who carry a mall-ninja arsenal and guns with silver bullets. Most have never encountered anything supernatural and do absolutely nothing besides burn some sage and patrol the area for a night or two. Even so, those who are superstitious, fearful, or desperate enough will hire them to solve the problems they simply don't understand. In some cases with disastrous results.
For Contractors, charlatans are red herrings and obstacles. Clumsy fakes that conjure a smokescreen of misinformation and escalate the situations they're in.

- a variety of medical symbols
- some famous icons and symbols
And imprinting from the shared meaning of these things a single effect.
This works particularly well on those with the murder or atrocities limit - definition of Innocents

The gift is activated through the use of a wooden dowel, the dowel, when pointed at the wound of the victim it begins to sparkle green around the wound/injury, magically stitching itself up.
You gain the following benefits at all times. You must actively and obviously be using Wooden Dowel to gain the benefits of this Effect.

You also gain the following effects:
- Gifted: You get +3 dice on any rolls related to medical care as long as Only activated when the victim is sheltered (under a roof).
- Surgeon Extraordinaire: You may perform any mundane surgery without inflicting or worsening an Injury, and recovery time is reduced to an hour.
- All stabilizations being proper stabilizations applies to stabilizations from other Effects such as Heal Wound.
First Responder
This is a doctor who exists on the front lines. They're most at home working under stressful conditions when the stakes couldn't be higher.
You gain the following benefits at all times.

- Unconventional Methods: When Stabilizing an Injury, you may opt to attempt a Makeshift Stabilization instead at Severity +2 Difficulty. If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the Injury is reduced by 2 Severity levels and its Battle Scar is set on the road to recovery. Outcomes less than 4 have the normal effect for Makeshift Stabilizations.
- All stabilizations being proper stabilizations applies to stabilizations from other Effects such as Heal Wound.

Luckily the soldier is well-trained in the use of their standard-issue medical kit. They may stabilize even the most severe injuries with a little gauze and some no-anesthetic stitching. Furthermore, the treated wounds of their comrades never get infected.
