The power to heal wounds.
Used by Murphy Martin, Created by TheSuperChrisb.
(You are obviously treating your target for the entire cast time. You must actively and obviously be using A Musical Instrument.)

After a bit of preparation, Murphy can use their sublime musical skills to put on a short concert that is capable of healing even the most grievous of wounds, assuming that the target will be around to hear the entire performance. The music causes wounds to heal at a rapid pace, making individuals feel fully whole again by the end of the performance. The effects are miraculous, and have the potential to regrow lost limbs and organs.

While recovering in the hospital, Murphy felt unsure of how they might go forward after their first, botched contract. They thought it must be a miracle that they survived, and didn't expect any reward for their near-death experience, as both Alan and Robert did all of the work. They rested for a couple of days, mostly mute other than for the most basic communication with the nurses and doctors. At some point during the first week of recovery, one of the nurses approached them and confirmed that they were the very same musician from YouTube. The nurse told them how much she appreciated the music that they wrote, and how helpful it had been at getting her through the toughest moments of her life. It was at this moment that Murphy remembered why they chose to become a musician in the first place. Part of the joy of creating is being able to share it with the world... and if what you have to share is worthwhile, the world will be better for experiencing it. The nurse would bring her ukulele to Murphy, a loan until they could get back home to their menagerie of instruments. They began to write again, filling pages upon pages with new material, more than they had ever been able to produce in the past. They didn't know it yet, but their wounds would begin to heal at a rapid pace, and the battle scar left by their first contract would disappear without a trace.

Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use A Musical Instrument to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Community Targeted Gifts

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within 20 feet. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. Roll Brawn + Animals at Difficulty 6. The target] may contest by Defending or Dodging.

If you succeed, your target will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They cannot move to a new location, and any physical actions they take suffer a dice penalty equal to twice the contested Outcome from the Effect activation, except attempts to escape or break the binding, which only suffer half this penalty.

The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of damage equal to twice the contested Outcome from the Effect activation. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.

  • If this Effect fails due to the Unreliable check, you must still pay any associated activation costs.
  • For entities whose movement could be considered an attack (e.g. a kaiju), the GM may rule that they are merely slowed instead of fully restricted.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Spend an Action or Reaction to activate. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use Metal flower to activate this Effect. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Roll Charisma + Alertness at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you create a Barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome Damage. The Damage reduction from the Barrier is applied before Armor, and is treated like Armor by any effects such as Armor Penetration. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.

You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The Barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of damage. When a Barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

This Gift's level is capped at 2 Gifts and cannot be increased further.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

This Effect activates whenever a creature attempts to use an Influence / Mind - Affecting Effect on you (such as Possession, Suggestion or Memory Manipulation) or a being harms you using an Effect (or is empowered by Alien forces) and deals at least a Severity - 2 Injury. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Animate target within 25 feet. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you must pay the Activation cost for the Effect (in Case 1) or you automatically gain an Outcome of 0 to Resist (Case 2). Roll Dexterity + Alertness at Difficulty 6. Your target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 7.

If you succeed, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes one of the following symptoms:

  • Psychotic Episodes: The target must make a Trauma roll each day at a -1 dice penalty, increasing each day until it reaches your Outcome.
Symptoms begin to appear immediately, and will remain and continue to worsen until the affliction is cured. The affliction is not contagious and will not spread to others.

The affliction is not treatable by modern medicine. It may be diagnosed by rolling Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6, and can be cured by covering the affected area (an injured or scarred point, or the forehead for the mind) with salt, and taking a living plant and pressing it against the area, which will die as it absorbs the Mark's lingering effects.

  • When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.
  • Successfully diagnosing an affliction also includes information about the treatment method.
  • The chosen method of treatment must be something that you could obtain in a small town given an afternoon.
  • Curing an affliction removes the Condition, but does not automatically heal any Injuries, Battle Scars, or Traumas which may have been caused by that condition.
  • This Effect’s symptoms do not stack with themselves on multiple applications.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Just as a surgeon must prep themselves so that they are sterile, so must one who wishes to use anesthesia for the incoming dissection for the glorious evolution of humanity. This is the first seal broken from within Glorious Evolution, through understanding both the human condition and the world around it, the other seals may break and unleash countless new powers to the wielder.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 30 feet. Roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, your target becomes drowsy for the next 3 Rounds, during which time they suffer an additional -2 dice Penalty to all Actions. At the end of their drowsiness, they fall asleep for Contested Outcome x 3 minutes.

Sleeping targets will not prematurely wake up on their own, and can only be awoken by taking Damage or nearing death from hunger, thirst, or suffocation. Drowsy targets always fall asleep, regardless of what happens while they are drowsy.

The target can be compelled to take physical actions and use their senses by other Effects, and they will still remain asleep throughout. If this occurs, they will be obviously sleepwalking to anyone who observes them.

When an affected target wakes up, they remain drowsy for the next minute, and suffer a -3 dice penalty. If an affected target successfully resists being put to sleep, they will still become drowsy for the next minute, and will suffer the same penalty.

You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.

Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their mind and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Trauma: Germaphobe: Wielding this staff has made you realize how disgusting things can truly be. You must roll self-control to not succumb to the staff's whispers and avoid any dirty objects or rooms within 10 feet of you. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next day.

  • For targets where "sleep" does not make any sense in terms of flavor, they will power down, freeze, etc, whatever state they can be in which is analogous to sleep.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Tarhos is an incredibly imposing man, and intimidation was one of the first tactics he mastered. He became so proficient in it that simply looking a man in the eyes was enough for them to divulge their darkest secret whether they wanted to or not.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Sapient target within arm's reach. At the end of your investigation, roll Brawn + Brawl at Difficulty 6. The target resists by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.

You learn all the following information about your target:

  • Determine if this target is Alien in origin or whether it has any Alien energy or outside influences. You receive information about the type of energy, including the name of the relevant Source pool or equivalent.
  • You learn a hidden desire of the target. Roll Outcome determines the relevancy / secret-ness of the desire.
  • You determine any major weaknesses that the target might have.

The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

Any information you gather is The target will speak their secret aloud and made publicly available.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.

You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.

  • Weakness Must be things that are systemed around. For example, silver for a werewolf. Not general like "she's bad at fighting".
  • Exhaustion penalties and duration stack. If you activate this Effect or another Effect with Exhaustion, your penalty will worsen, and the duration is increased by one hour.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

  • You can tell the age of any structure or natural formation in the area. This includes trees and plants growing in the area.

If you succeed, the target receives a new Battle Scar of your choosing, limited by the contested Outcome:

  1. A Minor Battle Scar E.g. an aesthetic-only body modification (a disfigured face, a pig's tail), impacted hand or foot, or vocal changes that complicate communication
  2. A Major Battle Scar E.g. a disabled/removed hand or foot, an inability to speak, an impacted major sense, removal of a minor sense, impacted movement.
  3. A Severe Battle Scar E.g. a disabled/removed arm or leg, deafness, aesthetic changes that are nearly impossible to conceal.
  4. An Extreme Battle Scar E.g. removal/disabling both hands or both legs, blindness, a full-body deformation that leaves the target humanoid but makes it difficult to use clothes, vehicles, and equipment designed for humans.
Refer to the stock Battle Scars on the Character Sheet for specific systems.

All alterations you make must damage the target's knees.

This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.

  • Remember: A Contractor’s Body rating is reduced by 1 for each Battle Scar after their fourth.
  • You may opt to inflict a Battle Scar that is less severe than what your Outcome allows.

Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.

The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect. If used on a Battle Scar caused by an Unstabilized Injury, that Injury is Stabilized.

Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.

  • This consumable is destroyed when used and cannot be used again.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma. Your target must make a Trauma roll to reap the benefits of this Effect. They may choose to Resist the Effect and not make the roll. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Medicine at Difficulty 6.

  • Unstabilized wounds do not degenerate during treatment.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
