Allena's shadow evolves and becomes hyper-aware of surrounding firearms. Whenever it senses a firearm being aimed at its user it leaves a tiny piece of itself inside the gun. This orb of darkness festers inside the firearm. When the firearm is fired and the internal combustion within the barrel takes place the flash of fire and light disturbs the orb causing it to expand into a spiked ball that destroys the internals of the gun.
Allena's shadow, after too many near-lethal experiences with firearms has developed a distaste for them.
This Effect activates whenever a firearm is aimed towards you. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Firearm within 20 feet no larger than a duffel bag (35 liters). Roll Charisma + Occult Difficulty 6.
The target object is sabotaged. No immediate change is visible, but the next time the firearm is fired, this Power takes effect. If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Hoplophobia, A Self-Control roll to avoid getting angry or running away from a firearm..
Once the oath's final participant has kissed the cigarette, all present shall see you assume the aspect of the devil. All shall bear witness to the pact as it has been struck, shall scent the sulfur of its striking, and witness the chains binding the participants together. All shall hear the striking of a clock, and witness the vistas of Hell on whose rocks the oath has been written. The vision shall last for but a fraction of a moment, but it shall certainly be remembered far longer.
You must actively and obviously use a cigarette to activate this Effect.
You may make an oath with any number of physically-present, Sapient targets. Communicate the oath's terms to the targets, including the requirements and penalties for each participant. If all agree to the terms, you must Exert your Mind and all participants must kiss a cigarette to seal the deal.
Record the oath as a Condition. If a party breaks the oath, the Condition ends and they suffer the oath's penalty.
When crafting your oath, you may incorporate any of the following penalties:
The targets cannot be compelled to agree via a direct threat of violence, another Effect, or another oath. If you would like to use clever wording to mislead the targets, you must succeed a contested Intellect + (Culture or Influence) roll.
You may revert a penalty for breaking one of your oaths on any participant other than yourself.
When crafting your oath, you may opt to enforce compliance. If you do, any participant that wishes to break the deal must take 3 Mind damage and succeed a Self-Control roll. They may attempt once per day.
Whenever a participant breaks the oath, you are immediately made aware and may even witness the act as if standing nearby.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see you momentarily take on the aspect of the devil.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Compulsion to offer an oath whenever met with a significant need an oath could satisfy.
Vita doesn't fully understand what Azazel is. She just knows that when people hurt her, he shows up. She doesn’t call him—he just comes. Every time someone lands a real hit, the air tears, the lights dim, and this giant thing—part man, part beast—crawls out of her shadow like it's been waiting down there, bored and hungry.
She usually just tilts her head, smiles a little, and signs “Uh-oh.”
Azazel doesn’t ask questions. He only understands one thing: if there’s fighting, he’s fighting. And if someone touches Vita? They go first.
As soon as Vita is wounded, a jagged rift rips through the space behind her. It smells like burnt copper and old incense. From it emerges a 6'2" figure: all twisted muscle, ritual scars, and a goat’s skull for a head, wreathed in shadow and bone dust. It doesn’t roar. It doesn’t speak. It just snaps to life and starts attacking everyone in combat range like it was summoned to punish.
Combatants feel it before they see it—like cold sweat dripping down their spine. Vita, meanwhile, just keeps skipping through the chaos, probably eating fruit snacks.
Azazel is a guardian spirit. Or maybe a curse. Vita doesn’t remember when he started following her—it was sometime after Bapha, sometime before she stopped having normal dreams. He never speaks. He doesn’t obey. He decides.
Some think Azazel is a punishment she unknowingly brought on herself. Others believe he’s a protective ward, a pact signed in blood and forgotten in sleep. Vita? She thinks he’s “kind of sweet.” He watches out for her.
And if that means he tears through a room the second someone throws a punch?
Well, that’s not her fault.

Colvin becomes aware, like a driving lance in his head, like an obstruction he can’t ignore, that one of the Fae Folk is nearby. He’ll likely whip his head erratically to look at it, before setting off on his hunt.
The Wild Hunt recognizes its own kind. Many of the hunt are linked to the Fae and many are such beings themselves, and the spear…adapts to the obsession of its wielder. Colvin’s obsession is his hatred of the Fae. He will stalk to the ends of the world to end them, if need be. The spear is more than happy to feed his hunger, while turning him into a piecemeal facsimile of the beings he hates most.
