Guido's exposure to millions of years in transit from the Jurassic to the modern era exposed him to vast amounts of temporal radiation. While he didn't age, the fetal embryo did experience this time. Despite only being chronologically 3 years of age, Guido has vast intelligence, partially due to the Deep Time he endured & partially due to mutation that synchronizes his fore & hind brain as a quantum singularity. If this connection is severed, most likely due to wounds on the spine, this ability is lost until the spinal damage heals. This is particularly relevant to his cockatiel-like feathered crest, which seems to attenuate the strange quantum energies associated with the anomalous intellect.
Having perceived portions of Time & Space beyond mortal ken, Guido is unusually afraid of the dark, & will avoid poorly lit areas.
You gain the following benefits as long as you have your Feather Crest.
Your Intellect rating is increased by 2. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Nyctophopia.
If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.
You also gain the following effects:
As the transformation begins, the character's body convulses violently, bones cracking as they surge into a towering 9-foot monstrosity. Their skin tears apart, revealing sinewy muscles covered in coarse, brownish-red fur, each strand slick with a sheen of blood. The fur pulses with dark energy, emitting an acrid, unnatural smoke. Two long, jagged horns burst from their skull, curving slightly backward, their tips glistening. Their eyes blaze with a sickly, unnatural glow, and their mouth stretches into a snarl, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth. The transformation culminates in a bone-chilling howl, a desperate sound that seems to tear the very air apart. Every step they take leaves scorched earth in their wake, as reality itself recoils from the presence of this monstrous, eldritch being.
Exert your Mind and spend a Quick Action.
You transform into an Eldritch Beast for 30 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are an Eldritch Beast, and you can use your equipment. Your Battle Scars, Injuries, and physical Liabilities are carried over between forms. Reverting from your Alternate Form cannot cause your existing Injuries to kill you. Instead, you remain Incapacitated.
While transformed, your Attributes are the same. You do not suffer any Stress while transformed.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see an eldritch, demonic and feral creature emerge from the bust skin of a formerly mild man.
Your alternate form renders you unable to speak any human language and incapable of fine object manipulation. You can only hold or grasp objects in a crude, clumsy way.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Uncontrollable Anger.
Somebody's deepest desire or greatest fear becomes manifest before them
Reach into a target's mind and see either their greatest fear or their deepest desire, though you don't know which one. You can then sculpt an illusion catered to this
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within arm's reach. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than a person.
The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place for the next 3 Rounds or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through their taste, touch, hearing, smell, and sight. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You cannot make an exact replica of an existing Animate being or Object.
Anyone who struggles against the illusion hard enough to break a window or who would be damaged by the illusion (or who would be able to perceive it significantly through a sense it cannot fool) realizes it is an illusion and can choose to perceive it or not at will.
The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.
Execute will lay a extremity on the chosen surface, and inlay it with a combination of a red energy weave and a black coating of Nanites, before the mass of nanite metal shapes itself into the form he desires, morphing and warping to his will.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. Select a Location within arm's reach.
Select one of the following alterations to create out of Nanite metal originating at the target:
The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.
This alteration lasts indefinitely but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 3 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.
You may sculpt your walls, domes, or tunnels as you create them, without any additional activation time or cost.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Violent immune system - when targeted with a healing/restorative effect by some source (item/player) other than yourself, it must be rolled at -2 dice.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Roll self control to not destroy and assimilate a object you pick up.
The old man takes leaves a smoky trail when he really gets going
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You can run at two times your normal movement speed.
If you move faster than your normal move speed, the world around you turns to a blur, and Perception rolls are made at -3 dice.
Haerin, imbuing his soul and the souls of others into his weapon, unsheathes his sword and unleashes a deadly destructive slash of screaming and writhing souls at a target. The souls scream as they fly at the target at a high speed before crashing into them in a mini explosion of screams and death.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 300 feet. You must actively and obviously use sword to activate this Effect. Roll Brawn + Melee Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 2. Armor is fully effective against this Damage.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see a conglomeration of souls into one weapon as they scream an writhe before being destroyed on impact with the target.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Instead of dealing Damage all at once, the Injury caused by this Power starts at Severity 1 and worsens at the rate of one level per Round until it reaches the Severity it would have otherwise been.
The aquamancer spends a minute soaking their wounds in at least a gallon of water. During this time, the injured area is obviously absorbing the liquid, and the flesh visibly knits back together.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. You must use up at least a gallon of water in order to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on yourself that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Brawn + Survival at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
The aquamancer has internal reserves of water that they may call upon when needed, and it will gush out of the pores in their skin wherever it is directed.
Spend a Quick Action.
You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within arm’s reach to your stash. You may only stash targets which are in your possession, grappled, or otherwise controlled by you.
You may store units of water in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside a briefcase (15 liters), and you may store up to 3 things at a time.
You may choose to equip any equipment you withdraw at no additional cost.
The Solider is accustomed to going long periods without food or water and can operate on very little sleep.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You may go five times longer than a normal human without food, water, sleep, and air.
Through the use of clever rhetoric, the spy is able to inspire a surge of emotion in a target with whom they are speaking.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. This Effect cannot be used unless you are engaged in conversation with the target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
The detective pulls out their magnifying glass and investigates the area, learning details about any nearby structures and picking up details on what sorts of beings have passed through and when.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet You must actively and obviously use a magnifying glass to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
