Magus sight

1
The power to detect all nearby magical beings.
Used by Preston Vincent Astor III, Created by ShadyTradesman.
(You must actively and obviously be using cone-shaped hat with stars and moons.)

Preston pulls his hat over his eyes and chants “hat of the magus reveal the magic to me!” He lifts the hat, revealing a glowing third eye sigil on his forehead.

Exert your Mind and spend at least two Actions performing the following ritual: pull your hat over your eyes and wiggle your fingers in front of your face chanting “hat of the magus reveal the magic to me!” to activate. You must actively and obviously use cone-shaped hat with stars and moons to activate this Effect. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You automatically detect all magical beings within 300 feet of you for the next hour. This includes any who come within range during the duration. You have a sense of how many valid targets are nearby and their direction, and you have a clear sense of both the distance and direction towards any detected beings. This information is accurate enough to use for aiming at them, at +1 Difficulty.

Community Activated Gifts

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate.

You transform into a werewolf for 3 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are a werewolf, and you can use your equipment. Your Battle Scars, Injuries, and physical Liabilities are carried over between forms. While transformed, your Brawn is increased by 1, your Dexterity is increased by 1, and your Perception is increased by 1.

Your alternate form is its own deadly weapon. Unarmed attacks made in your alternate form deal +3 Bonus Damage (instead of the typical -2).

You do not suffer wound penalties while in your Alternate Form.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see You turn into a werewolf.

While transformed, you automatically fail any Mind roll to resist an impulse and suffer -3 dice on all other Mind rolls.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: you are compelled to transform each time you are struck by moonlight.

You cannot speak any coherent verbal language and must resort to other means of communication.

  • Reminder: Bonus Damage from multiple sources does not stack. Instead, the highest Bonus is used.
  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.

Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend a minute to activate. Select a Battle Scar on yourself to treat.

The treated Battle Scar will heal immediately.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Flesh explodes with fiery vigour, before melding itself back into place..

Any Battle Scars you heal leave behind a Severity 2 Injury on your target that must heal naturally.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action.

You phase out of reality for 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

You leave ghostly silhouette at your location.

  • You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.

David did some digging into more…unrefined necromancy, following his last encounter with such magics on a job. By using his spirit cellphone (see Thomas Edison’s spirit cellphone) to consult with a few ancient spirits of infamous necromancers past, he was able to learn a ritual to “plunder the treasures of the underworld”.

Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute.

Choose an Object which could fit inside a regular backpack (up to 27 liters). It must be Non-Alien and generic. You cannot create explosives. You may create firearms.

Roll Brawn + Occult to fabricate your chosen Object. The Difficulty is assigned by the GM and depends on the specificity of your chosen Object. The created item lasts 2 hours.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Theft from the spirits of the dead and the injured, creepy as hell appearance of the ghosts of the departed.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • The Difficulty for the fabrication roll increases based on specificity. Something like a "shirt" would be Difficulty 5, whereas "Police uniform" would be Difficulty 9. The Outcome determines overall quality and how well the item fits the request.
  • You can fabricate a container of something so long as it contains a single type of thing (such as a tank of water) or it is designed to be packaged together (such as a first aid kit).

Spend an Action. This Effect cannot be used unless the target (if living) consents.

You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within arm’s reach to your stash. You may only stash targets which are in your possession, grappled, or otherwise controlled by you.

You may store any targets in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside an SUV (4,000 liters), and you may store up to 3 things at a time.

Animate targets may Resist being stashed.

Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Scarred Left Eye - All Perception rolls that are reliant on having both eyes are at -2 dice. Any Perception roll that would be easier with both eyes is at -1 dice..

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Gun Nut - You have an unhealthy obsession with guns. (Whenever you would see a deadly firearm, you must roll Self Control or try to obtain it).

  • Containers which hold multiple things may count as a single item so long as the things within are generally packaged together. For instance, you may stash a clip full of bullets, a medical kit full of medical supplies, or a box of crackers, but you cannot stash a backpack full of miscellaneous equipment.
  • You may only attempt to store Objects which are free-standing and disconnected from other things. The use of this Effect will not allow you to sever any connections holding an Object in place.
  • The Maximum Object Size parameter is intended to roughly capture the weight / size restriction of items and isn’t intended to restrict shape. GM discretion is advised. A human being is level 4 in the Maximum Object Size parameter.
