The power to start and extinguish fires with ease.
Used by Burnout, Created by OffBrandOreo.
(Anyone who witnesses you activate this Effect is very likely to be disturbed to see Burnout literally bursts on fire, and his skin appears to melt off his body. )

Burnout gets pissed off and erupts into a burst of flames.

Fire originates from Burnout and burns outwards.

This Effect activates whenever failing or botching a Self-Control or Limit roll. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a target within arm's reach which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire).

You may start a new fire as large as a Christmas tree fire at your target. You may create fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.

Lighting a target on fire deals 5 Damage each Round on your turn, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the targetโ€™s Armor rating will be depleted by any Damage dealt, destroying the Armor once it reaches 0.

You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Burnout literally bursts on fire, and his skin appears to melt off his body.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Customer Service - Whenever a situation escalates or you would be made angry, roll Self-Control to not escalate (often violently).

  • When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.
  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • Someone may attempt to extinguish a fire that you started by spending an Action and rolling Dexterity + Athletics. An Outcome of 5 puts out the fire
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.

  • Operating some locking mechanisms through this Effect may have a secondary effect, such as a turn-key ignition on an older or cheaper car causing it to start or stop. Note that the locking mechanism itself must satisfy the standard targeting requirements (including line of sight), not just the vehicle.
  • Any mechanism that requires a key, keycard, key fob, or combination may be considered locked, at the GM's discretion. This Effect may be used on doors and containers secured with control panels or other electronic locks, but not computer security systems at large.

Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. You must use up at least a gallon of water in order to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on yourself that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Brawn + Survival at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.

  • Unstabilized wounds do not degenerate during treatment.
