Nathan provides a mirror reflecting the target creature. As they do so, walking into the image is his reflection who breaks off a fragment of itself and drives it into the target, embedding it deep within their reflection. Their essence is spread throughout the entity where it then is able to puppet the body.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Creature within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use a non-organic reflective object to activate this Effect.
For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow.
Your commands can be complex and multi-layered, though they must still be specific. You cannot make them obviously endanger themselves or violate their instinct for self-preservation. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.
Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
Nov. 2, 2024, 12:26 p.m. - Revision Cost: 5. Added Enhancement: Mechanic, Added Drawback: Exhausting
Dottie seems entranced as she puts together a small plate of food, positioning everything quickly but still taking time to ensure it is all just so. She places the meal inside the fridge with the reverence you'd offer a king before stepping inside and seemingly disappearing into a puff of warm, earthy smoke.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Location within your line of sight , and which is directly adjacent to a Fridge/Cooler/Freezer. You must use up a recently prepared meal in order to activate this Effect. You must be within arm's reach of a Fridge/Cooler/Freezer to activate this Effect.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. Anyone who is touching you as you Travel will be brought along with you. You must wait an hour before activating this effect again.
If you traverse any Kitchen for one minute, you may activate this Effect and travel to the edge of any other Kitchen that you’re aware of, regardless of range.
Immediately on arriving at a new destination, you may spend your next Action to return to the starting location without Exerting your Mind.
When you Travel, you leave a faint puff of frankincense scented smoke as a distinct trail between your starting and end points.
Cleaning implement in hand, Birch moves their tool as if cleaning their target. As they do so, the physical wound does not close up immediately, but the target's perspective shifts. As Birch “cleans” the negative energy out of the wound, target’s pain fades, bleeding and further injury halts to a stop. The wound is healed, but the physical mark in the body will take longer to close up.
Roll Perception + Cleaning secondary
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use cleaning implement (e.g. mop, duster, etc.) to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Perception + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
Aira skims through her phone, using her enhanced intellectual abilities to see through certain aspects of reality in her radius of influence, allowing her to reap the knowledge of the land and of the things living on it. Though... Taking in that much information may sometimes short circuit her mind
Spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 500 feet You must actively and obviously use Smartphone to activate this Effect. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Technomania - You are hyper-fixated and obsessed with coding and game design. Whenever you encounter an object or creature of surprising coding or going against the game's design principles you must roll Self Control to not majorly pursue, probe, or otherwise qualitatively document the specimen. In life-threatening situations against creatures or objects of an obvious game-breaking manner, you instead "freeze" or become entranced in experimentative thought for at least a Round.
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
The psychic fiend chats with their patient about how they are to be upgraded and the conditions that they must adhere to. At the end of the conversation, the fiend takes the patient's hands and says a few words of The Dark Tongue. A jolt of dramatic but harmless hellfire travels from the fiend to the patient, imbuing them with a portion of his power.
Are you an up-and-coming blues player who needs a little something extra to hit it big? Do you need a little outside help to land the perfect date? Do you punches need a little extra. . .punch? You've come to the right place. For the low low price of a favor to be defined later, we can make you better, stronger, faster at whatever you want.
Of course, in a month, you'll need a fresh dose and the favor will be larger but hey, you can't put a price on success, right?
Exert your Mind and spend 30 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Trauma and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
The augmentations you provide are not outwardly visible nor obvious.
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
Dr. Freeman makes a circular incision around his patient's head and removes the top of their skull. He closes his eyes, places his fingertips directly on the patient's brain, and starts to massage the grey matter. He may then sift through the patient's memories at will. As he does so, little electric arcs crackle between his fingertips and the exposed brain. This procedure is incredibly invasive and thorough but may cause the death of the patient.
Exert your Mind (unless the target has an Intellect of 2 or less) and spend 2 Actions. Select a Living, Animate target within arm's reach This Effect cannot be used unless you are touching the target's naked brain. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you destroy the target's brain, killing them. You must maintain Concentration while the effect is active. Roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6. The target may Resist.
You are able to view your target's memories. The target is unaware their memories are being probed. The Effect ends if the target moves out of range or your Concentration is interrupted.
You may ask specific questions about their memory - “what is their computer password,” “What were they doing at 4:00PM yesterday,” etc - but you cannot get answers to broad, analytical questions like “are they a good person?” or “what are their plans for the future?”
Each question you ask and memory you replay takes a single Round to read.
You may read memories that the target has forgotten.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see you touching the target's naked brain.
The mutant now occasionally lays large, orange-speckled eggs. These Eggs do not hatch nor spoil. If cracked and applied to a chronic injury such as a missing limb, the scar heals completely within the hour. However, any area healed by the egg will forever carry an inhuman appearance as testament to the bizarre method of treatment.
Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect. If used on a Battle Scar caused by an Unstabilized Injury, that Injury is Stabilized.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.
The Skeleton Key slips easily into any keyhole and turns without a fuss.
Spend an Action.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open any number of doors, containers, knots, or locks within arm's reach of you. Cannot be used on Alien technology.
If you successfully operate a lock, you may choose to destroy it, rendering it inoperable.
As a free creature, The Fairy cannot withstand being caged or imprisioned in any way. Luckily, they possess a glamour that allows them to unlock any lock binding them with a wink of their eye. The lock falls open with a sparkle of light and a sound like a ringing bell.
Spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien door, container, knot, or lock within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless the targeted lock or door is being used to restrain or imprison you.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
The doctor is a master at surgical transplantation. As long as they have a donor part, they can replace any permanent, lingering battle scars on their patient. Of course, the transplanted part doesn't always match, and the patient must be careful to follow the doctor's aftercare orders, or the replacement will be rejected.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must use up a donor body part matching the injured area in order to activate this Effect. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect. If used on a Battle Scar caused by an Unstabilized Injury, that Injury is Stabilized.
You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition. Lasts until the end of their next Contract or 1 month for non-Contractors.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind a mismatched replacement on the target which cannot be healed.
The creature's claws rip through the poor, defenseless doctor's coat, opening deep gashes in their gut. It bares its fangs to lunge for the killing blow, but the doctor looks up at the attacker. Their eyes filed not with utter terror at their imminent demise, only a look of disappointment and pity. Touched, the monster hesitates. . .
This Effect activates whenever you receive a Severity 2 or higher Injury from an attack. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Living target within 45 feet. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by remorse for hurting such a pure soul. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
