Ted pulls out his tools and checks over the target machine, swapping out parts, repairing damage, and making sure everything is in working order. Anyone paying attention will notice that his tools and materials seem to come out of nowhere, as if he's pulling them out from off-screen.
In a fit of emotional turmoil, Ted Westwood awakened a superhuman ability to repair technology, his despair and love of his companion fuelling his ability to fix the machine.
Exert your Mind and spend 10 minutes. Select a Object within arm's reach that is no larger than an SUV. You may target Alien technology, so long as you have an understanding of its intended function. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll Dexterity + Crafts at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target. If your target only requires fuel or power and is otherwise in working order, this Effect costs no Exertion, and the target is fueled/powered for the next 24 hours.
You possess a pair of wings. However, due to your young age they are too weak to properly fly, only gliding and flapping in place.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
As long as you are conscious, you are immune to falling Damage and may hover in place mid-air. Additionally, you may glide as you fall, traveling 35 feet horizontally for every 10 feet you fall. While gliding, you fall at a minimum speed of 10 feet per Round.
You are subject to the following effects while gliding:
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Prey Drive.
Spark's eyes unfocus as they concentrate fully on the Flame, and start quickly sorting through the list of override codes command gave them, while connecting wirelessly to the device in question.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Computer within 20 feet. Does not work on Alien technology. Roll Intellect + Technology, with the Difficulty set by the GM depending on the security of the system you are hacking. Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you may issue a single command to the targeted system. This command must have a specific outcome or be a request for specific login credentials. The command you issue must be within the machine's current capabilities. For example, you cannot order a standard security camera to grow legs and walk around.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is unfocused eyes. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
Your Hack cannot be reversed through mundane means for a number of hours equal to your Outcome.
Every hack you make leaves behind a warning pop-up that the system has been overriden and locked down on the order of C&C in the system as a personal "calling card" that informs anyone who uses the system that the hack occurred.
Acting like a seed for a mundane crystal, the user holds an item significantly associated with their knowledge and experiences to themselves as they crystallize related ideas into physical form. These crystals visibly coalesce around the user while this is taking effect. While the possible candidates for a "principal memory" to serve as a seed are as varied as the experiences of the user, mementos of previous or current Contracts produce results much more readily.
While this does not impact any normal functionality of this "principal memory", any item used in such a way will appear slightly vitrified and translucent, and reflect light somewhat readily: this continues after all of the "vitrified memories" lose coherence from proximity or destruction. This appears to bring them to the level of a Contract-associated "principal memory".
Inspecting an individual "vitrified memory" from the cloud shows a reflection of some facet of the concept, often the user's personal memories of such. Appearing like anomalously-floating crystal glass from a distance, the varied reflections betray their status as solidified ideas with durability to match.
This application cannot subdivide beyond a single diffuse cloud, though can be shaped into rough forms while diffuse and temporarily fused into a solid glass object. When not explicitly structured, these tend to stay either generally diffuse or in an approximation of their contents: a "principal memory" associated with gardening would tend to floral motifs, for example. Those motifs are - more often than not - reflected in the form they would take when condensed to a single solid form.
Sufficient disruption of physical integrity or a lack of anchoring cognizance in proximity breaks the physical forms apart, returning them to pure memories that lack the spark to be given physical form for a while.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
Summon the one and only Sapient cloud of vitrified memory at your location. They last until they move more than 150 feet from you or are destroyed They are controlled by you. You may have at most one minion active at a time.
If killed, you cannot re-summon your minion until after your next Contract.
Kenneth's face turns completely blank. The expressions of whatever, or whoever he was impersonating is gone. Beneath this demeanor now exists a blatant grin.
He seems to be hyper-aware of where things will be, and when things will happen. The gun in is hands is just the right weight, allowing his movements to slink in that perfect snap-shot.
Kenneth's third eye is open, with him being able to predict when - and where - someone, or something, will be.
He would draw a gun the second before he needed to line a shot, and he would shoot a bullet the moment he needed to intercept another.
The rest is just him being an excellent shot.
You gain the following benefits as long as engaged in combat with Big-Bore Handguns.
+2 dice to all Big-Bore Handguns rolls.
You also gain the following effects:
Jinny turns grey and gradually into a pile of ash which then in turn takes the form of something akin to a bunny, but still half transparent and made of ash particles flowing in and out of the shape.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
You transform into a Bunny made of ash for the next minute. You may end the effect early and return to your normal form at will. Your structure must remain relatively contiguous. Observers will view you as an unusual entity moving with a singular purpose.
While in this form, you can squeeze through any gap that is not air-tight, though this may take more than one Action at GMs discretion.
Damage from standard attacks is halved, but Damage from AOE effects is increased by 1. You may suffer Damage from wind and powerful gusts at GM’s discretion.
You cannot communicate, use equipment, or use Gifts while transformed. Your equipment does not transform with you beyond basic body coverings. Carrying capacity is unaffected.
This Effect ends if you take an Injury or are stunned or incapacitated.
The Witch summons a crow, whispers a message to it, and sends it off to deliver her words. Half an hour later, the crow arrives at the recipient and repeats her message aloud in its croaking, animal voice.
Spend an Action. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location.
You may send a single message to your target. It can be as complex or as large as you like. It takes at least 30 minutes before it is received.
The message may be intercepted while in transit, and may be overheard, read, or otherwise understood by anyone near either you or the recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Unimportant characters just can't seem to hit our hero with their attacks. Injuries that are sustained from underlings are conveniently non-severe.
You gain the following benefits as long as the attacker isn't important enough to have a name.
You have 4 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack. This Armor cannot be circumvented with Called Shots.
The Necromancer stands over a corpse and makes a series of grandiose lifting gestures. The corpse rises from the ground as though suspended by invisible strings, barks a pained groan, and lands on its feet, now a full-fledged member of the living dead.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend an Action. You must use up corpse in order to activate this Effect.
Summon up to 3 Non-Sapient, Animate zombie at your location. They last for two hours or until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 3 minions active at a time.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
It's true the mad scientist is one of the greatest minds of our generation, that they can solve any puzzle or riddle. However, no one wants to spend time with them.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
Your Intellect rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
You also gain the following effects:
As long as the ninja is carrying a weapon, their self-defense is almost subconscious. Subtle twitches and lighting-fast feints and parries using sword and scabbard can buy the ninja precious seconds to enact an escape plan or make the kill.
You gain the following benefits at all times. You must actively and obviously be using a sword to gain the benefits of this Effect.
You have 4 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack. This Armor cannot be circumvented with Called Shots.
Whenever your Armor reduces incoming Damage, you are immediately made aware of the source of the Damage. You may pinpoint their location for 30 seconds.
Any time your Armor prevents Damage, your Armor rating is temporarily decreased by 2. Whenever it goes five Rounds without preventing any Damage, it is restored back to its full value.
