As a superhero, Alan is able to express himself far better than he can normally. The raw power of his personality is enough to bend the rules of the world around him-- things instead operating as they would in a TV show or comic book.
You gain the following benefits as long as you are in your Superhero Form and you have your animated, circular eyes.
Your Charisma rating is increased by 0. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Charisma (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.
You also gain the following effects:
- Anime: You may have a 30 second conversation with another character on your initiative each Round in Combat, and using any Communication Effect takes a Free Action instead of a full Action.
- Call me Senpai: You may ask to be called by a specific title. Sapient beings will use this title when addressing you, unless they Exert their Mind to resist for the day. You may use an Influence Effect on anyone who uses your title without Exerting your Mind. One free activation per individual per day.
- Honest Eyes: Your word is accepted as honest so long as you are speaking the truth as you understand it. You can always tell if someone telling a lie without making a roll, though you may not know what they are concealing
- Me, an Empath: You have an intuitive understanding of the emotional state of any Animate being within 30 feet. Once per person per day you may roll Charisma + Influence to learn what things they respect or disrespect in others.
- The Price Of Fame: Any sightings or recordings of your activity can easily be traced back to you. Even when disguised or using an alias, people always get a Perception check to recognize you.
- On its own, your empath abilities do not allow you to detect lies.
- If your animated, circular eyes is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months.
- Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

Charlatans

Nowadays you can't go a day without some phony prophet trying to peddle their wares to you.
Driven by the increased interest in the supernatural, charlatans from palm readers to televangelists are everywhere. And while the vast majority of witches, psychics, magicians, hypnotists, cures, potions, faith healers, and clairvoyants are complete fakes, they do make a living.
As the saying goes, "it's easier for an actor to make it in alternative medicine than Hollywood."
Most people scoff at these clearly-phony supernatural services, yet those same people often buy into at least one scam.
The most dangerous charlatans are the self-styled monster hunters who carry a mall-ninja arsenal and guns with silver bullets. Most have never encountered anything supernatural and do absolutely nothing besides burn some sage and patrol the area for a night or two. Even so, those who are superstitious, fearful, or desperate enough will hire them to solve the problems they simply don't understand. In some cases with disastrous results.
For Contractors, charlatans are red herrings and obstacles. Clumsy fakes that conjure a smokescreen of misinformation and escalate the situations they're in.

- No Choice But To Stan: If someone speaks or acts against you socially, anyone observing it must roll Mind, with the difficulty equal to your Charisma, in order to not defend you.
- Party Animal: You are welcome at, and will be granted entrance to, any social gathering or party, at least as an observer.
- Poker Face: You reveal only what you want to reveal. It is impossible to determine whether or not you are lying. You may roll Charisma + Performance to resist any investigative Effect that targets you. If you successfully resist, you determine the info they get.
- Being forced to Stan will not force someone to violate any of their Limits or to engage in violence of any kind (though they may still do so of their own volition).
- A "social gathering" might include a birthday party, after-work drinks, a ski trip, or yoga in the park, among other things. It likely would not include a cult gathering to summon a demon, Congressional negotiations over a contentious bill, etc.
- In rare cases, GMs may require you to make a roll to lie to particularly powerful beings.
- Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

Everyone around looks at you with a new perspective, taking you words as if golden silk. It can cause headaches, and lairs cause annoyance.

- In rare cases, GMs may require you to make a roll to detect a lie from particularly powerful beings (trickster gods, etc).
Otherworldly Grace
Jordan has a social grace that seems so unreal, it can’t possibly have come from Earth. He seems to speak like he already knows things about people, things he shouldn’t know.
Jordan talks to people in a way that is weirdly comfortable to them, even though he’s often a complete stranger to them. He’s really good at mixing into human conversation and custom, almost like he was custom designed to infiltrate it. He has a cultural and situational lexicon in his head that allows him to adapt and slip through any social situation.
Jordan was literally custom designed to infiltrate human societies by his alien masters. Now that he’s awakening to his true nature, his sleeper powers are slowly coming online, with his hardcoded social training finally activating. He came prebuilt with a Lexicon of many human social and cultural norms, which his brain can now access.
