Augustine is paper thin really, a man you think there is more depth to than there is. He can fight, he is smarter than most. And he is equally as fragile, ripping himself apart like paper at every opportunity.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
Your Intellect rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: You must roll self control in any suitably overstimulating situation to avoid ripping out your skin and causing further injury..
You also gain the following effects:
- Never Forget: You have a perfect photographic memory, and can recall or recreate even complex and detailed things. If you forget something you had previously seen or noticed, you may ask the GM and they will remind you.
- Quick Thinking: Any Intellect rolls other than Power activations are made as Free Actions. You get +2 dice to all Initiative rolls.
- Insufferable Know-It-All: Any social rolls you make are at +1 difficulty, and if someone else can answer an informational question or solve a puzzle before you do, make a Trauma roll.
- Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

Charlatans

Nowadays you can't go a day without some phony prophet trying to peddle their wares to you.
Driven by the increased interest in the supernatural, charlatans from palm readers to televangelists are everywhere. And while the vast majority of witches, psychics, magicians, hypnotists, cures, potions, faith healers, and clairvoyants are complete fakes, they do make a living.
As the saying goes, "it's easier for an actor to make it in alternative medicine than Hollywood."
Most people scoff at these clearly-phony supernatural services, yet those same people often buy into at least one scam.
The most dangerous charlatans are the self-styled monster hunters who carry a mall-ninja arsenal and guns with silver bullets. Most have never encountered anything supernatural and do absolutely nothing besides burn some sage and patrol the area for a night or two. Even so, those who are superstitious, fearful, or desperate enough will hire them to solve the problems they simply don't understand. In some cases with disastrous results.
For Contractors, charlatans are red herrings and obstacles. Clumsy fakes that conjure a smokescreen of misinformation and escalate the situations they're in.

You gain the following benefits at all times.
Your Intellect rating is increased by 0. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
You also gain the following effects:
- Multithreaded: Instead of being unable to take Actions while maintaining Concentration, you may now take Actions at a -2 dice penalty.
- Push Through It: When you Exert your Mind to ignore Penalty and gain +1 to your Outcome, it lasts for 3 Rounds.
- Insufferable Know-It-All: Any social rolls you make are at +1 difficulty, and if someone else can answer an informational question or solve a puzzle before you do, make a Trauma roll.
- Being Injured or interrupted in some way can still break your Concentration.
Symbiotic Intelligence
The Flower boosts cognitive capacity by inserting itself as a superior neural bridge within the lobes of the brain...
The symbiotic organism has fully bonded with the host. They no longer risk rejection or sudden germination, & have full access to the cognitive enhancement of the symbiote. Sometimes, while thinking hard, onlookers might note unsightly bulges in the cranium where the tendrils pulse rhythmically.
You gain the following benefits as long as you have your Algernon's Flower.
Your Intellect rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.
You also gain the following effects:
- Never Forget: You have a perfect photographic memory, and can recall or recreate even complex and detailed things. If you forget something you had previously seen or noticed, you may ask the GM and they will remind you.
- If your Algernon's Flower is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months, or until you can recover any relevant missing items (which may involve a side-game and requires a GM to approve whatever process is used).
Mana Matrix
If I approach infinity, then you can be my limitations.
Rei's artificial mental processors have been imbued by the wellspring of mana within them, resulting in an inhuman intellect. They are able to access a mental database of information they have internalized, as well as instantly calculate and simulate future outcomes to adjust accordingly. Whenever they access these effects, their visual processors faintly glow as they draw in ambient mana for power and scan the environment for information.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
Your Intellect rating is increased by 2. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: asdf.
You also gain the following effects:
- Multithreaded: Instead of being unable to take Actions while maintaining Concentration, you may now take Actions at a -2 dice penalty. You may maintain Concentration from two different Effects, but you are unable to take Actions when doing so.
- Never Forget: You have a perfect photographic memory, and can recall or recreate even complex and detailed things. If you forget something you had previously seen or noticed, you may ask the GM and they will remind you.
- Prodigy: Whenever you witness someone get an Outcome of 6 or higher, or someone demonstrates an Ability with the intent of teaching you, you may Exert your Mind. If you do, rolls using that Ability use their rating instead of your own for the next day.
- Sheer Willpower: You may Exert your Mind up to three times per Round, including multiple times for each roll.
- Insufferable Know-It-All: Any social rolls you make are at +1 Difficulty, and if someone else can answer an informational question or solve a puzzle before you do, make a Trauma roll. The Difficulty of this Trauma roll cannot be reduced by any means.
- Being Injured or interrupted in some way can still break your Concentration.
- When you exert multiple times, if you have the Enhancement Push Through It, the lingering Outcome bonus is limited to +1.
- Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.
Revelations
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
Anthony bears a brand on his forehead in the shape of the inverted cross. On close inspection, the brand seems to smoulder faintly while he is deep in thought, and almost seems to emit a faint light.
The source of Anthony's preternatural genius is not his own - it is the Lord. Through his brand, the Lord offers visions and insights to Anthony: never anything precise or anything complete, but enough that they allow him to make leaps of logic impossible to normal people, and to think, act, and respond quicker than is humanly possible, as his thoughts are completed by the Lord in the same span as he has them. The knowledge almost always comes in metaphor or visions, never direct conclusions, and serves less to provide completely new information to Anthony than to highlight details or make connections between things he already knows, but would be unable to combine on his own.
You gain the following benefits as long as you have your scar in the shape of the inverted cross on your forehead.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Obligate Savior: You must roll Self Control in order to break one of your limits.
If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.
You also gain the following effects:
- Brilliant Deduction: You may spend five minutes pondering an enigma, puzzle, or mystery, and roll Intellect at Difficulty 8. Success will reveal a clue or other tidbit that you have otherwise missed. Limit once per enigma.
- Quick Thinking: Any Intellect rolls other than Power activations are made as Free Actions. You get +2 dice to all Initiative rolls.
- Wait For Your Moment: You may take your Action on the turn of anyone who has a lower Initiative than you. If you do, you receive +2 dice to that roll.
- If your scar in the shape of the inverted cross on your forehead is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months.
- Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.
