As Lucian, the vegan vampire, stands in the cool nighttime breeze, he takes a moment to embrace the darkness and open his heightened senses to the world around him. His keen vampire senses enable him to perceive details that elude ordinary humans.
With his supernatural olfactory senses, Lucian can detect the subtlest scents in the air. He inhales deeply, letting the myriad aromas flow through him. His nose twitches slightly as he distinguishes the scent of humans nearby, their individual nuances and the unique composition of their blood calling out to him.
Lucian's ethically driven nature means he won't harm humans, but he can still appreciate the complexity of their scents and the richness of their life forces. In this moment, he doesn't feast, but rather, he relishes the connection to the living world, a world he navigates with a sense of responsibility and compassion.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. This Effect cannot be used unless must have drank blood in the last 12 hours.
You automatically detect all Humans, Undead, and Creatures and Animate beings with flowing blood within 300 feet of you for the next hour. This includes any who come within range during the duration. You have a sense of how many valid targets are nearby, as well as their distance and direction.
If no Humans, Undead, and Creatures or Animate beings with flowing blood targets are within 300 feet of you, and then one enters range, you automatically detect it, even if this Effect is not active.

A writhing mass of metal chains rises out of the floor at Grayson’s call…when the revenant spirit of Leyding is in the mood. It is a fickle thing, and knows not whether to trust his potential. Right now, it does not always come when he beckons.
This mass of winding, rusted, broken chains fires off a few links at his target, interrupting or binding them in a spectral embrace.
Leyding…one of the two chains broken attempting to bind Fenrir. When Leyding broke, its ghost carried on. A ghost without a home. A ghost with failed purpose. Thousands of years later…in the unlikeliest of places, its spirit latched on to a young rocker on the streets of Seattle. He had a gift for convincing people. And Leyding learned from its successor Gleipnir—that the trick to trapping someone is often in convincing them there is no escape.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within 20 feet. Roll Dexterity + Influence at Difficulty 6. the target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, your target will be restricted at their location by an intangible, ethereal binding. They cannot move to a new location, and, if your Contested Outcome was greater than their Mind divided by 2, they are encased and cannot take any physical Actions until they break free.
Restricted targets may attempt to break the binding and escape by spending an Action and rolling Mind at Difficulty 7. Breaking free requires a total cumulative Outcome equal or greater than the original Contested Outcome.
You may use this Effect as a Reaction to contest any physical Action a target is taking. Excess Outcome does not restrict the target.
Your bindings affect intangible beings like ghosts.
This gift has no appearance.

Those who attack a being as pure as Terry find themselves regretting their decision, changing their mind mid-attack, and forever abhorring violence.
This Effect activates whenever a target injures Terry, dealing at least a severity-2 Injury or looks upon the injury up close. One per injury. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Sapient or Creature target within arm's reach. You may select a target at any range if you use up an injury caused by the target of the target. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. Roll Charisma + Influence Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically.
If your Contested Outcome is positive, your target takes 1 point of Mind Damage and gains a new Trauma of your choice. The Trauma should be general and not specifically mention you. You should not have to be involved to trigger the Trauma.
This Trauma may be removed by Effects or mundane therapy, as normal. Targets that receive a new Trauma are aware that you are interacting with them but they do not view it as an attack or view the resulting Trauma as malicious. If their Trauma is treated, they will be able to see the reality of the situation.
Oz brings the cigarette to his lips and taps the ash off its end with a casual flick, as if entirely unaware of the grotesque transformation about to unfold. A single flake of ash drifts downward—slow, serene, unaffected by gravity's urgency or the surrounding chaos. It hovers and twists lazily in the air, utterly unbothered by the screams, blood, or tension nearby.
Then, where that speck of ash touches the earth, flesh begins to grow—slow and deliberate at first, like muscle stretching beneath skin. Faces—flattened, stretched, and locked in silent torment begin to rise, pressed like frescoes against the ever-thickening mass. The wall expands outward in a straight line, up to 40 feet long and 10 feet high, forming a solid slab of compacted skin, muscle, bone, and cursed soul-matter. It’s flat enough to walk across... for the most part -- though the sensation underfoot is sickening.
Observers feel the air grow heavier, the world slightly wrong—like Hell has blinked into their reality for just a moment. And all the while, that first ashflake drifts to rest... as though it had nothing to do with any of this.
Oz didn’t learn this from a wizard’s tome or a back-alley occultist. He learned it from a creature that most would’ve overlooked—a frail, withered thing, ancient beyond comprehension but hollowed out by time. It wasn’t terrifying when Oz found it. It was hiding. Hunted by a third-rate monster hunter with more bravado than brains.
The thing could barely stand. Its claws were chipped, its eyes sunken and dull. But when Oz saw the hunter raise their weapon, something in him rebelled. Maybe it was pity. Maybe curiosity. Maybe a whisper of something older.
In gratitude, the creature offered him a secret—a technique older than most names, passed down not to preserve power, but to be rid of it. A method born in the Fifth Circle of Hell, back when Wrath still had shape and weight.
The technique hinges on equivalence: a tiny, forgotten thing—a piece of ash—can be traded, momentarily, for something vast and wrathful and real. The ash is a symbol. Burned, spent, weightless. Exactly the opposite of what it summons. That’s the balance. That’s the key.
The wall doesn't scream, but it wants to.

This alteration lasts three hours but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 6 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see a literal wall of corpses and suffering souls..
When the James activates "Phantom Arsenal," the air around him shimmers with an ethereal glow, and the ghostly figure of his sister appears beside him, her translucent form exuding a serene yet formidable presence. She gestures gracefully, and a swirling vortex of spectral energy materializes, revealing a selection of items.
As the James selects an item, it solidifies into his hand, glowing with an eerie luminescence and leaving a faint trail of spectral mist with every movement. The sister's ghost remains visible for a few moments longer, offering a silent nod of encouragement before fading back into the shadows
