A Grey and Black flexible nanocomposite layer of seemingly organic circuitry has grown on Dr. Lazcowicz's back, covering the area from the C7 to T4 vertibra with a width approximately 3 inches across. When using the augmented capacities of the distributed nanite AI, subdermal circuit pathways glow blue with white points traversing them like "packets" of information. During all uses the traces between the unit along his spine to the base of his skull are visible. When using deduction, traces appear to connect this "trunk line" to his eyes, ears, and runs a faint latticework under his hair across his head. When holding actions or exerting for automatic success, lines spread to relevant limbs as well, but for all uses the area around the spinal device is brightest, shining through normal clothing.

If the device is significantly damaged, torn from his skin, or surgically removed, it will self repair or grow back over the course of a couple of months, but in the meantime the Doc will be back to his own grey matter and lose the benefits of direct communion with the AI.

You gain the following benefits as long as you have your Nanocomposite Organic Translation Bus.

Your Intellect rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).

If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Brilliant Deduction: You may spend five minutes pondering an enigma, puzzle, or mystery, and roll Intellect at Difficulty 8. Success will reveal a clue or other tidbit that you have otherwise missed. Limit once per enigma.
  • Re-Think: You may wait until after all relevant rolls have been made to decide whether to Exert your Mind and get +1 to the Outcome. If Exerting would have caused you to ignore your Stress and roll more dice, you may roll that many additional dice as well.
  • Wait For Your Moment: You may take your Action on the turn of anyone who has a lower Initiative than you. If you do, you receive +2 dice to that roll.

  • If your Nanocomposite Organic Translation Bus is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months.
  • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

You gain the following benefits at all times.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Remarkably Self-Aware: You may roll Intellect at Difficulty 6 to “scan” yourself for abnormalities. With Outcome 1-3, any outside influences on your thoughts/mind will be detected, as well as Traumas. With Outcome 4+, you may Exert your Mind to cancel the Effect. One attempt per Effect.

Your Intellect rating is increased by. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).

If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Never Forget: You have a perfect photographic memory, and can recall or recreate even complex and detailed things. If you forget something you had previously seen or noticed, you may ask the GM and they will remind you.
  • Push Through It: When you Exert your Mind to ignore Penalty and gain +1 to your Outcome, it lasts for a number of rounds equal to your Intellect.
  • Insufferable Know-It-All: Any social rolls you make are at +1 difficulty, and if someone else can answer an informational question or solve a puzzle before you do, make a Trauma roll.

  • If your Bags Under Eyes - Sleep 6 hours or less every night! is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months, or until you can recover any relevant missing items (which may involve a side-game and requires a GM to approve whatever process is used).

You gain the following benefits as long as you have your runes of brassy metal around my skull.

Your Intellect rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Intellect (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).

If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.

You also gain the following effects:
