Harry must use the tool (In the case of his uncle's runed multitool, probably the knife or metal file from it) to etch the same bindrune into an object. This takes him about 30 seconds. At the end, he focuses his mind to infuse the new rune precisely with his power and intent (made more difficult if the object is already suffused with otherworldly power), and both begin to faintly glow. If he has carved and infused the rune properly it will glow faintly and become a nature part of the object (embossed, stamped, or part of the design of the paint or finish, but appearing as though it belongs) and the object will be restored to a proper state and function. Failure will see the rune harmlessly spark out and remain a crude carving.
Spend 10 Rounds. Select a Object within arm's reach that is no larger than an SUV. Cannot be used on Alien technology. You must actively and obviously use a tool marked with a bindrune of ᛐᛒ to activate this Effect. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll Dexterity + Crafts at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.
As Bryan folds the paper in his form, so too does any paper surface around him-- sculpting, bending, and morphing in the same way his paper is folded. The creation of a shape requires him to carefully fold the paper into the desired design, which cause strands of the paper to supernaturally extend and weave themselves together to create the surface.
Exert your Mind (unless you are Sculpting) and spend an Action. Select a Location within 50 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless you are in your Amorphous Transformation. You must actively and obviously use folding paper to activate this Effect.
Select one of the following alterations to create out of paper originating at the target:
The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.
This alteration lasts indefinitely but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 18 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.
You may sculpt your walls, domes, or tunnels as you create them, without any additional activation time or cost.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Opportunist: You are always looking for opportunities to gain more status, power, fame, etc. Whenever you are offered a considerable reward for your work, you must succeed a Self-Control roll in order to resist accepting or trusting the offerer and Delusions of Grandeur: As one of the world's greatest minds and greatest artists, you believe yourself to be the very best, superior to anyone else you meet. You must succeed a Self-Control roll in order to believe something or take an action which contradicts this delusion.
Kalist uses his position as a mob enforcer to make deals that reduce the particpant's debt.
You may make an oath with any number of physically-present, Sapient targets. Communicate the oath's terms to the targets, including the requirements and penalties for each participant. If all agree to the terms, you must Exert your Mind and all participants must shake hands to seal the deal.
Record the oath as a Condition. If a party breaks the oath, the Condition ends and they suffer the oath's penalty.
When crafting your oath, you may incorporate any of the following penalties:
The targets cannot be compelled to agree via a direct threat of violence, another Effect, or another oath. If you would like to use clever wording to mislead the targets, you must succeed a contested Intellect + (Culture or Influence) roll.
Whenever a participant breaks the oath, you are immediately made aware and may even witness the act as if standing nearby.
It is obvious to your targets that the oath you are proposing will be supernaturally enforced.
The same terms and penalties must apply to every party in each deal.
The cross sucks the soul into it and then produces a silvery projectile, travelling down the user's arm. The user makes a finger gun gesture and their soul exits in the form of a spectral bullet, flying towards the target, if they don't manage to resist the mental assault, their soul swaps places with the user's. The user, expecting the change, is still able to benefit from the target's muscle memory and can remain in their body indefinitely if they get their original body killed.
Notably, the bullet doesn't get stopped by people standing in its way, passing right through them.
So, force the contested roll when either body dies, but gets to bypass the truama and limit pools. That's how this is approved. ~ Poly
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living or Sapient target within 300 feet. Roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you possess your target for a number of minutes equal to the Contested Outcome. You are in full control of the host body’s actions.
Your host’s consciousness will similarly be swapped into your original body, and they will have full control over it until the Effect ends. You may spend an Action to end the possession early.
Stats: During the possession, you use the host body’s Body rating, but your own Mind rating. Any rolls you make use the host body’s Brawn, Dexterity, and Perception but your own Charisma and Intellect. You may use either your own or the host’s Ability ratings, whichever is higher. You gain the effects of any physical Assets and Liabilities they have. You cannot read the target’s mind or memories.
Gifts: You have access to and can use any of your own Powers which are not intrinsic to your biology or physical body. You cannot access any Powers or other supernatural effects which the target has, unless they are intrinsic to the target’s biology or physical body.
Death: If the host body is killed or destroyed while you are still possessing it, you will die along with it. If the possession ends and your original body was killed, you may make a contested Mind roll against the host. The loser becomes a helpless observer as long as you both inhabit their body.
Eviction: If you attempt to force your host to take actions which would violate one of their Limits or their instinct for self-preservation, they may resist by rolling Mind. If their Outcome is higher than or equal to the contested Outcome, the possession ends and you are evicted from their body. Otherwise, they may Exert their Mind to evict you from their body.
Whenever the book is actively used, the ritual glyphs carved in Blanche's arm will open and weep. Blood will pool down their arms and coat their hands, seeping into the pages and bindings. When the transfer is complete, the pages are clean, and the scars will close once again.
Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an Action. Select two Sapient targets within arm's reach. If a target does not consent to the transfer, you must roll Body at Difficulty 6 to use the effect on them. They can resist by rolling either Body or Mind at Difficulty 6, depending on what you are attempting to transfer to them.
You may choose one each of as many things as you like from the following to transfer between your two targets:
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see a cable of blood connecting the two targets as searing pain is siphoned from one to the other.
The necromancer places his hands on the corpse, mumbles something under his breath, then a transparent figure can be seen slowly being dragged to the body of the deceased.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action to activate. Select a Dead target within arm's reach that has died within the last month.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts for the next day or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have all their Abilities set to 0. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see the transparent, screaming soul of the deceased entering the corpse.
This Effect ends if you are stunned, fall asleep, go unconscious, are incapacitated, die, or if your total Penalty ever exceeds 5.
Through the use of clever rhetoric, the spy is able to inspire a surge of emotion in a target with whom they are speaking.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. This Effect cannot be used unless you are engaged in conversation with the target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
The beastmaster puts their nose to the ground and sniffs about the area. Their feral nostrils tell them what sorts of creatures live in the area, and who lays claim to each region.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet Can only be activated while you are in the wilderness. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Survival at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
The influencer is 100% tuned-in to any sort of chatter about themselves. Any time someone nearby so much as whispers about them, they know who they were and what they said.
This Effect activates whenever someone talks about you. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a target Location within 75 feet.
You may perceive things through hearing as if you were standing at that Location for the next 30 minutes. You must maintain Concentration to keep up the effect. You cannot perceive anything at your physical location while the effect is active.
The Necromancer spits into the mouth of a recently deceased corpse. For the few minutes, the corpse's head comes back to life and speaks to the Necromancer.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Dead target within arm's reach. Dead targets must have died within the past week, and you must have their remains in your possession.
The target can communicate in your language for the next hour.
Through years of practice, the mobster is able to shatter someone's kneecap without much effort.
Spend an Action. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use a melee weapon to activate this Effect. Roll Brawn + Melee at Difficulty 6. The target may roll Body, -2 dice at Difficulty 7, as a Free Action to resist.
If you succeed, the target receives a new Battle Scar of your choosing, limited by the contested Outcome:
All alterations you make must damage the target's knees.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
