Arcane Cyborg MUX>>>DEMUX; Can't you understand me?

1
Requires Seasoned
You possess an augmented or inhuman body.
Used by Rei Hashimoto (零 橋本), Created by Monday.
(Your specific augmentation must be physically visible in some way, but it does not need to make you appear outwardly monstrous or socially unacceptable. )

The result of arcane magic secrets into an artificial frame to create an intelligent weapon, Rei is a hybrid between magic and machine. As such, their frame is half organic and steel, granting them heightened physical and logical ability. Additionally, their voice is partially synthetic, their words spoken as if through a filter.
Their implanted weapons deploy out of their hands, with their left having its fingers replaced by steel cylinders capable of rapid, automatic gunfire, and their right able to blast precise magical missiles from their wrist.

You gain the following benefits at all times.

You are permanently and visibly transformed: heterochromatic, cybernetic left eye. You are considered to be a Sapient, Living Computer when targeted. Your Dexterity is increased by 2 and your Intellect is increased by 2.

You may make a +2 Weapon Damage left high-caliber finger-guns [laser-dot submachine gun] and right magic missile blasters [laser-dot light pistol] attack without additional equipment.

Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Emotionless: Your lack of ability to convey emotion, combined with your inhuman appearance, makes social interaction more difficult. All social rolls are made at +1 Difficulty and Cyborg: Technological augments mark your body, making you easily recognizable and alienated from others.

You cannot ignore or decrease the effects of Stress for any social rolls you make.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Cold: You struggle with engaging in social interaction. In order to start a conversation with someone you have known for less than an hour, you must succeed a Self-Control roll. If you become the center of attention in a large group, you must succeed a Self-Control roll to avoid fleeing or shutting down.

The Severity of any Injury caused by electricity is increased by 2.

  • The increase in Injury Severity stacks with any similar effects, such as the Silver Bullets drawback on Regeneration.
  • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

Community Power Gifts

You gain the following benefits at all times. You must actively and obviously be using mask to gain the benefits of this Effect.

You are obscured in one of the following manners. You may Spend an Action to change the way in which you're concealed.

  • Arcane: You are partially obscured from being noticed by all senses, natural and supernatural. All attempts to notice you are rolled at -3 dice.
  • Hearing: You are completely obscured from hearing. You produce no sounds while this Effect is active. All attempts to detect you via hearing fail. Attempts via other senses where hearing would assist are rolled at -2 dice.

While this Effect is active, any Effect that would obscure you from other, additional senses fails automatically. If someone discovers you, this Effect will not help you hide from them for the next minute. Activating a targeted or obvious Effect, attacking, or being Injured ends the Effect. When the Effect ends, it is disabled for one minute.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: getting discovered, roll self-control.

  • GMs should use their discretion when determining the exact impacts of this Effect, particularly in conjunction with environmental factors. Standing still against a complex background may render you impossible to detect, and footprints in snow may make it easy. A chance to detect you is not guaranteed.

Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you On a critical failure inflict them with Algernon's Flower.. Over the course of one Downtime, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired. After the full treatment time has elapsed, roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6.

If your treatment is successful, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.

Your patient is required to assist at least one innocent in the next month in a meaningful way for the next month. If they violate this rule, your treatment is immediately reversed.

You may attempt to treat an unwilling patient. They may choose to resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7. The nature of their Trauma will still be revealed to you if you treat them successfully, though they may not tell you directly.

Once per day per target, you may choose to use this Effect to stabilize a target's Mind. Treatment takes 30 seconds but will not remove any Traumas. If you are successful, restore 2 Mind damage.

You may choose to use this Effect to temporarily relieve any number of the patient's Traumas (including permanent Traumas which were recorded as Conditions). In this case, Treatment takes 30 seconds and the effect lasts two hours. If the Patient is currently experiencing an episode, Difficulty is increased by 2.

  • The treatment time may be broken up into multiple sessions if necessary.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action.

Summon up to 3 Non-Sapient, Animate Skeletons at your location. They last until they move more than 150 feet from you or are destroyed They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. They will attack any Nonliving Animate targets they encounter immediately and will ignore your commands to do otherwise. You may have at most 3 minions active at a time.

  • Initiative: Minions act directly after you in Combat starting the Round after they are summoned.
  • Combat: Minions roll 4 dice to dodge, Grapple, or make unarmed Attacks. Their Attacks are melee range and deal +3 Damage.
  • Body/Mind: Minions have 7 Body. They automatically fail all Mind resistance rolls.
  • Armor: Minions have 3 Armor.
  • Movement: Minions can move 15 feet per Round as Free Movement and double that when performing an all-out Sprint.
  • Intelligence: Minions have dog-level intelligence and cannot communicate back to you. They cannot actively use Equipment.
  • Actions: Any Perception checks they make are rolled with 3 dice. They can lift and haul as though they have 4 Brawn.
  • Unusual: Minions are obviously Alien to any observer.

  • Minions will only attack Nonliving Animate targets that are larger than a mouse.
  • Your minions may count as additional targeting types based on their flavor. For example: Living, Computer, Creature, etc.

Laz's greater understanding and control afforded by his research and his MMI has allowed him to refine delivery to individual guided motes, rather than a crude dart. This allows him to focus everything on shutting down his foes before they can do harm to those around him, as well as freeing him from the mental strain of maintaining the lock. The cost of this lesser concentration is that without the overdosing attempt, targets are effectively dosed with melatonin rather than sedative.

Spend an Action. Select a Living target within 30 feet. Roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, your target becomes drowsy for the next 30 minutes, during which time they suffer an additional -2 dice Penalty to all Actions. At the end of their drowsiness, they fall into a state of sleep paralysis for Contested Outcome x 3 minutes. During this time, they remain fully conscious and aware of their surroundings but are incapable of taking any actions.

Sleeping targets will not prematurely wake up on their own, and can only be awoken by taking Damage or nearing death from hunger, thirst, or suffocation. Drowsy targets always fall asleep, regardless of what happens while they are drowsy.

When activating this Effect you may attempt a knockout. If you do and your Contested Outcome exceeds 4, the target falls asleep immediately. Otherwise, they suffer the drowsy penalty for 2 Rounds.

This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.

  • For targets where "sleep" does not make any sense in terms of flavor, they will power down, freeze, etc, whatever state they can be in which is analogous to sleep.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Freya's internals are incomplete. Her motherboard has space for several other attachments, parts of her limbs are hollow, clearly meant to house additional tools and modules. Currently, all of this sits unused, but Freya is quite literally filled with potential, should she ever have the opportunity to utilize it.

Her body is largely based on a human's, mimicing its needs so that when she was eventually completed and utilized in the field, logistics would not need to build around non-uniform needs. (This is largely false. An exuse employed by Freya's creator to buy herself time to perfect the model's energy systems. Although it led to break throughs in biofuel refining, it was not the end goal.)

The only need Freya does not share with humans is sleep, but she *does* require around eight hours of charging a night. Her battery is capable of lasting longer by entering a progressively more restrictive low power mode, before eventually forcibly locking down and deploying solar panels built into her shoulders. Her prefered method of charging is plugging into her specially crafted charging dock, but in a pinch she can plug straight into a wall or utilize the aforementioned set of collapsible solar panels in her shoulders.

Freya has the ability to record what she hears and play it back freely, thanks to her vocal synthizier. Though, to do so she has to pass a forgetful roll.

  • You must still perform some equivalent of eating, sleeping, and drinking unless other Effects allow you to ignore that requirement.

  • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use a watch or clock to activate this Effect.

Lasts 1 minute. Whenever you use your Movement, after all other calculations, the distance you may travel is doubled.

Outside of Combat, any non-Gift, non-movement Actions you attempt take drastically less time to complete, as long as your personal speed is a factor in the Action. Total time reduction is determined by the GM and capped at 90% (executing the Action takes no less than 1/10th the normal time).

While using this Effect, you may carry one other being without affecting your Encumbrance, so long as you maintain contact with them for the duration and they consent or are grappled.

  • The time reduction on non-Movement Actions applies only to the parts of actions when your personal speed is a factor,: pouring water or smoking a steak are not affected, but constructing a shelter or picking a lock would be. The GM will determine how much the total time is reduced based on how relevant personal speed is to the task.
  • Any Encumbrance penalty to your movement still applies, but you do not suffer from any sort of exhaustion.
  • Damage from a collision depends on your speed at the time, as well as what you hit. GM's discretion, but generally moving faster than a car on the freeway and hitting a dense, solid object like a wall or a tree should be lethal. Mundane armor will not apply, but any supernatural forms of protection will.

You gain the following benefits as long as Must be driving a rugged vehicle such as an SUV truck or armored car. and you are piloting any vehicle.
