Charlatans

Nowadays you can't go a day without some phony prophet trying to peddle their wares to you.
Driven by the increased interest in the supernatural, charlatans from palm readers to televangelists are everywhere. And while the vast majority of witches, psychics, magicians, hypnotists, cures, potions, faith healers, and clairvoyants are complete fakes, they do make a living.
As the saying goes, "it's easier for an actor to make it in alternative medicine than Hollywood."
Most people scoff at these clearly-phony supernatural services, yet those same people often buy into at least one scam.
The most dangerous charlatans are the self-styled monster hunters who carry a mall-ninja arsenal and guns with silver bullets. Most have never encountered anything supernatural and do absolutely nothing besides burn some sage and patrol the area for a night or two. Even so, those who are superstitious, fearful, or desperate enough will hire them to solve the problems they simply don't understand. In some cases with disastrous results.
For Contractors, charlatans are red herrings and obstacles. Clumsy fakes that conjure a smokescreen of misinformation and escalate the situations they're in.

Bermudan Stasis Guava
"Hey, you're doing great, okay? Let's take a breather, just me and you."
A strange, bulbous guava fruit that has transparent skin, showing of the glowing blue flesh within. It is soft and tender, and when split in half with your bare hands, it lets off a spark.
Marcielle's first attempt at cultivating the perfect crop. The Bermudan Stasis Guava is imbued with bizarre, unrefined energy, and as a result seems to only exist about 90% within stable spacetime. No, she doesn't understand it either. Due to its temporal instability, it doesn't make a very good mass crop. In theory, however, it is shelf stable forever.
Use up this blue guava fruit and spend an Action.
You phase out of reality for up to 10 minutes. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world but may take mental and self-targeting Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.
When you phase out, you may bring up to 1 additional target in arm's reach with you. While phased out together, you may interact as if standing in an empty void that extends infinitely in all directions.
When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.

Yokai Jaunt
People will see me and cry
A simple trick, if one that requires admitting a bit more vulnerability than he would normally like. Leaving behind the flesh suit has it's costs, but Leon vastly prefers that to the universal problem of being obliterated by a tank round, and though it takes a bit of mental focus, and pulling in the screaming souls of those he has devoured to do so, he can quickly corporatize if it is absolutely necessary.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction. This Effect cannot be used unless So long as Leon has consumed an offering in his name in the last 24 hours.
You phase out of reality for 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot affect the outside world (other than non-combat Actions using your hands, at +2 Difficulty) or take any Actions. You may move as normal while phased out. You may pass through walls and "climb" up and down through solid material at normal climbing speeds. Nothing can interact with you in any way.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Leon's body collapses into an empty skin suit on the floor, and his ethereal body steps into a mass of souls.

- If you phase in while intersecting with solid material, you take a severe, potentially-lethal Injury.
- Any items and equipment on your person become intangible along with you. You cannot interact with them, as they are intangible.
- Effects that do not require a physical target may still affect you.
- If you use this Effect to dodge as a Reaction, it succeeds without the need for a roll. Cannot be used as a Desperate Defense.
- When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
- You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.
Future Step
See you in a while, crocodile
Litia takes a step and vanishes into thin air. Her body just poofs out of existence, no sound, no flash, nothing. Like erased from the timestream. She will appear in the same spot anywhere between 1 and 12 seconds later. Time travel, simple as that.
This does strain the fabric of reality a lot, so she can't use it too often, but it is a very welcome tool.

The time-twister presses a button on one of their wristwatches, and, in a flash of orange light, disappears. They have skipped 12 seconds forward in time. To them, the travel is instantaneous, but everyone else must wait until they reappear.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use a clock or watch to activate this Effect.
You phase out of reality for 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

PSG Omega Shield
"Incoming!"
The Future Soldier's PSG is capable of briefly supercharging its effectiveness with a jolt of Omega Cell energy. While active, the future soldier glows with an extremely bright golden light.
While the shield is supercharged, the Future Soldier cannot move or see the outside world, but they are completely isolated from anything that occurs outside the shield.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action or Reaction.
You phase out of reality for up to 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.
