Description

Ossicles are small calcareous elements embedded in the dermis of the body wall of echinoderms. They form part of the endoskeleton and provide rigidity and protection. They are found in different forms and arrangements in sea urchins, starfish, brittle stars, sea cucumbers, and crinoids.

Tori’s last mission had to do with sea urchins- she picked one up and used it as a key in an old ruin, surrounded by creatures that made her ecstatic. After some of her usual Gift+Marine Science experimenting, Tori was able to genetically mutate herself; a layer of ossicles under her skin, giving hard protection without so much stiff restriction. Maybe now, she won’t be so afraid to get hurt.
