Looking around the area, though you can’t immediately tell what’s the come or what has happened, one thought always pops up in your head: “There’s got to be like, a Buffy episode or something based off of this.” You just have to find what makes this place narratively appealing, and hopefully that’ll give you a clue on what you’re meant to do here.

You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about the area:
- You learn where exactly creatures and people live within the area, and what sorts of creatures they are.
- You can locate the source of any Alien energy or the presence of any Alien effects on the area. Specific information about the function of these effects beyond their general type is not forthcoming.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.

Gen-Wyld: Beyond Natural
On March 14, 2018, a little-known company named Gen-Wyld announced FDA approval for a groundbreaking procedure to enhance a patient’s primary and secondary sexual characteristics using gene therapy. The company was an overnight success.
Shortly thereafter, they introduced a suite of gene-altering body modification procedures that allowed patients to make dramatic aesthetic changes to their bodies by gene-splicing “non-human” anatomy. Those daring (and wealthy) enough can now add cuttlefish pigmentation to their skin, sport a pair of fox ears, and even add a functional tail. While rare, these so-called “modders” draw plenty of hate from conservative communities.
Thanks to their revolutionary procedures, Gen-Wyld is now a household name. Norman Carlson, Gen-Wyld’s chief evangelist, recently announced the company is in the trial phase for a groundbreaking treatment for diabetes.
Yet despite their success, a shroud of secrecy surrounds Gen-Wyld. Their no-patent policy obscures the secrets of their procedures from the public eye. Financial experts claim that Gen-Wyld is run less like a traditional business and more like an NGO with some specific, unknown objective.
Some claim that they will not stop until humanity has been reduced to monstrous slaves and that Gen-Wyld’s board of directors will install themselves as inhuman overlords of the new world order.
However, until the true secrets behind Gen-Wyld are discovered, the genetic biotech firm will continue to grow, develop, and progress its grand designs.

Ranger’s foresight
Give an explorer enough time and determination to survey an area, then they’ll know that area like the back of their hand.
Akira can place his hand on the ground, proceeds to breathe in and out once, and “feel” the earth by pressing his hand into the grass. Feeling into the roots and closing his eyes, he could feel the energy and aura of every living being within a 100 feet radius. Even if said beings left in that area a long time ago. Anyone that’s near Akira can can feel a warm, calming glow of energy around him.
Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 1 mile At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Alertness at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
- You can tell which entities lay claim to each part of the area and how these borders have shifted over time.
- You learn where exactly creatures and people live within the area, and what sorts of creatures they are.
- You learn about any traps or ambushes in the area. Using this power does not trigger said traps or ambushes.
- You choose a specific type of event and receive a vision of the last time it occurred here.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is his body temperature is degrees warmer than usual.. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.

Noodles of Mystery
"Hmmm.." Bu Fang lifts the Noodle in a chopstick & examines it closely. "Werewolves. Definitely Werewolves," he sighs.
Bu Fang examines the Noodles for the duration, unraveling their mysteries - this is NOT Concealed, & onlookers will see the Ramen Noodles writhe in an unnatural manner.
Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions to activate. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 500 feet You must use up Ramen in order to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Culture at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
- You learn where exactly creatures and people live within the area, and what sorts of creatures they are.
- You can locate the source of any supernatural energy or the presence of any supernatural effects on the area, though you will not necessarily get any specific information about their function.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
Whispers of the Dead
“Turn left. Walk forward. I died behind the pipe…” you hear around David, as he finishes his candle-lit meditation.
David seems to focus, and around him in the air you can hear audible whispers in the voices of those that have died in this area, directing him towards their corpses.
David has meddled many a time in the realm and affairs of the Dead by now. He has even wrestled with them, tearing into one of their realms. The Dead have begun to call to him. To seek for him to find them. And so, in his ears, they sometimes whisper….

You learn the following information about the area:
- You can tell how many living things have died in this area, what they were, and roughly when the deaths occurred.
- You learn the specific physical location of human corpses in this area
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
Overlord's Instincts
Know everything happening in your realm
Gunnar places his hand on the ground or walls and declares the area his domain. He lets the dragon's mind fuse with his own, their sight overlapping and tracking any sign of either living subjects under his rule or alien energies intruding on his territory.

Ever since the invention of powerline Ethernet adapters, Dominic has known about the wired transmission of energy being a vector for information. Now with the latest upgrade to Project Ozymandias he can now use that information in the form that it was truly intended to be use. As the great genius Nikola Tesla once posited, it is indeed possible to transmit electrical energy over the open air, and now with a few taps on his computer Dominic can broadcast a signal that much like an IMSI catcher identifies the presence of electrical impulses in the air, even ones as simple as brain activity or nerve impulses are captured as well down to even the barely perceptible impulses that travel through plants allowing him to track the illuminati's agents wherever they go.

- You can tell the age of any structure or natural formation in the area. This includes trees and plants growing in the area.
- You learn how heavily trafficked the area is, what sorts of Animate beings have moved through the area and when.
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
Scents and Signs
The beastmaster puts their nose to the ground and sniffs about the area. Their feral nostrils tell them what sorts of creatures live in the area, and who lays claim to each region.
