Teresa is a giant doll conjured by Nikelaos, used only to treat any injuries surgically. It is equipped with countless medical tools that can be used to provide first aid and perform major surgeries.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see an abhorrent spirit.
The spy can twist the urban environment to their whims, erecting fences, walls, and barriers as needed. They whistle and gesture to where the wall should be, and the surrounding materials fly into place.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 50 feet. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma.
Select one of the following alterations to create out of standard building materials originating at the target:
The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.
This alteration lasts one minute but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 6 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
Liv hold a hand with a demonic artifact clasped in it near her target. Small creatures of shadow reach out of the artifact towards the target. Grasping shadowy hands. They pull bits of red fleshy energy out of the target, pulling it into the artifact.
The target's body become divorced from its usual needs, and can keep functioning without food, sleep or air. Something feels vaguely lost from the target, although it recovers over the next week.
The thing that is happening with this gift is that the part of people metaphysical self is the human desire and need for food, water, air, is ripped away from them. It comes back slowly.
This is done by Liv using the existing object as an anchor to open a portal to the home realm of the servant. There the native creatures will reach out and feed on the part of the target which connects them to material need.
This is a bit based on part of The Hungry Choir, a living ritual in the web serial Pale. In that ritual you could gain the ability not to need to eat, but it is presented as spiritually horrifying, with the part of them that is their need to eat being ripped out.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Animate target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use An object with a demon in it (Crafted bound servant or demon themed upgrade) to activate this Effect.
For the next week, your target does not require any food, water, sleep, or air. Any roll to resist an Effect dependent on any affected requirement is made at -1 Difficulty.
Auditory hallucinations are a classic trick of the [REDACTED], and though Leon has some. problems maintaining his [REDACTED] form still as of yet with a little assistance with a gift from a friend he has managed to grasp hold of one of the iconic [REDACTED] abilities once again. By playing the instrument he can strum into reality just about anything, though he does have some size limits he won't admit to, and he needs a little help from some additional sensory input from incense he imbues with his power, a novice, and his crutches still manage to produce an impressive illusion.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within arm's reach. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than an SUV.
The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place until it is dispelled or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through all of their senses. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You may create a replica of a specific being or Object, though it is still limited by what you do or do not know about the subject.
Anyone who struggles against the illusion hard enough to break a window or who would be damaged by the illusion realizes it is an illusion, and the entire effect will be ended for all targets.
The illusion is not fixed to the initial target, and may move about at a maximum speed 30 feet per Round. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.
You may use Traumatize as though you were standing within your illusion. Doing so dispels the Illusion. Anyone who has already seen through the illusion is unaffected by any Powers channeled through it.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Kitsune Heart: Whenever a limit roll is presented you must drop your disguise and roll self control or act in a hostile manner towards the source of the limit roll. You may exert to end the effect so long as one action has been taken..
Joseph's voice has always been complimented for being so enchanting and impactful to his audiences, so why not make it literally enchanting? When he sings and makes eye contact with a target, the lyrics of the song he's chosen will spill out of his mouth in glowing golden letters in the air, and Joseph will be able to draw out and manipulate the target's emotions as he so pleases. Anyone who the target interacts with during this may also fall under the spell, as the effect of his voice is just that hard to ignore. However, as all performers know, it's incredibly taxing to maintain such a strong command over a crowd, so for now, Joseph limits his usage of this ability -- after all, it is wise to keep your best performances for the best opportunities possible.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6 -3 dice.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
When your target interacts with any valid target, they must roll Self-Control or be swept up in the same emotion. New targets pass it on as well, and so on, with the remaining duration decreasing by half until the chain stops.
While this Effect is active, you are at -2 dice to all Actions and cannot Concentrate.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
The user pulls out a key and uses a hand motion against the surface of the container with said key, and as he does so, the target is opened up, locked or closed at his discretion with massive cracks and lines entering and piercing through the walls of said object.
Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: The user does several motions on the door using the artefact, saying "Open the noor, open the noor!" as the door is opened or "Close it up!" when closed or "Lock it up!" when locked. Select a Non-Alien door, container, knot, or lock within arm's reach. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
The mutant has gained some control over their genetic instability, allowing them to trigger a mutation at will. When the need arises, their flesh warps and twists, and a new mutation manifests that is suited to whatever obstacle the mutant happens to be facing at the time.
Spend 30 minutes. You may only target yourself. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
The beastmaster puts their nose to the ground and sniffs about the area. Their feral nostrils tell them what sorts of creatures live in the area, and who lays claim to each region.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet Can only be activated while you are in the wilderness. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Survival at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
The Future Soldier learned to create foam grenades in their own time period, and they still can, kinda. They look like glowing orange capsules with a rugged rubberized grip. When thrown, they burst into a splash of expanding neon orange foam. The foam hardens in seconds, severely hampering the movement of anyone unlucky enough to have been splashed. Those affected may use their hands or weapons to hack away at the foam and free themselves.
Occasionally, the fuses on these bootleg grenades fails, and they go off immediately.
Spend an Action and use up this small metallic grenade with pin (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Make a thrown Attack at a Location within normal Attack range. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you are hit as it activates immediately at your present location. The target may roll to dodge or Defend, as normal for thrown Attacks. The Attack itself does not deal any Damage beyond the Effect.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but are reduced to ¼ of their movement speed.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
The Doctor examines their patient and gives a standard medical checkup, asking them questions, nodding to themselves, and muttering arcane medical jargon. The examination reveals an extraordinary amount of detail about any medical issues suffered by the patient.
Spend one minute. Select a Sapient target or a Creature within arm's reach. You must actively converse with the individual in question for one minute in order to gather any information. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Medicine at Difficulty 6. The target may Resist.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
The Scepter of Ang-Kapal is a gruesome device fashioned to look like a skeletal arm clutching a glass eye. When used, blood from the person holding is drawn into the eye where it swirls with dark energy. The eye turns to a nearby corpse and shudders, reviving the creature. The creature does not retain any of its memories or personality, but it is absolutely loyal to whoever is holding the scepter.
The Scepter of Ang Kepal has the unfortunate side effect of driving its owner mad.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
