(During activation and whenever you issue a command, it is clear that you are interacting with the target. You must actively and obviously be using up Liquid Mercury.)

The skin pages open under a careful finger. Blood drips down manicured fingernail, and where it drips flesh and bone seize and warp away in fear. Carefully drawn motions see many hooks bent outwards from the ribs and vertebrae, until a cork is popped allowing quicksilver to run along sculpted seams.

The spine has become an instrument strung by taught lines of dripping silver. Dead and broken hands twitch to life, lost digits replaced with woven mercury.
The eyes swirl with color.

The King is the Bull of the sky,
Who conquers at will,
Who lives on the being of every God,
Who eats their entrails,
Even of those who come with their bodies full of magic
From the island of fire.

The surgery was successful, but the stress unlocked something new, and Grace was able to use it later on to fix a scar of her own. The fear of the flames has stopped bothering them in short bursts, but a long minute spent deep in the memory can still be too much for them sometimes.
