When the Priest holds a cross, or presents one to the world, their eyes shimmer dimly with a gold glow that one would initially think is a reflection of light. The cross soon shimmers with the same golden light, though slightly more noticeable then the glow on their eyes.
Exert your Mind (unless your current location, or target location is within 1 mile of a church) and spend 15 minutes. Select a Location within your line of sight. You must use up a days worth of food and water in order to activate this Effect.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. Anyone who is touching you as you Travel will be brought along with you. You must wait an hour before activating this effect again.
If you traverse any Trails or Backroads for one minute, you may activate this Effect and travel to the edge of any other Trails or Backroads that you’re aware of, regardless of range.
When you Travel, you leave a trail of footsteps leading too and from locations as a distinct trail between your starting and end points.

- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Charlatans

Nowadays you can't go a day without some phony prophet trying to peddle their wares to you.
Driven by the increased interest in the supernatural, charlatans from palm readers to televangelists are everywhere. And while the vast majority of witches, psychics, magicians, hypnotists, cures, potions, faith healers, and clairvoyants are complete fakes, they do make a living.
As the saying goes, "it's easier for an actor to make it in alternative medicine than Hollywood."
Most people scoff at these clearly-phony supernatural services, yet those same people often buy into at least one scam.
The most dangerous charlatans are the self-styled monster hunters who carry a mall-ninja arsenal and guns with silver bullets. Most have never encountered anything supernatural and do absolutely nothing besides burn some sage and patrol the area for a night or two. Even so, those who are superstitious, fearful, or desperate enough will hire them to solve the problems they simply don't understand. In some cases with disastrous results.
For Contractors, charlatans are red herrings and obstacles. Clumsy fakes that conjure a smokescreen of misinformation and escalate the situations they're in.

Thunder Hike
A wizard is never— oh fuck Chemistry started 15 minutes ago.
Preston raises his staff to the sky and there is a flash of distant lightning. A few seconds later, thunder rumbles menacingly, the lights flicker, there is a gust of wind, and Preston disappears at one location and appears at another.
The effect occurs at the source and destination simultaneously, though there is no sign he is the source (besides appearing/disappearing).
Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Select a Location within your line of sight. You must actively and obviously use a staff to activate this Effect.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. You must wait 1 full Round before activating this Effect again.

King Of The Mountain
Mountain Spirit’s Leap
When Stinky Pete focuses his mind to teleport, his form becomes momentarily blurred, like a mirage dancing on the mountain wind. His eyes glaze over as he attunes himself to the earth beneath him, feeling the ancient paths and hidden routes that only he can sense.
As he exerts his Mind, the very ground seems to respond, sending tremors through the soil, and his form flickers, bending reality as if nature itself is plucking him from one spot and dropping him elsewhere. To an observer, it’s like he vanishes into thin air with a gust of wind and reappears where he intends, the faint sound of shifting stones accompanying his arrival.
If in a mountainous area, this ability becomes even more dramatic. The mountains seem to call out to him, their ridges and peaks aligning in his mind like a vast interconnected web. For one minute, as he traverses the rocky terrain, each step resonates with an ancient power. When he decides to jump, there’s a sudden, sharp pull as the very fabric of the mountains folds, spitting him out at the edge of another range, no matter how distant. The terrain doesn’t just connect; it becomes an extension of his will, bending space and time as if he were an avatar of the mountains themselves.

My presence is demanded elsewhere, a place of great importance.
Either reading a verse from the bible, holding a cross aloft of carrying any other similar items while prayer. Incense begins to float off the shoulders of the user almost unnoticeably. When the movement finally goes through, the user disappears in the latter mentioned gas,
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Location within your line of sight. You must actively and obviously use a bible, crucifix, or other such Catholic items to activate this Effect.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. Anyone who is touching you as you Travel will be brought along with you. You must wait an hour before activating this effect again.
If you traverse any Christian Church for one minute, you may activate this Effect and travel to the edge of any other Christian Church that you’re aware of, regardless of range.
When you Travel, you leave a small cloud of inscence, or if using spirit paths a star shines on the horizon as a distinct trail between your starting and end points.

- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
Voidwalker
The infinite traveller finally earns her moniker
When Jessica focuses, a portal materializes before her, swirling with an eerie glow of purples, pinks, and blues, frosted light crystalizing around the edges of the portal and geometric fractals opening upon themselves as seen through it. The light from the portal triggers brief, unsettling visual hallucinations of blood and impending doom for those nearby. The portal itself bends spacetime, allowing Jessica to travel vast distances instantaneously, slipping through the fabric of reality with a single step.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Location within your line of sight. You must use up handful of glass beads in order to activate this Effect. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. Anyone who is touching you as you Travel will be brought along with you. You must wait 1 full Round before activating this Effect again.
If you traverse any highway section for one minute, you may activate this Effect and travel to the edge of any other highway section that you’re aware of, regardless of range.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see a portal opens bathing the entire area in an unearthly, arcane glow of sickly purple that induces nightmarish visions.
- When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
Essence of the Knife
Fear the thing used a million times
Bu Fang Knife has been used to kill, butcher, to dismember and prepare many creatures and being. Drowning in their blood, their essence with a refined craftsmanship, over the years has tempered the blade into the natural enemy of all creatures. The blade, well maintained, has reached such a point that it cannot be damaged anymore either.
This Artifact has been upgraded.
This Artifact receives 2 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +2 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed.
Upgraded weapons count as any material your opponent might be particularly vulnerable to. Upgraded Armor cannot be circumvented by called shots. Upgraded Devices do not run out of fuel or energy.
- "Destroyed" in this context means "prevented from functioning for its primary purpose", so for instance, an upgraded land mine would still explode as normal if triggered, even though it cannot be "destroyed" and a car's windows may still be broken.
- Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used. The same is true for extra dice.
- Extra dice from this Effect do not apply to Gift activation rolls.
