A writhing mass of metal chains rises out of the floor at Grayson’s call…when the revenant spirit of Leyding is in the mood. It is a fickle thing, and knows not whether to trust his potential. Right now, it does not always come when he beckons.
This mass of winding, rusted, broken chains fires off a few links at his target, interrupting or binding them in a spectral embrace.
Leyding…one of the two chains broken attempting to bind Fenrir. When Leyding broke, its ghost carried on. A ghost without a home. A ghost with failed purpose. Thousands of years later…in the unlikeliest of places, its spirit latched on to a young rocker on the streets of Seattle. He had a gift for convincing people. And Leyding learned from its successor Gleipnir—that the trick to trapping someone is often in convincing them there is no escape.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within arm's reach. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. Roll Dexterity + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target may contest by Defending or Dodging.
If you succeed, your target will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but cannot move to a new location.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
You may use this Effect as a Reaction to contest any physical Action a target is taking. Excess Outcome does not restrict the target.
Terry uses this whirring, flowing box to 'fuck up the energies' around a target, helping himself in the process.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a Sapient target within arm's reach. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you The P.E.N.I.S Explodes, dealing a Severity-4 Injury to Terry.. You must actively and obviously use Personal Electroresonant Nocturno-Ignition Spectrometer (PENIS) to activate this Effect. If a target does not consent to the transfer, you must roll Intellect + Technology at Difficulty 6 to use the effect on them. They can resist by rolling either Body or Mind at Difficulty 6, depending on what you are attempting to transfer to them.
You may choose as many things as you like from the following to transfer from your target to yourself, or from yourself to them:
Whenever you transfer an Injury, it's Severity increases by 1. Whenever you transfer Mind damage or Traumas, the recipient takes an additional Mind damage.
The smith hits downward with his tool and in the same notion the enemy is hit with a tungsten cube, shot at them from a portal from seemingly nowhere. The cube disappears shortly after.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 300 feet. You must actively and obviously use a metal working tool to activate this Effect. Roll Dexterity + Crafts Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 2.
The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Instead of dealing Damage all at once, the Injury caused by this Power starts at Severity 1 and worsens at the rate of one level per Round until it reaches the Severity it would have otherwise been.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. You must actively and obviously use A cursed orb to activate this Effect. The area within 20 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Brawn + Alertness at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 20 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 2. Armor is reduced to 1/2, rounded up against this damage. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.
Damage spreads to targets beyond the edge of the initial radius, decreasing by 2 damage for every 5 feet traveled.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see it's painful.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Giant scar on my face.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
"...Fear not my wretched form! This is my burden to bear... But I shall mend you! Step forward, and after but a minute your scars will disappear! The nebulous glow that signifies my influence, and the wart-like skin that falls away after several seconds, revealing new, unscarred tissue! Follow me, and be reborn in the quagmire of the universe!..."
[Disfiguring]: Obviously, Serq is already disfigured, via their right arm frogging out. Utilizing the affected limb, they can transfer some of their sickly-looking frog skin to their patient, and over the course of a minute they heal and the skin falls away, revealing brand-new tissue. Part of it is from Serq's inherent alien ability, but it is bolstered by the parasites inside their body and especially inside their arm.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect. If used on a Battle Scar caused by an Unstabilized Injury, that Injury is Stabilized.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Alien Sting: Phase 2.
As Jacob activates the “Talents Phone,” its screen comes to life with a familiar glow, indicating its readiness to establish a connection. Unbeknownst to Jacob, the device taps into a powerful magical phenomenon, creating a subtle yet potent effect that transcends ordinary communication.
On the recipient’s end, their phone buzzes with an incoming video call notification, displaying Jacob’s face or an unknown caller icon. As they accept the call, the screen transforms into a window, revealing a live feed of Jacob’s face on the other side. Despite their confusion, the recipient finds themselves drawn into the image, their attention focused solely on Jacob’s presence.
As Jacob begins to speak, the magical essence of the “Talents Phone” subtly enhances the connection, imbuing the video feed with a sense of depth and clarity that transcends ordinary technology. Despite any technological limitations or Jacob’s own misunderstanding, the video feed remains stable and clear, allowing for seamless communication between the two parties.
Unaware of the artifact’s true power, Jacob continues to use the “Talents Phone” with a mix of awe and ignorance, never realizing that each call creates a subtle yet profound effect that bridges the gap between him and his intended recipient. And as the conversation unfolds, the magic of the “Talents Phone” quietly weaves its spell, ensuring that Jacob’s words reach their destination with clarity and precision, regardless of the distance between them.
Spend an Action. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location. This Effect cannot be used unless The target must accept the call and The Target Must have access to a device that can make calls.
You open up a line of communication to your target, and may converse with them as long as one of you maintains Concentration
The conversation will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.
You may send any physical Object that would fit into a backpack with your message. Such messages take one minute to arrive and always cost Exertion. Any active timers, fuses, or traps on the objects are triggered when you attempt to send them.
The Witch is a master herbalist and can cure any number of illnesses and diseases with her special potions. She goes into the wilderness to find the proper set of herbs. Once she has what she's looking for, she mixes them together and boils the concoction. Steam rises from the mixture, twisting into recognizable shapes such as animals and spirits. The whole process takes about fifteen minutes, after which the patient must drink the entire mixture. They are immediately cured.
The proper preparation varies from person to person, so a single batch cannot be used to treat multiple people.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless you can forage for herbs. You must actively and obviously use water, a container, and heat to activate this Effect.
You may cure any Non-Alien diseases, toxins, or poisons afflicting your target even if you have not diagnosed or fully understood it. You may cure diseases or poisons even if they are not treatable through modern medicine. During treatment, the malady you are treating does not progress or cause additional Damage or other effects.
Whenever you cure a disease, poison, or toxin, if it had inflicted any Damage, your target is healed for half that Damage.
The beastmaster puts their nose to the ground and sniffs about the area. Their feral nostrils tell them what sorts of creatures live in the area, and who lays claim to each region.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet Can only be activated while you are in the wilderness. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Survival at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
The Scepter of Ang-Kapal is a gruesome device fashioned to look like a skeletal arm clutching a glass eye. When used, blood from the person holding is drawn into the eye where it swirls with dark energy. The eye turns to a nearby corpse and shudders, reviving the creature. The creature does not retain any of its memories or personality, but it is absolutely loyal to whoever is holding the scepter.
The Scepter of Ang Kepal has the unfortunate side effect of driving its owner mad.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
Who wouldn't want one of the mad scientist's famous implants? All it takes is a little time and a few terrifying experiments, and you too could be a better you!
Warning: not fully tested on humans. Risk of dry mouth, upset stomach, or lost limbs. Do not consult your doctor before signing the liability release.
Exert your Mind and spend eight hours. Select a Living or Animate target within arm's reach. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you cause a major Battle Scar instead of an augmentation. Your target must make a Trauma roll to reap the benefits of this Effect. They may choose to Resist the Effect and not make the roll. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
The augmentations you provide are not outwardly visible nor obvious.
EzFake is an app that appears on any cell phone the influencer holds as long as they are holding it. The influencer need only make a selection and focus their will to project a lifelike forgery into the world in front of them. It may be an object, a creature, or even a specific person, and they can speak and make sounds as well.
The Influencer gets ready to film, and focuses fully on getting a good shot. After all, no video doctoring software can compete with a real life forgery which can be filmed from any number of directions by anyone's camera and appear legitimate.
Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: open up the app on your cell phone, make your selection, and prepare to film. Select a target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use cell phone camera to activate this Effect. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than a person.
The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place as long as you maintain Concentration or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through their smell, hearing, and sight. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You may create a replica of a specific being or Object, though it is still limited by what you do or do not know about the subject.
Anyone who touches the illusion (or who would be able to perceive it significantly through a sense it cannot fool) realizes it is an illusion and can choose to perceive it or not at will.
The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.
